Character Birthday & Age: November 15th, 1994
City & Country of Birth: Oxford, England
Pureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn: Halfblood (1/4 Veela)
House & Year: Ravenclaw 6th Year

Wand: 11 inch bendy intricately decorated poplar wand with unicorn hair core.

Physical Description:
Build: Slender, but still round. She appears "fleshy" (in her own words), others would say squishy. good for cuddling.
Height: 5'2 the shortest member of her family. This was one of the many factors that lead the Grimstone's to believe she hadn't inherited the family Veela traits.
Hair: Blonde, more dirty blonde as a child shifting to golden as she grew older.
Eyes: Large and blue, often giving the impression of naivety or surprise (neither of which is ever the case, or hardly ever)
Skin tone / Complexion: Very clear, very soft, very pale. This is perhaps the one trait she shares with her mother and sisters, though she hasn't ever taken any particular care with attaining or maintaining her complexion.
Style Influence: Her style is ever evolving. Nine months out of the year she lives in a uniform and for that she keeps things very basic and to the letter of the dress code. She doesn't push the limits the way may of her classmates do simply because function over form. At sixteen she is starting to dabble, but still finds fashion to be rather intimidating.

Personality Description:
It seems most natural that as the daughter of a half-Veela Ettie would be born under a star sign who's leading characteristic is "magnetic charisma". Unlike her mother and three older sisters Ettie has never quite known what to do with attention once she has it. in the rare moments she stops being nearly terminally awkward and more than a little unsure of herself, she can give the best of her house a run for their money on wit and determination alone. As the result of an interspecies marriage she has always somehow felt inherently other when it comes to the magical world, possessing a sensitivity that some might call "acute" while others would lean more toward "hyper". In reality it probably depends entirely on who is saying what and when. Within the confines of the family home Ettie is more likely to prickle and huff at any off hand remark made by her flawless mother and goddess sisters where as at school she seems almost impervious to sometimes blatant cruelty. Or perhaps it is more accurate to say more she knows cruelty has very little to do with her, while needling comments from family members (even if they aren't particularly meant to be needling) seem to bruise her on a cellular level.

A late bloomer, it's only been in the last year that Ettie has adjusted to the ways in which her body is changing. She was late to the game when it came to being remotely interested in things like fashion or makeup (despite the family business). In her early childhood she thought this set her apart for her sisters, another sign that she wasn't really like them (though being like them isn't a terrible fate objectively). When it all finally happened she worried (and still worries) that it says something strange about her as a person, that she's begun to sell herself out. It's an internal conflict that mostly goes unspoken because she's fairly sure no one would understand and might actually think she sounds bloody barmy. From her position looking out it seems that every single girl she knows just excels at whatever feminine thing they try while she's still struggling to master walking in heels.

Post her "blossoming" (as her mother and grand-mère refer to it) Etta became preoccupied with the idea that she might never know whether someone genuinely liked her or if she were some how influencing them and for a time she withdrew from most social interactions. Reaching the halfway mark of her 5th year her attitude is changing as she's gaining perspective and control over her "gift" and the lesser traits of her star sign; especially the moderate (but unspoken) jealousy she felt toward her sisters for how early and easily they seemed to catch on to the weaponized femininity their mother wields with such precision.

History:
Genevieve Sinclair met Roman Grimstone while on holiday in Blackpool at the very tender age of twenty-one. He was at least ten years her senior off the cuff just looking at him, but there was a soft sweetness to his face that she became immediately enamored with. She had, up to that point, been doing small modeling jobs for various beautification potions but had rather lofty ambitions of starting her own company, something Roman supported wholeheartedly. From the moment they met he respected her drive and independent spirit (unlike most men, as her mother would interject into the story right about now). It was a fast courtship and equally small wedding ceremony to cap it all off. His parents were old wizarding world and didn't believe in interspecies dating let alone marriage. Eventually, when the Grimstone Spa and Apothecary gave way with Grimstone cosmetics and beauty enhancements they changed their tune, but Ettie's mother has never forgotten, nor has she let her children forget.

