However, when it is completely down one will notice that it is simply the ends (and bottom layers) of her hair beginning to turn strawberry blonde against her almost platinum top layers. Over time, she has taken to layering out a few strands to frame her face, and they just barely hold the strawberry blonde colouring as some are from the bottom layers.A delicate face peers out behind her Rapunzel locks, soft features with a somewhat sharper jawline are emphasized by her brilliant gold eyes against skin one might say is the colour of Snow White’s given the right lighting. Should the light hit it correctly, the gold matches that of her golden heart pendant locket. Commonly, she will apply just a tinge of eyeliner or eyeshadow to compliment her facial structure a little bit better, though she doesn’t need blush as her complexion already keeps a little bit of pink to her cheeks. Her lips are small, with a thicker lower lip that almost gives the illusion that she is either pouting or biting her top lip. Often, they are almost situated in a frown, though (if you can catch her laughing) her smile stretches widely across her face in an almost lopsided grin.Res tends to feel comfortable in more reserved clothing. If she is to wear a dress then it would be loose and falling (at the very least) halfway down her calves, or along the floor. She tries to ensure that the clothing she wears is not too tight (so as to cling to every inch of her bodice) or too loose (so as to drown her in fabric). If she ever had to wear a swimsuit (which she found to be an abhorrent idea), it would cover her entire mid-section and most of her back. Even then, she would wear a cover-up to ensure that she was not being too revealing in nature. Ballet flats are her shoes of choice, though if she needed to fancy up she could easily put on a six-inch pair of heels and be completely comfortable.PersonalityShe may seem odd to you, at first glance. Should you pass by her you might notice that she is tapping a finger upon her leg in groups of three, or that she seems to be counting each tick-tick-tick from the second hand on the clock. Alas, much of these tendencies toward counting repetitive things (be it sounds, breaths, or movements) are there as a coping mechanism. Sheltered, with minimal interaction with those who were not her ‘family’ (be it blood or adoption), she is afraid of most of the world. Intelligent as she is, this fear has made her clam up when it comes to social situations, often resulting in trembling or fainting (depending on the severity of the situation). This fear of the outside world, when coupled with pressure of unmet expectations of others has made her prone to panic attacks if she feels overtly threatened. Alas, if you earn her trust she would do anything in the world for you. That trust, though? It is a very difficult thing to earn from her. She knows love, she can feel it with Kayden – an unrelenting trust and care for someone, but she is afraid to give it away. In fact, she is afraid of most men in general – especially those that tower above five feet ten inches. She keeps a wide berth from them, and has been known to jump if one touches her unexpectedly. Along with this fear comes recurrent nightmares, which could cause her to wake up with the beginnings of a panic attack.Yet she isn’t a china doll that no one is allowed to touch or get near. In fact, regardless of her fear of (well) everything, she has a strong interest in healing and taking care of others. She is drawn to those that are suffering in the hopes that she might be able to help them get better. There are times, however, where she will blame herself if their suffering only gets worse (regardless of if she had affected such outcomes or not). Should you see her with Kayden, you will notice that she can laugh and smile. She also is very capable of speaking her mind with him – the mother hen instinct being drawn out. Though, she truly does love him and trusts him to protect her should something go awry. She seems at ease in books, and is good with finding ways to store knowledge. She tends to carry around random facts that she garnered from reading something, somewhere, and she tries to find ways to put them to good use. If she is not messing with herbs and trying to find new ways to heal and protect she can be found with her head in a book, curled up under blankets in the corner of the common room, with her back against the wall. It is her general attempt at hiding from the world, while still being able to garner new information about those who walk around.HistoryResalyn was born into two strongly differing families. Her mother, Joanne Nicole, was a witch (of what status and rank her father knows not). She had spent some time around Joseph Crane and had grown very close as she helped him with his herbs. Joseph had noticed some of her magic – realized that she had to a witch, after getting over the shock that such things were true – but he never brought the subject up. They courted for a short period of time, before she received an urgent message from her family to return. At the time, she hadn’t known she was pregnant. However, once she had the child the problems had not calmed down and it was not safe to try and raise a child in such a situation. So, she gave the baby girl to a friend and asked for her to be given to Joseph Crane. A note was also left simply saying: “It is not safe to raise a child here. She is yours, of that I can promise. She need not know of me until she is older – I fear she might come looking… and get herself killed in the process. Much love, Jo xx”Joseph named her Resalyn, and never really told her of her mother (other than that he believed she had died). He also never brought up the magical heritage that was in her blood (hoping that if he never spoke of it that she wouldn’t get herself in trouble). He raised her to learn the basics of working with herbs and allowed her to volunteer at the local infirmary with him. Most of what she did was bring patients food, and help cheer up the patients (as young children often did), but she still had a strong desire to help those that she could.It was