Full Character Name: Isla Eileen Spectre
Character Birthday & Age: September 1, 1996
City & Country of Birth: Edinburgh, Scotland
Pureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn: Pureblood
House & Year: 3rd Year Hufflepuff

Wand:
Rowan wood, unicorn hair core, springy with a bent shaft and knotted handle. Not the prettiest of wands, which was a mild disappointment when she was paired with it.  11 inches even.

Physical Description:
Isla has a round face, broad forehead, and a soft, barely defined jaw. Her round eyes are blue and framed with short, blonde lashes. When she was younger, her hair was more of a strawberry blond, but as she has gotten older it’s become more of a vibrant orange like many Spectres. With high cheekbones, and a pointed chin and nose, she takes after her mother, though her coloring is closer to that of her father’s.  Her hair is usually braided in some way; Isla loves braiding hair, and has likely braided most of her classmates'.

Her third year has marked a huge growth spurt for Isla.  In September, she stood at a solid 5'4. Throughout the school year she has steadily grown, and settled in June at 5'9. She has some more growing to do, and Isla is just a bit insecure about her new body, wide ribcage, and the stretch marks that come with growing so fast in such a short period of time.  It makes her cringe when her mother marvels at how she is ‘growing up’ and ‘almost a lady.’ Her movements are more clumsy and awkward than they are athletic and graceful. She loves to play quidditch, but she’s particularly good at getting hit by bludgers so it’s not usually the best idea.

Her face is expressive-- it is difficult for her to hide what she is feeling. Isla’s cheeks flush at any bit of emotion, and she is just as quick to smile and laugh as she is to cry out of anger and frustration.

Personality Description:
Isla is a daydreamer and may be accused by others of not always being in touch with ‘reality.’ she is more likely to doodle rather than take notes during class. It is easy to label her as somebody who doesn’t pay attention, but lessons have to have an active component to it for her to focus. If she’s required to sit and listen to a lecture, chances are she won’t retain anything. Isla learns by doing more so than she does by reading out of a book.

She is soft-hearted and sweet, but easily hurt by rejection and criticism. She is curious to the point of recklessness, and not the wittiest of her peers. Isla struggles to find clever comebacks to insults, and it takes her a little longer to figure out riddles and poems. She is not good at reading sarcasm and tends to take people literally. Dry humor is totally lost on her; Isla’s sense of humor is more silly, goofy, and odd--like a dopey golden retriever.

A bit forgetful, Isla often asks her peers if they have an extra quill she can borrow or if they can share the text. Her mother bought her a remembrall, but she lent it to somebody else and has forgotten who.

As compassionate, sweet, and empathetic as Isla is, there is one creature she has zero compassion for: geese. They’re terrible. They are bad, and they should feel bad.

History:
Isla is the second child of Benneit Spectre and Apolline Vaillancourt. Her father runs The Croft, which is the Spectre family’s hippogriff farm. Her mother grooms and shows the prize hippogriffs. Isla grew up in Edinburgh, surrounded by Spectres and very close to her family. Her cousin, Aisling Cooper, babysat her frequently when she was little. As a result, she feels very close to her cousin and is likely to go to her for advice.

Growing up, she had plenty of pets-- owls, cats, dogs, reptiles, and rodents. Isla loved each one like a family member, and mourned each one when they passed. Her family currently owns a husky-- and she is so disappointed that she cannot have it as her pet at Hogwarts. Every year she laments that she can’t take Maverick with her to school, but she finds comfort in the fact that her rat, Roquefort (Rocky) is permitted. Sometimes she brings him into class with her, but assures her professors that he is perfectly well behaved for a rat, and won’t cause any trouble. To be fair, he usually is well behaved-- except for the occasional panicked squeaking.

At the sorting ceremony, the hat had barely touched her head before declaring that she was to be put in Hufflepuff. For a brief moment, she had been disappointed-- Isla had been absolutely convinced that she would have been placed in Gryffindor like her dad. But, Hufflepuff wasn’t exactly an unusual house for a Spectre to be in, and her sense of pride in her placement grew with their support.

With her friendly demeanor, Isla didn’t have a problem connecting with her peers. She finds it easy to make friends. Despite the fact that she has a tendency to ask professors inane questions such as “What color are you today?” she is usually a well behaved student who generally gets along with the staff.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?:
