Josie lowered the car. They got so close to the water. It was like driving on it. She slowed the car down. Monty was a good instructor. She could forget she was writing an article! This was soooo much fun.
"Can I look out?" Josie asked. "Is it safe?!" She did not see the geese up ahead.

Monty should have realised that the magic of a flying car might have superseded any discussion about Minister Zephyr and bringing famous magical American celebrities over to Britain to promote a change in the law. Though he suspected Josie was listening, nothing seemed to get past her entirely.

Can I look out?
“Here I’ll take the wheel.” Monty offered, and gestured a gentle shrug to her. He reached over with his right hand to seize the wheel with his left as they slowed over the surface of the reservoir. He chuckled to himself as he watched Josie lean out, but realised with a start there were geese in their path. He pulled at the wheel, turning the car left and out of their way, but risking pulling Josie back into the car with a bump. The air rushing around the geese unsettled them and they began to flap and honk noisily. Better that than turn right and risk depositing Josie into the water…

“No reflection, yeah?” Monty asked rhetorically, “only chance a Muggle would know you were there, would be if you disturbed something. Less intrusive than a broom. Here, I’ll take over again.” He guided the car further away from the geese over the water so it was safe to scramble back round Josie to take the driver’s seat again. “You got any questions then, Josie?”

HONK HONK HONK!
"Woooo!" Josie yelped. She clung to the door. "Those geese do not know what happened! They will not tell the Muggles." She sat down again. Josie had a big smile on her face. "Yes we are invisible! That is so cool. This is better than a broom."

Josie let Mr Pepper take over. She looked at her notes.

...Charms were put on the car. They helped you change direction. Illegal in Britain. Switch to make it fly. Not as wobbly as a broom. Goes up quick. Invisible. Birds feel air pressure. Can charm to repel birds. 20 ft. Americans like to fly with the eagles. Can not hear it. Does not use petrol. Can make it use petrol for people who live near muggles. A few British customers. Want to make it legal. Safer than a broom. Fit the whole family. Not illegal to bring cars in with no charms. Illegal to bring them in with charms. Gears make it go up and down when flying. 4000 feet. 90mph without a charm on the ground. 120mph in the air. Not recommended. In America trying to break records for air races. Motorbike goes faster. Think it is illegal because flying cars might happen for muggles. If they saw a broom they would not believe their eyes. Ministry is scared. HP and RW flew Arthur Weasley's car. Obliviators. Statute. Would take Zephyr for drive. Too conservative. Dementors with Francis and Gabrielle. No reflection or shadow.

"How much would it cost?" Josie asked. "Can I interview one of your customers?"

“Well,” Monty replied, “about a couple of thousand galleons - give or take importing, charms - which model you wanted to buy. We personalise the cars, preferably.” He shrugged a little, turning the wheel and climbing the car up into the air above the reservoir. “And I’m sure I can get you an audience with one or two - I mean there’s less of them over here, pet, but they’d be more persuasive. Only best to be careful how you go, stop the Muggle Artefacts office knocking on their doors.” Monty warned, changing gear as they gained more height and speed.

“Now, tell you what, we’ll head back and have a look at the bike. Catherine will be home sometime in the next hour see, don’t want to get us both in trouble.” He winked, and turned the car south, towards home.
