Dearest Hattie,
I hope you are faring well back at school. The house is so much quieter without you. I quite miss you! Wildflower does as well, when I’ve gone to the barn, I make sure to check in on her and give her a few sugar cubes- I know that’s what you would want! Blue is looking well, by the by, I know we hoped the foal might be born while you were at home – but it looks as though it will be a few weeks still. She’s healthy, very round – like an oversized quaffle grazing the fields, since flying is just out of the question, poor thing.
On less joyous news: we’ve received an invitation to the Prewetts for the patriarch’s birthday – did Mum write you about it? I’m sure she was very excited, if she did.
I am dreading the occasion, however. Wasn’t it just Christmas? Honestly, does anyone even have the
energy to throw a party now?
I’ll get back to that later, though – now about
you! How are your classes? I’m sure you’re doing well, you’ve always been bright – but I know how things seem to get much more
serious after holiday break in fifth year! You’re almost a NEWTS student! I couldn’t be more proud. Do you know what subjects you’re going to continue to take? If you do, I can always send my school books - I kept meticulous notes, not that you need my help, but I want you to do well!
What your next Hogsmeade weekend: have you planned that, yet? It’s on Valentine’s weekend, isn’t it? Do
not get dragged into Madame Puddifoot’s, no matter what. As a matter of fact, maybe I will just show up that weekend to make sure. I, obviously, do not have
any plans for that weekend!
Can’t say the same for our dear sisters – Marigold’s been strange (though this should not be a surprise), she has been around what seems like less than usual. I suspect there could be something going on… and Maree, well, it always seems like she could make plans on a moment’s notice! (It’s that nice thing; people seem to respond to it.)
I have been far too busy anyhow: preparing for a presentation in early February. I’m being heard on my reform protocols for the full moon. I am
sure this will be a brilliant step forward! Pray some felix felicius ends up in my hands!
I cannot wait to hear from you!
Love,
Prim
