Wand:
11 1/2 inches of springy birch wood with a spiral shaft including two nooks where Marceline places her forefinger and thumb. It has a hippogriff talon core. Her wand was bought from an American wand maker. All and all, Marceline's wand is excellent for charm work.

Physical Description:
Marceline has a long mass of wavy dark hair, a few hints of purple still visible from when it was dyed. It is partially held back with a few loose strands in the front. She has soft almond shaped bright blue eyes. She is an 5'9" female, a bit on the slim side for her height. Marceline is awfully athletic, her muscles mostly in her stomach and legs, holding some in her arms. Marceline would consider herself emo, especially in her years at Salem Witches Institute of Magic. Often Marceline will wear glasses, although she doesn't desperately need them. They're black and rectangular, simple but elegant. She wears dark colors, no exception.
Over her one year in London, Marceline has picked up a slight accent, although for the most part she does not have one. A lot of the time Marceline will speak a bit too fast for others to understand what she is saying. A lot of people notice how long her name is, so most people call her Marci. Her close friends can call her Lima Bean (Long story).

Personality Description:
Marceline is always in the mood to smile. She tends to overdramatize things a bit, but it doesn't usually lead to her downfall in any way. She's exceptionally smart in what she decided to be smart in (the Arts, plants, transfiguration, and manipulation). Marceline is very artistic, in the fact that she acts, sings, writes, draws, and can also play the guitar. She will often appear as secluded and not very approachable, but those who know her well tend to really like her and stay friends with her forever. She is often clumsy, but very careful with things she values most. Marceline can usually be fairly manipulative and is able to get people to do what she wants, especially in a time of laziness. Marceline isn't generally open to people giving her new ideas on the way she currently does anything. She generally only takes on tasks if she's good at them. She is definitely the leader of groups of people, due to her often extravagant nature and natural leading skills.
Marceline would be considered as any house but a Ravenclaw if she went to Hogwarts. She only has a few traits of Slytherin, but contends it would be her house. Marceline is very curious about different styles of life, partly why she moved to London, and is a bit carefree. She takes her passion, acting, and anything else she's good at very seriously, though.

Pre-SWIM Life

Born into the legendary family of Bridget Bishop, Marceline knew she was important from day 1. She grew up with two magic parents, her mother a muggleblood and her father a halfblood. She never went to muggle school, but her parents did teach her a little bit of magic in their small apartment on Chestnut Street. Up until her schooling at SWIM, Marceline would spend many days at High Street Park with her German Shepherd Chrissy, secretly performing a few charms with the family wand. Marceline's childhood was a happy one, to say the least.
6th and 7th Grade at SWIM

She received her letter to SWIM one evening, both of her parents proud that the lineage could be passed on. She received the black lace family necklace that was given to each girl in the family who attended the Institute. Getting her wand from a not well known wand-maker as well as school supplies, Marceline was ready. Her first two years were equally as happy as her childhood. She wasn't the best in her classes, but did a good job in Magical Classes, not the muggle ones. In all of her Salem Junior years, she was in the Phoenix Hall.
8th, 9th, and 10th Grade at SWIM

These 3 years were Marceline's glory years at the Institute. She would officially consider herself emo, and dyed her hair purple in varying degrees daily with a magical dye she bought off a another student. It managed to stay in for all those years and some time afterwards. She continued to make good grades, and continued just having fun with her life. In 9th and 10th grade, she was part of the Quodpot team. She was also in the Merlin Hall in her Salem Senior years. She spent many evenings after Quodpot practice with her transfiguration professor, learning new curriculum and therefore excelling in transfiguration.
11th and 12th Grade at SWIM

She started to fall in 11th grade, quitting the Quodpot team and getting barely passing grades. She stopped paying attention to her hair and let the magical dye fade. She dressed carelessly. Professors and other students would try to approach her, but she would tend to shrug them off. Her favorite teacher, the transfiguration professor, pulled her from class one day in 11th grade. She said to Marceline very sternly: "Marci, I don't know what's up with you right now. You're an amazing student." This certainly changed Marceline. Unknown to all but Marceline was why she started to fail. Chrissy had died over the summer, and this dog was Marcella's childhood. The death of Chrissy made her realize she was no longer a child, much like Harry's loss of Hedwig. Marceline was also being pressured by her parents to be the best, which left her in a state of depression on top of the German Shepherd's death. When 12th grade began, she found out about the TetraWizard Tournament. She went to Hogwarts, but never entered her name. She was just there to support her school. But before the Tournament, Marceline rejoined the Quodpot team, becoming captain. The sad part was that there weren't any games that year. Marceline was doing better than ever with her grades. Sadly, her transfiguration professor died mid-year while at Hogwarts, unknown to all how she died, leaving Marceline just the same as in 11th grade. Although she still continued to pay attention and keep her grades up and her Quodpot skills polished, school life just wasn't the same. At the end of the year she was gifted her transfiguration professor's cat's kitten, whom she named Ami and still owns.
Current Life

After the TetraWizard Tournament, Marceline grew quite fond of Europe, and decided to move to London. Her parents gave her a generous sum of money, and Marceline settled in quite nicely. Many of her friends had moved and now worked at the Ministry. Deciding to not jump right into a career, Marceline took a job at Alohamocha. She's quite fond of her current life, but sometimes misses her family and a few friends who are still at SWIM or haven't moved.

Marceline lives in one bedroom apartment 2A at Dorothea's Apartments for Wayward Witches & Wizards. She spends much of her days in Diagon Alley, and will often visit the Ministry. Marceline would say she has a very good life, and is loving London so far. She has met a few people, although her close friends from school remain in America.

Describe your job duties and how you go about them:
Being a witch just out of school, Marceline hasn't decided on a career yet. She is interested in a Daily Prophet position. Marceline also really enjoys acting and has a natural talent, and pursues it as a free time or hobby, never considering it a career. For now she works at Alohomocha part-time to make ends meet.

Elaborate on your expertise in your field:
Marceline has been exposed to both Muggle and Wizard media, therefore making her feel as though that is the perfect career for her. She always expresses an interest in news, and was known to spread a few rumors back in the day. A knack for design and style also makes her feel perfect for this career.