It was four years into the marriage and business dealings when the first daughter (Hélène) came along like a glowing ray of sunshine and spring time beauty. Next there was Josseline, then Brigitte all born relatively close together and a whopping six years later along surprise baby number for, itty bitty Georgette. Looking back over their baby years it seems almost inevitable that Ettie would have felt separated from her sisters, not only because of the age gap but because they seemed to be picture perfect stunning creatures from the moment they exited the womb, where has she was more round than anything the first four years of her life. They may have all share the same creamy skin and bright blue eyes but Ettie insists there was something (disturbingly) alluring about her sisters even as children. Given the fact that they work in fashion, cosmetics, and being famous for being pretty respectively, it might be hard to argue with the littlest Grimstone.

Still, she was a happy and curious child, spending her days with her father while her mother worked to build an actual empire out of the few scraps her in-laws had allowed she and Roman to have, while he puttered in the garden and experimented with medicinal potions and the like. From the first time she was old enough to remember watching her sisters leave for Hogwarts she wanted desperately to go with them, sure that she would be a Ravenclaw and also sure that she'd bring home the House Cup. She had a keen interest in how things worked and would often take them apart just to figure out how to put them back together- a quirk her father found endearing and her mother found inconvenient at best.

By the time she was eleven and it was time to leave for Hogwarts there were subtle whispers between her family members about her lack of...Veela-ness. She didn't really understand what it meant, so much as that it made her different than her sisters and her mother. It wasn't until her own research turned up some ambiguous answers that she began to think of herself as defective. but in this case defective meant normal didn't it? Only by the time she'd settled this all in her mind her body had started to change (in unfortunate ways she would later decide). Finally the puberty stick hit her and knocked her clean off her feet. The signs were small at first but never the less still there and she's spent the better part of two years trying to learn to control something she feels ill equipped to deal with most days.

Very curious and very ambitious, Ettie loves learning for the sake of knowing stuff. Books make sense, potions and plants are easy, she can handle those things. Social navigation is hard

Sum up your character in one paragraph:
Ettie is a small curious witchling who's ambition and sensitivity might be the end of her. Though she be but tiny she is fierce as hell and won't let anyone forget it, except when she does because she catches a case of terminal awkward. She'll get the hang of heels and Veela charm some day?

Special Ability

Character Name: Ettie Grmstone
Age: 16
Character Biography: bio
Do any of your other Characters have Special Abilities?: Yes
If Yes, then Please provide their name and a link to their bio: Sophie Flickwick - Seer (Bio)

Waverly Roh-Ballentyne - Animagus (Bio) inactive

Special Ability: Veela Charm

What level is this ability at?: Beginner

At what age did your character gain this ability?: Birth, but more specifically puberty

How did they learn or hone this ability?:
Unlike her sisters who seemed to come out of the womb knowing how to charm the world into giving them anything they wanted there was some doubt as to whether or not Ettie would even possess the charm. It didn't manifest itself in any truly noticeable way until she was thirteen and finally went through puberty.

She lacks any real control over the ability, still adjusting to the fact it exists within her after she'd accepted (and sort of rejoiced) being off the hook when it came to all the Veela-ness.

Describe how the Special Ability influences their life.  What do they use it for?:
For the most part all her ability does is give her a complex about how much people actually like her because of who she is and how much of it is because she's oozed charm at them.

She lacks any finite control over the ability and it sort of sneaks up on her in various ways. It's a subtle thing, that seems to happen most when she is fully engaging with someone and wants them to admire or like her. The more she likes them the more likely it is her ability will get away from her.

Write a description of what happens when your character is exhibiting this Special Ability: There isn't anything too drastic, she doesn't suddenly glow or or shimmer. It's more a subtle blossoming, her eyes seem a little brighter, her laugh a touch more infectious. Those affected by the Charm mostly feel a heightening of attraction or affection that (in most cases) already existed.
