    The Spectre Estate

The Spectre Clan's ancestral home is located on the outskirts of the city of Edinburgh in Scotland. It is surrounded by a fledgling forest and lake, frequented by wolves and birds of prey - among other creatures. While the clan has various other homes across the country, this is its principal gathering point for familial events or celebrations. At present the estate is home to Balthair Spectre, as well as Balfour's sister Nathaira. All clan members and their loved ones are generally welcome to stay here in times of need.

The entrance at the Spectre Estate may be unlocked by key and charm but as the manor is known for having a life of its own, it opens without prompt for a small number of members. Its rule - that the doors cannot be locked against those who would never shut them to anyone in need, regardless of blood or creed.

Front view of the estate. Outdoor celebrations and parties are held on the front terrace. The main door is rarely used by its regular occupants, who tend to come in around the back through the kitchen. The manor is not very big and its interior is a medley of styles and furniture pieces that have accumulated over the centuries. All Spectres will find the doors unlocked, unless expressly forbidden by whomsoever has currently inherited the home. Visitors typically use the knocker (a bronze wolf or dragon's head, depending on the season).

Entrance Hall. All archways and doors on the right lead to the drawing rooms, parlours, clan chapel and conservatory. To the left, dining rooms, kitchen and library. The upper floors are occupied by bedrooms and the odd study or games room.

The manor drawing room is vast, featuring a set of windows that let on to the terrace on one side and a large fireplace across from it. It is supposed that the hearth can fit two Balfours and one Aisling. Often used as a social space for family events these days, the drawing room is not always occupied on a daily basis - not since Balfour and his siblings were all children .

The manor walls feature portraits of clan ancestors, founders and friends. Resident ghosts tend to mind their own business - excepting occasions of clan importance or Halloween/Samhain. On the right, above, is Nathaira's personal parlour.

Rather than gather in the drawing room or dining rooms, frequent visitors at the estate tend to find themselves in the kitchen. It is the homeliest aspect of the manor and there is always room for one more at the table. Breakfast and brunch are often served here. [/center]

The manor conservatory is tended to by the house elves. As there is plenty of wilderness outside to explore, it is chiefly occupied in bad weather or for cosy breakfasts. It is Aisling Cooper's favourite hideout.

As a rule, the Clan Treasury will only open to heirs and whomsoever allowed in by the heirs. The Spectres keep a vault in Gringotts but like to store less valuable keepsakes here - little bits of jewellery, furniture and valuable books that may need to be taken out every so often. When particulalry stubborn, the treasury will only open to Balfour and his grandfather Balthair. The clan Pensieve Vault is also located here.
