The letter arrives by a small, self-important owl. It is written on official MLE stationery and in neat, printed handwriting.

Recipient: Head Healer Miranda Elliot. St. Mungo's Hospital, London.

Sender: Department Head Solomon Carstairs. Magical Law Enforcement.

To Whomever This May Concern:

Dear Sir or Madam,

In light of recent and numerous deaths at your institution as a result of contaminations - interpreted by the media as poisonings - we are writing to express serious concern about the well being of your patients. It is to my understanding that hospital governance will have changed hands on account of Healer Elliot's absence but we expect to hear back promptly from those in charge.

The department is prepared to offer assistance in the matter of investigating these incidents. Should you possess any objections, we are prepared to hear them.

A refusal will be viewed as suspicious and as grounds for intensive inquiry into the character of your staff.

Faithfully,

S. C.

To Department Head Soloman Carstairs, Magical Law Enforcement,

We have no objections to an investigation of the poisonings. If you are prepared to offer assistance, then do so. There is no sense in formalities and waiting when  lives are being threatened on a large scale. Part of the Magical Law Enforcement's job is to investigate situations such as these, and hesitation to get involved in such a serious matter will be viewed as incompetence and as grounds for intensive inquiry into the reliability of your team.

You can be assured that the Healers in Charge along with their staff have been expecting your arrival.  Multiple reports have been filed as  is protocol. It is time to stop lingering.

Sincerely,

Flynn Hughes, Healer-in-Charge of Spell Damage

Healer Hughes

We are in agreement, it is due time we ceased lingering in the case of your hospital's grievous inability to stop poisoning its patients. Auror Adon Eleor and Trainee Grace Eddy have been duly assigned this matter. Please expect to hear from them in the days to follow.

My warm regards to your Head Healer if or when she recovers.

Most Sincerely,

S. C.