at the age of nine that problems arose. A local boy’s family was murdered (though she didn’t know that exactly, as her father only told her that Kayden was an orphan), and she was the assigned volunteer for him in the infirmary. He was only a little bit older than she – but already a few inches taller. She tried to be sure that he ate, that he was going to be okay, and made a point to visit with him for at least thirty minutes a day outside of her volunteer work there. In fact, it reached the point that she ended up begging her father to take him in so that he wouldn’t have to go through the foster care system. And, in the end, he gave in.She was used to his lack of words, and in fact, she tried to speak to him instead. Though, she was perfectly at ease in his silence, especially as he came to help her in the gardens and followed her around most everywhere. He was bullied a little as she reached the age of ten, and (meek as she was) she tried to make others stop it. Alas, her attempts at making them quit only caused them to target her as well. It was these moments of her being bullied that had Kayden step out of his shell, protecting her with ease.They found out about their magic that same year, and tried to practice it together. Joseph finally told her that her mother had been a witch (admitting he knew nothing about magic himself) and when the letter was delivered via owl, he accepted that he would lose both of his children to the ‘wizarding world’ as Resalyn called it.The first few years of school were good, garnering supplies together and even both ending up in the Hufflepuff house. But, as she turned fifteen the worst happened. They had gone home for Christmas, and she had been walking back late from the infirmary. She had persuaded Kayden to go back home and warn her father that she would be staying for a few more hours – that some of the people didn’t have family for the holidays and she wanted to make sure they were comfortable. It was in her nature after all. By the time she had left it was eleven o’clock. Of course, she thought nothing of it – wrapping herself up tightly in her jacket and heading back in the brisk weather. She doesn’t know who it was, though she recognized the hospital emblem upon the shirt, but she was attacked on the way back. When it hit midnight and she hadn’t returned, though, Kayden had gotten worried and headed back only to find her crumpled in a corner, unconscious. He had carried her back, and Kayden and her father had taken care of her until they returned to Hogwart’s. Since then she has shrunk away from any other male figure, and fallen mostly silent except for when in Kayden’s company. This event is also what began her panic attacks and her coping mechanisms. Each stroke was counted, and she ensured that each portion of hair was groomed with at least six strokes of the brush. Gold eyes peered back at her dimly lit room through the mirror. She was more traditional, and preferred candlelight in the morning and late at the evening (just before bed). It comforted her nerves to smell the lavender scent that she always chose. Her bed had been made, and as the morning light filtered in through the window she flicked her wand to blow out the candles and allow natural light in.Her fingers worked carefully, forming intricate patterns of braids and loops with her tresses in order to pull her locks back and out of her way. As she finished, she pulled out her white button up shirt and her floor-length black skirt. A yellow vest was positioned over the button up shirt, and finally she shrugged herself into the black robe with Hufflepuff cords. Early, as she always was, she grabbed a banana and one of her thickest blankets before making her way to the common room. A book was pulled out from one of the bookshelves (she doesn’t truly care which one it is) and she settles into the corner that provides just enough light for her to read in. The wand was carefully placed in her robe pocket.She’s not sure how long she sat there, almost hidden in the corner, but when she heard the sound of footsteps she came to her feet and folded the blanket up. Draping it over her arm she whispered a “Good morning…” to those which she passed on the way back up to her room. Res laid the blanket across the bottom half of her bed. Alas, much of these tendencies toward counting repetitive things (be it sounds, breaths, or movements) are there as a coping mechanism. Sheltered, with minimal interaction with those who were not her ‘family’ (be it blood or adoption), she is afraid of most of the world. Intelligent as she is, this fear has made her clam up when it comes to social situations, often resulting in trembling or fainting (depending on the severity of the situation). This fear of the outside world, when coupled with pressure of unmet expectations of others has made her prone to panic attacks if she feels overtly threatened. Alas, if you earn her trust she would do anything in the world for you. That trust, though? It is a very difficult thing to earn from her. She knows love, she can feel it with Kayden – an unrelenting trust and care for someone, but she is afraid to give it away. In fact, she is afraid of most men in general – especially those that tower above five feet ten inches. She keeps a wide berth from them, and has been known to jump if one touches her unexpectedly. Along with this fear comes recurrent nightmares, which could cause her to wake up with the beginnings of a panic attack.Yet she isn’t a china doll that no one is allowed to touch or get near. In fact, regardless of her fear of (well) everything, she has a strong interest in healing and taking care of others. She is drawn to those that are suffering in the hopes that she might be able to help them get better. There are times, however, where she will blame herself if their suffering only gets worse (regardless of if she had affected such outcomes or not). Should you see her with Kayden, you will notice that she can laugh and smile. She also is very capable of speaking her mind with him – the mother hen instinct being drawn out. If she is not messing with herbs and trying to find new ways to