Wand: Roxroy's wand comes from a shop in the Caribbean islands. It is 14 1/3" long and the core is made from the fin of a hippocampus- these wand cores adapt to different kinds of magic easily but are also known to be stubborn cores that must be won over by their owners. The wood is copperwood- a shiny dark red in color- matched to witches and wizards who are highly adaptable and whose magical skill grows quickly and easily. The wood is quite bendy. The shaft of Rocky's wand is intricately spiraled showing that he is quick-witted and open minded as well as ambitious.

Physical Description: He's definitely a tall kid- standing at a hair over six feet and will probably still grow another couple of inches. His jaw line is very defined and he has a wide smile. Roxroy has a couple of facial piercings- he has his septum pierced and his ears. Roxroy has a warm brown complexion and dark curly hair. His eyes are beneath dark, thick brows and are a very dark shade of brown. He's started to fill out now that he's seventeen- he was lanky before but he's starting to pack on weight and because he's always out doing stuff and enjoys running and swimming is very fit. Because his family is a mix of muggles and magical people his sense of fashion is a little strange sometimes. He's not a fan of the uniform and talks all the time about how as soon as he's out of Hogwarts he's going to get tattoos. (His parents won't let him have any until he graduates.)


Personality Description: Roxroy is a very chill guy. He smokes gillyweed fairly regularly- he enjoys the feeling of peace it gives him and he claims it helps him clear his mind. (He also enjoys billywig stingers.) Rocky is non confrontational in general- unless a situation desperately calls for it. He's friendly and he thinks it is much more important to make friendships and foster relationships with people than it is to fight with them or judge them. Rocky is incredibly open minded and loves learning about other people and other cultures. He considers it the highest form of trust and flattery if a person is willing to divulge their past to him and tell him all about themselves. He is an excellent secret keeper and rarely partakes in gossip. Things that are told to Rocky don't go any further.

He is very proactive. Roxroy has dreams and he works hard to achieve them. He's determined and focused on achieving what he wants out of life- and he always has been, which often makes him seem more mature or wise beyond his years to people who have no clue what they are going to do with their life after Hogwarts. He knows what he wants to do. Rocky spends his spare time learning all he can about wands and wandmaking because all he wants in this world is to be a great- legendary, even- wandmaker. He finds the intricacies of wands fascinating. Roxroy is like that in other aspects of his life. If he wants something, he makes it happen. He doesn't believe in sitting back and waiting on things to be handed to you. If you want something, you work for it. His parents taught him that and they are very proud of their son for learning that from them.

Because Roxroy is so self confident he can come off as very arrogant. He's headstrong and stubborn- incapable of giving up when it's well past time to do so and doesn't let go of things easily. Though he's generally a nice guy he holds some pretty harsh grudges against people who are actually able to cross him in some way. Rocky also tends to be more intellectual than he is emotional. He looks at things from a realistic and critical perspective- he's much more rational than he is emotional. Because of this when people talk to him or ask for advice he tends to be that person who gives you that harsh dose of reality and the swift kick in the ass that you really need. But he isn't trying to be mean- Rocky just tells it like it is, he doesn't sugar coat things. Although he is a trustworthy friend he can be rather unreliable. It's not uncommon for him to make so many plans he can't keep them all an to end up apologizing or accidentally ditching someone out of being forgetful or having too much going on.


History: Roxroy is from a mixed heritage- and it is something he has always reaped the benefits of. Growing up he split his time between the family home in Ireland as well as visiting family in Barbados as well as in Portugal. His parents have always been very open about their heritage and have worked hard to teach Rocky as much as they could about where they came from and have always impressed upon him the importance of family and the importance of knowing who you are and being true to your self. He thrived as a child because of his world experiences and because of the close attention he received from his mom and dad.

Growing up in a port town was a lot of fun for Rocky. He loved going fishing and he learned how to swim and also how to sail a boat when he was young. The sea is one of his favorite places and he finds it very soothing and inspiring. The sound of waves lapping against the side of a boat always relaxes him. Of course Roxroy knew that he'd be a wizard some day- his father was a wizard and his mother was a witch. Rocky couldn't wait to learn magic. He always asked his parents to show him things and they were more than happy to buy him books. He was disappointed he'd be going to Hogwarts instead of a school with one of his many cousins- but he was born and raised in Ireland. (His parents ended up there after his mother took a job with a very large nursery- she was a whiz at Herbology and couldn't refuse the opportunity to work in one of the most world renownd plant nurseries in the world.)

Roxroy's favorite book as a child was about a wandmaker. He's wanted to learn how to make wands and be a great, famous wandmaker since he was eight or nine years old. His parents always fostered him in this and got him all they could to help him learn about wandmaking and about wands in general. Rocky was desperate to get to Hogwarts and start working toward his dream- and to learn all about magic and make some friends and have the time of his life in magic school. Even if he couldn't be with his cousins he could still learn.

He was sorted into Ravenclaw after some debate- the hat was torn between that and Hufflepuff. But his determination to achieve such a prestigious dream and the desire to learn all he could won out in the end.

Rocky thrived in Ravenclaw. He learned early on he had housemates who could challenge him intellectually and who could aid him in learning what he needed and help him if he struggled. He fostered close friendships with people in his house and out of it. Roxroy was always a nice guy who enjoyed getting to know about other people- he soaked up knowledge about his friends and even strangers like a sponge- so he didn't find it hard to make friends. As he got older he chose his electives based on what would be the best for his wand making. Care of Magical Creatures was a necessity for wand cores- and he wanted runes because he'd read about runic wands in one of his many books. After his fifth year- where he had amazing OWL scores- he only kept up in the classes he thought he'd need to learn to make wands.

He spent the summers after his fifth and his sixth year working apprenticing in a wand shop. One year he apprenticed in a wand shop in Barbados and another in Portugal. Rocky hopes to get a job working at Ollivander's when he graduates so he can learn all he can from the great Ollivander and get tips on how to make wands. He's determined that one of these days he will have his own shop.

Of course now that he's a seventh year he's spent the last couple of years having fun as any teenager would. His classes are important to him, but so are his friends. Rocky loves going to quidditch games (he doesn't play, though) and enjoys just hanging out and having fun. He's a fan of gillyweed and liked drinking firewhiskey now and then. Roxroy is all about just chilling, hanging out, and everyone getting along.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Rocky has a few different Ravenclaw traits. He is very intelligent and good at magic- he studies hard because he has big dreams of one day being a great wandmaker and making a name for himself in the Wizarding world like Ollivander did. So he's also got the dreamy aspect of Ravenclaw and is artistic in the sense of working with his hands and he is mechanically inclined.
