[Sept. 11] A Broom Gone Crazy (OPEN)

    on February 21, 2015, 05:36:18 PM

This was where she belonged. Up in the air, with the wind blowing in her face, not a care or worry in the world, it was just her, her broom, and the whole open sky. Right now, Chloe was flying laps, getting back her grip of the broom, learning again what it felt like to fly, practicing her technique, her quick movements, it was perfect. Just what she needed.

The beginning of the year had been just that: the beginning of a school year. She had tons of syllabi to go over, she had work that already needed to be done for Storm's class, she had new responsibilities, new friends, old friends, friendships that had faded away, all of it was crazy, all of it was a big thing to deal with, all of it was a swirling, giant, big, mess. And Chloe had figured out that she needed some time away from everyone when she shouted at some small first years this morning for walking too slowly up the stairs. Her exact words were, "Hurry the hell up before the staircases move!" Her patience had been shot, she had been shot. She never slept well the first few nights back.

And with Shade nowhere nearby, and with her parents whole situation... It all lead her here. Now. In the sky, flying and finally destressing. She always destressed in the skies. It was the best place to. Her bag, wand, pads, and goggles all sat by the bench on the ground, meanwhile she was flying, burning off every negitive emotion, and getting it all cleared out. She was feeling better already.

That was until her broom decided to go crazy.

Her broom was several years old. It had been cheap when she bought it second year, but in the moment, she didn't think twice about it. Now, she was seriously wishing she had opted for the more expensive one. The broom suddenly lost control, making a zigzag pattern under her. She tried to regain control of it, she tried to get a better grip, but it didn't seem to matter. Her sweaty palms started to slip, before her entire body slipped right off of the broom. The broom continued flying straight, out of the pitch, and where it ended up, Chloe didn't know.

She was a bit more concerned with the fact that she was now freefalling.

If she had her wand, she could get out of this jam. She probably would be fine, she knew enough spells, but she didn't have it, and didn't know how to do any magic without it.Instead, she settled for the good old fashioned screaming, flailing, and praying that this fall wouldn't kill her. It didn't, luckily, something broke her fall. Her own leg.

When Chloe hit the ground, there was a terrible crack sound, before pain began to radiate uncontrollably. She continued to scream, heaving, as she tried to get her leg out from under her, but when she did, it was still bent in a terrible way. The pain had sent her to tears, as she tried to hold on to it just to make it feel better, but it didn't take a medical degree to discover that she had shattered her left leg. Completely. "Help!" She screamed again, resting her head on the turf under her. "Help, please! Anyone!"

<CRACK> Erin heard a sound that did not seem quite right.  Erin had been at Hogwarts long enough to realize that she did not need to investigate every strange noise that passed by, and was probably better off if she looked the other way.  When she heard someone scream for help though, she figured it was probably time to check it out.

Erin had expected some magical hijinks gone wrong, or maybe something that could be fixed relatively quickly with magic. It did not take a genius to realize that the leg should not be bent at that angle.  The sense of urgency overcame her rather attention addled mind; and she was smart enough to immediately shoot red sparks up into the air, hoping that someone would notice.  She crammed her head trying to think of a charm that she could easily cast, and about the only one she thought of was a feather light charm and mobilicorpus.

Feeling appropriately ambitious for her house, she encanted " Mobilicorpus".  If this spell did not work, Erin would have to go to plan B.  Admittedly, Erin didn't have a plan B, but it made her at least feel like she knew what she was doing.

"Let's try to get you to the hospital wing," Erin said, stating the obvious.
