Physical Description:

Edgar is one of the many Morgan victims of gaunt eyes, although his heterochromia  - green right eye, brown left eye - sets him apart. At 6’1’’, he is considered to be rather tall and is not above wearing heels to emphasise the effect.

The wizard might have had a slender, effeminate build in youth - of late he has developed more muscle and flesh, though he maintains a sprightly sense of body language. Edgar’s features are very fine - androgynous, really, with calm eyes and thin, self-satisfied lips. Beautiful. He wears make-up, depending on the event, but not on a daily basis. His dirt blonde hair sports strands of premature grey.

Edgar is in possession of a vast, diverse wardrobe - from ballroom gowns to sequin shorts. He enjoys well tailored three piece suits but is mostly seen around town in wool trousers and plain shirts, complete with flashy accoutrement.

Personality Description:

A man very interested in his work but likes to consider himself widely read and widely lived in spite of the fact that he never sat for his NEWTs. He has always been interested in connecting with people on a genuine level and for that reason many might consider him too intense - cuts through small talk like hot knife through butter.

Edgar believes that people should embrace their uniqueness, as he loves the mystery of the strange and the unknown. He is a technically skilled wizard (excelled at Charms) and especially gifted at sleights of hand.

While he has a reputation for being wildly dramatic as a result of his occupation and youth, he is internally more laid back nowadays, though still visibly eccentric from the outside. Much like his son he has an eerie way of discerning personality traits and finding just the right nerve to step on - he likes to to think outside of the box and to analyse philosophical subjects out loud. Edgar maintains a curious sense of humour towards all things.

He keeps work separate from family but would bring his children (and willing nieces/nephews) to his theatre whenever possible - he loves them all very much and is grateful for them, if sometimes in a distracted way. Edgar spends his days off writing at home, visiting his menagerie, and organising his collection of musical instruments.

History:

Younger brother to Artur Morgan (heir, whose son Darian is current heir). Edgar Morgan never had any real direction in his youth, excelled brilliantly at a couple of classes in Hogwarts but dropped out after achieving three OWLs and gifting his favourite professor at the time a silver rainbow cape he’d made himself.

While he kept it on paper, Edgar went on not to use his surname after being disowned by his family - a decision made by his eldest brother who did not particularly approve of his openminded politics, and who did not wish to compete as heir. Edgar had little use for the name while he worked a couple of years as a costume maker for wizarding plays across London, before finally putting out his first musical play with a pair of friends. In this time he went by his stage name: Aloysius Threepwood, Sensational Wizard Pirate and Mediocre Musician.

In 1984, after one of his older classmates (Angela Carstairs) graduated from Hogwarts, Edgar proposed to her. She agreed the third time he asked and the pair had their first child, Adelaide, the following year. Angela was charmed by her husband - he was unequivocally strange but never seemed to acknowledge his own strangeness, always coming across as confident and purposeful.

He wrote her songs when she was still in Hogwarts, visited at Hogsmeade weekends, sent photographs of the theatre that made her laugh. It came down to that - being able to make her laugh. As they grew older, it was his unerring loyalty and determination that kept the couple together. She is still sometimes taken by surprise when she comes home to music on the wireless and her darling husband dancing with the coatrack.

It was only in the 90’s that Edgar managed to gather enough popularity and money (of his own) to found his own playhouse. The Stardust Theatre is located just in London's theatre district, Convent Garden - to this day they maintain the same routines. A bar is open on weekday afternoons, with acoustic performances in the theatre. Tickets are two knuts each and it is a well known place for ragtag artists to be ‘discovered’. In the evenings (and weekend afternoons) a theatrical show is usually performed.

While his wife worked diligently at her trade business - and the fantastic garden parties they threw in summer - Edgar went in to his theatre every single day for years. He took his daughter in to help or watch whenever he could. And when Virgil was born, he took his son in as well. Up until recently he also brought his youngest (Cecil).

Every year, the theatre will stop playing one of Edgar’s plays for a whole month. A guest playwright and performer would take precedence while Edgar retreats to Oxfordshire to spend time with his family.

In the early 2000s, when Stardust was beginning to make more than enough profit to keep it afloat, Edgar accepted his wife’s offer to establish their own little canine menagerie in Godric's Hollow, as the two were very fond of their three dogs (one for each child). It is run by former Magizoologists and is warded against muggles. Edgar drops in once a week to check on the animals and play with them.

He has a good relationship with his family, though his youngest is definitely a mother’s boy. Closer to Adelaide and Virgil, Edgar is proud of his daughter’s success as a solicitor but has a soft spot for his Leglimens son, though he worries about Virgil’s irregular talents.

Once a month Edgar clears the help (and with Cecil gone to Hogwarts, the children) from their townhouse and prepares a home cooked meal for Angela. They eat and dance, he sings for her. She tells him about nice things that have happened to her recently. Neither resurface in civil society until noon the next day.

Describe your job duties and how you go about them:

Aloysius Threepwood performs his latest musical numbers three times a week - twice on Sunday, once on Saturday night. He drops in once during the weekday to watch acoustic performances and help around backstage (like he used to when he first began) for the shows/concerts being performed that night. Every now and then he books a solid night up to sing tunes from his old musicals, complete with outlandish make up and electric guitar - Aloysius usually performs to a full house.

Edgar spends some nights in a little bedroom he keeps in the theatre and often visits his canine menagerie on a weekly basis, sometimes with his wife or daughter. He likes to take the animals out for walks, is considered good with most creatures, and knows a little about breeding.

The wizard might be satisfied with his professional career but now that he has more free time, with two adult children and one at Hogwarts, he is committed to writing another musical play for the stage. It is likely to take the better part of the next two years. Nonetheless, in spite of his overactive and imaginative enterprises, Edgar is an exceedingly patient man.

Elaborate on your expertise in your field:

Edgar has few official qualifications besides his OWLS but he has worked in theatre since he left Hogwarts at sixteen to pursue an artistic career.

While there have been ups and downs in his path - often financially supported by his more wealthy and conventionally employed wife - Edgar has been nothing if not persistent in applying himself to the theatre. He now owns his own playhouse, see above for details.
