Office of the Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Minerva McGonagall
Ira Almasy
House of Atreus
Knightsbridge, London

Madame Almasy,

I wanted to drop you a line to say thank you, most sincerely, for allowing Raine to return to Hogwarts sooner than expected. Though it was unexpected to have your niece arrive earlier than expected, I must say that it came not a moment too soon. Through your innumerous connections, I’m sure you have heard of our recent changings in staff, as well as the new curriculum imposed by the Wizarding Examination Authority regarding NEWT and OWL students.

It was a happy accident that Raine arrived back at school when she did, and I am thoroughly grateful that she did. Though earlier than our previous discussion, I believe Raine could not have arrived any later and had any chance of passing her examinations. Though I am sure you are more than an adequate teacher, wizarding examinations are set to a different standard and Raine will need the chance to reacquaint herself with our ever evolving staff and changes in protocol.

With the recent  unpleasantries surrounding  our school, I can understand reservations about allowing your niece to continue her education here, but I assure you that every protection possible has been put in place to ensure the safety of your loved one – as well as every other charge under my control.

It has also, regretfully, come to my attention that Raine left your tutelage without your permission and I can assure you that she has been punished for such an infraction.

Thank you for your time and understanding,

Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Elder of the Wizengamot
Order of Merlin – First Class

Headmistress,

I thank you for your kind note, much lengthier than the notice left behind by my niece. As Reinka is of age there is little I can do to prevent her from choosing a more commonplace path of education - I trust that her punishment was not too harsh. It was obvious to me that she greatly missed her peers.

There is no doubt in my mind that she is safe in your institution. I can think of none who mean her harm.

Yours,

I.A.