heal and protect she can be found with her head in a book, curled up under blankets in the corner of the common room, with her back against the wall. It is her general attempt at hiding from the world, while still being able to garner new information about those who walk around.HistoryResalyn was born into two strongly differing families. Her mother, Joanne Nicole, was a witch (of what status and rank her father knows not). She had spent some time around Joseph Crane and had grown very close as she helped him with his herbs. Joseph had noticed some of her magic – realized that she had to a witch, after getting over the shock that such things were true – but he never brought the subject up. They courted for a short period of time, before she received an urgent message from her family to return. At the time, she hadn’t known she was pregnant. However, once she had the child the problems had not calmed down and it was not safe to try and raise a child in such a situation. So, she gave the baby girl to a friend and asked for her to be given to Joseph Crane. A note was also left simply saying: “It is not safe to raise a child here. She is yours, of that I can promise. She need not know of me until she is older – I fear she might come looking… and get herself killed in the process. Much love, Jo xx”Joseph named her Resalyn, and never really told her of her mother (other than that he believed she had died). He also never brought up the magical heritage that was in her blood (hoping that if he never spoke of it that she wouldn’t get herself in trouble). He raised her to learn the basics of working with herbs and allowed her to volunteer at the local infirmary with him. Most of what she did was bring patients food, and help cheer up the patients (as young children often did), but she still had a strong desire to help those that she could.It was at the age of nine that problems arose. A local boy’s family was murdered (though she didn’t know that exactly, as her father only told her that Kayden was an orphan), and she was the assigned volunteer for him in the infirmary. He was only a little bit older than she – but already a few inches taller. She tried to be sure that he ate, that he was going to be okay, and made a point to visit with him for at least thirty minutes a day outside of her volunteer work there. In fact, it reached the point that she ended up begging her father to take him in so that he wouldn’t have to go through the foster care system. And, in the end, he gave in.She was used to his lack of words, and in fact, she tried to speak to him instead. Though, she was perfectly at ease in his silence, especially as he came to help her in the gardens and followed her around most everywhere. He was bullied a little as she reached the age of ten, and (meek as she was) she tried to make others stop it. Alas, her attempts at making them quit only caused them to target her as well. It was these moments of her being bullied that had Kayden step out of his shell, protecting her with ease.They found out about their magic that same year, and tried to practice it together. Joseph finally told her that her mother had been a witch (admitting he knew nothing about magic himself) and when the letter was delivered via owl, he accepted that he would lose both of his children to the ‘wizarding world’ as Resalyn called it.The first few years of school were good, garnering supplies together and even both ending up in the Hufflepuff house. But, as she turned fifteen the worst happened. They had gone home for Christmas, and she had been walking back late from the infirmary. She had persuaded Kayden to go back home and warn her father that she would be staying for a few more hours – that some of the people didn’t have family for the holidays and she wanted to make sure they were comfortable. It was in her nature after all. By the time she had left it was eleven o’clock. Of course, she thought nothing of it – wrapping herself up tightly in her jacket and heading back in the brisk weather. She doesn’t know who it was, though she recognized the hospital emblem upon the shirt, but she was attacked on the way back. When it hit midnight and she hadn’t returned, though, Kayden had gotten worried and headed back only to find her crumpled in a corner, unconscious. He had carried her back, and Kayden and her father had taken care of her until they returned to Hogwart’s. Since then she has shrunk away from any other male figure, and fallen mostly silent except for when in Kayden’s company. This event is also what began her panic attacks and her coping mechanisms. Each stroke was counted, and she ensured that each portion of hair was groomed with at least six strokes of the brush. Gold eyes peered back at her dimly lit room through the mirror. She was more traditional, and preferred candlelight in the morning and late at the evening (just before bed). It comforted her nerves to smell the lavender scent that she always chose. Her bed had been made, and as the morning light filtered in through the window she flicked her wand to blow out the candles and allow natural light in.Her fingers worked carefully, forming intricate patterns of braids and loops with her tresses in order to pull her locks back and out of her way. As she finished, she pulled out her white button up shirt and her floor-length black skirt. A yellow vest was positioned over the button up shirt, and finally she shrugged herself into the black robe with Hufflepuff cords. Early, as she always was, she grabbed a banana and one of her thickest blankets before making her way to the common room. A book was pulled out from one of the bookshelves (she doesn’t truly care which one it is) and she settles into the corner that provides just enough light for her to read in. The wand was carefully placed in her robe pocket.She’s not sure how long she sat there, almost hidden in the corner, but when she heard the sound of footsteps she came to her feet and folded the blanket up. Draping it over her arm she whispered a “Good morning…” to those which she passed on the way back up to her room. Res laid the blanket across the bottom half of her bed.
