I’m so sorry I haven’t written back to you – I did get your letter last week, and I intended to respond… I just found it in my arithmancy book...  I must have put it there by accident (while I was revising) and I wanted to jot a quick note back to you. 

I’ve got three essays due and a practical in potions that I am dreading.  I also have rounds tonight and must meet with Theo to discuss March events and rounds.  Scheduling, you know.

Hello beautiful - I hope your exams and essays went well. I don’t miss that part of school at all. Mostly I just miss those late nights we spent in the Astronomy tower. It feels a little strange not to be preparing for exams and things like you are. Work has its own deadlines, but it’s much different. Really, I mostly make up my own deadlines. The rest of the staff seems preoccupied with something, but I’m just sticking to my area. They seem pleased that things are easier to find, now that I’ve organized. I still feel like I have a lot of organizing to do - I don’t know how they were able to find anything at all. The former system seems to be the product of a complete madman.

How are your classes going? I assume by now you’ve finished with those essays and exams - and aced them, of course. I know you’re going to do wonderfully this year, and go on to do great things. Much more important things than alphabetizing and sorting, that’s for sure.

I can’t wait to see you again! Do you know what is happening with the next Hogsmeade weekend? I assume they are going to bolster up on security in the area, but hopefully that won’t interfere too much with us meeting up. Do you want to do anything special? I’m sure after all of those exams you’ll be needing a shopping spree at Honeydukes… I would.

Still preparing for NEWTS. They’re not until the end of the year, you know that.  But, I also have a parchment due in the morning – it never ends.

Sounds like you’re keeping busy though, that’s good.  You’re very good at organizing, so I’m glad they appreciate your work. 

I haven’t even had a moment to ask about Hogsmeade. I’ll let you know.

Sounds like things are really busy. Not sure if you noticed, but you wrote 'Slythering'... you must be really freaking out! It is a pretty funny image, you as a snake slithering around. You'd make a very cool snake I think, something shiny and dark. 'Hufflepuffing' doesn't sound nearly as cool. It sounds more like a bratty elf holding their breath.

I hope your revision is going well, or continues to go well. I know you're working very hard and I'm so proud of you. Don't stress yourself out too much; you've already accomplished so much. Like I alway say, you can do this! I would bet my life on your success without a second thought.

Let me know about Hogsmeade when you get a chance. I can't wait to see you, my shiny slythering snake. I love you.

Obviously I am freaking out.  I’m so sorry a stray mark on the page was an egregious error. 

 I’m probably failing charms now[1] and I have an exceptionally difficult potions assignment coming up.  I have loads of parchments to write and a Defense project to work on.  It’s also almost time to submit everything but my NEWT scores to Mungo’s. 

I hope my spelling has improved for your taste.  I’m glad you’re so confident because I’ve got to go and begin rounds.

I'm so sorry if I made you feel bad. I hope you know that I really admire you - your ambition, dedication, all of it. I'm always happy to hear from you, even if you were to write me in a dead language  that I don't understand.
Take all the time you need working, focus on that, I'll still be here and I can't wait to hear about how well it all went.
