[Jan 17th] We Were Growing Older (Gabrielle) on October 02, 2015, 08:43:18 AM A plain letter delivered not by owl but in the care of Secretary to the Head of the Beasts Division, Mrs H Lanningham. She conveys this correspondence with the utmost seriousness. To: G Murray, Department of International Magical CooperationFrom: B SpectreCousin! Forgive brevity, as I have had a hell of a weekend of which events I'm afraid I cannot relate at present. I write now pertaining to the 28th of this month. That is to say, I was hoping you might necessitate some great (but false) working task upon Johann Storm irregardless of it being his birthday. I will be along that morning to perform a kidnapping. You may expect him back the following Monday, in approximate condition, if I have not decided to keep him entirely for myself. Pardon the intrusion - I would not ask if it were not consequential. This said, the 28th should be at your disposal provided he stays on the course, avoiding hospital visits if at all possible. As for this said 'approximate condition,' define the parameters. I'm all right with him in a cheery disposition, but avoid allowing him to be likened to a fool if at all possible. If you must make him be late, I expect him in the office at eight sharp Tuesday, February the 1st.This all said, what time should I be prepared for said kidnapping? After all, cousins deserve a little headway at times.I await your response.PS. I have news for you as well, but I'd prefer not to have be heard, seen by eyes and ears that needn't know. Mrs L has requested I inform you that she will ensure punctuality. I have failed to derive how, precisely. Perhaps it is better not to ask. Expect me a little past ten on the 28th. If you could install him at his desk that morning I will appropriately cause a scene on level five. Apologies in advance for any disruption.Kindly, Skip to next post Re: [Jan 17th] We Were Growing Older (Gabrielle) Reply #3 on October 02, 2015, 12:59:57 PM Hastily scribbled on a separate note, clearly from some other location besides the Division office. To: G MurrayFrom: B SpectreI mustn't forget, cousin. Knox has told all over hot cocoa and Speculoos. My deepest congratulations to you and Francis. The clan is thrilled and extends its best wishes, although you will have to wait many months before consuming congratulatory Firewhiskey.Love,B Skip to next post Re: [Jan 17th] We Were Growing Older (Gabrielle) Reply #4 on October 02, 2015, 02:15:41 PM To: B SpectreFrom: G MurrayMr. Spectre:It's always, always wise to follow the instructions of a most reliable, wizened secretary. Good secretaries such as Mrs. L are quite hard to find. This duly stated, I shall strive to recall 10am on the 28th. As for causing ruckus, do keep it to where I won't have the Houndbadger of Level One breathing down my neck. I know I really oughtn't call him that but it suits the man too perfectly; the Minister probably calls him that too, and if she doesn't, she probably ought to at some point. That all said, your secret is safe with me, sir. Until the 28th, then. The response to his separate note is written right back as well--BallyGabsB- - Many thanks to the clan, then, and I'll hold you all on a good round once the baby's born.Perhaps a done right celebration for Knox, Carr as well as Francis and myself? If not, shan't be too offended, mind you.But again, thank you ever so kindly, cousin. From what I understand Knox will be in town sometime in February for a visit to St.Mungo's - best to broach the subject then. Do take care, and my best to Francis.P.S. You are in Mrs L's good books for pointing out her singular qualities. Faithfully, Skip to next post
