Physical Description:
Fiyero has an incredibly sunny countenance, a smile almost always lighting up his features for anyone at all. His dark brown hair (usually swept to the side) and large, blue eyes bring to mind a puppy, and so his friendliness seems absolutely fitting. This attitude causes many people to be surprised by his height of six feet; Fiyero is also rather well-built, with an average amount of muscle and slightly broad shoulders. Aside from his strikingly blue eyes, his smile is one of his most memorable features and it’s possibly because it is almost always present. No matter who it is, he will always have a smile for them.

Fiyero is rarely clean-shaven, but doesn’t often sport a full-on beard (except during his days as a busker); most of the time, he has a bit of stubble or a 5 o’clock shadow. This isn’t necessarily due to laziness; rather, he genuinely likes this look, as he feels that it allows him to somewhat hold onto his days of homelessness (which are actually quite fond memories for him). He doesn’t spend much time on his appearance, because his hair naturally falls the way he likes it, though when it gets too long he constantly has to brush it out of his eyes.

His fashion sense is in between a lot of different styles, because he gets most of his clothes second-hand. Fiyero likes sweaters, especially ones with colorful patterns. He has quite the affinity for hats, no matter what kind, and he wears a lot of scarves, as well (usually ones that he has knitted himself). Fiyero tends to present himself a little differently at work, where his posture is always perfect and he walks swiftly and with purpose; outside of work, he allows himself to relax a little and his gait turns into more of a mosey. He has a deeper voice than most would assume upon seeing him, and he usually tries to make sure that he talks slowly and clearly. When he gets too excited, though, he begins talking very quickly and his words have a tendency to get jumbled.


Personality Description:
To someone who has no intention to delve deeper, Fiyero seems rather simple-minded. He has well-intentioned (though mostly unrealistic) notions of people in the world being able to live in harmony, and will gladly tell his ideas to anyone who will listen. This tends to elicit different responses from people, though most either find him endearing or criticize him for being so irrational. Trusting people comes easily to him. He never stops giving people chances after they’ve made mistakes, and thus never realizes when he is being taken advantage of.

One word that has been used to describe Fiyero is silly. He’s not afraid of what people might think about him, and so he tends to do and say things without thinking them through. He is naturally outgoing, able to make friends with just about anyone – whether they want to be his friend or not is irrelevant. In fact, Fiyero can’t always tell when his presence is unwanted, which can occasionally lead to awkward encounters (for other people, but not for him, of course). He always tries his best to make sure that others feel welcome, because he firmly believes in treating others the way that he wants to be treated.

Fiyero has layers (like cake!) below his ever-smiling outside. He always encourages people to let their emotions out, but he doesn’t always follow his own advice, because he doesn’t like feeling sad. Those sad emotions have a way of letting themselves out when he is put under too much pressure. Due to certain events in his past, he’s not entirely emotionally stable, though he pushes down the things that make him sad and uses his smile as a defense mechanism. His family believes that the trauma he experienced caused him to regress back to a state of childhood in some ways. It is possible to break his happy outer shell (if you’re really mean), which causes him to have a panic attack. They never last for long, though, because he’s gotten to the point where he can usually calm himself down.

He loves his job greatly, because helping people is one of his many passions. Whenever he has the opportunity, Fiyero will do everything he can to help out someone in need, even when he himself doesn’t have much to offer. When he’s not working, he spends a great deal of his time playing music or knitting. He actually enjoys doing anything that requires creativity, because he loves being able to make things.

History:
Childhood held the happiest memories for Fiyero, for everything seemed to be at its simplest. He was born in Russia during his family’s visit to his paternal grandparents, and as the baby of the Kozlov bunch, he was adored by his parents and older sisters all while growing up. They doted on him and being raised in such a loving environment cause Fiyero to grow to be friendly and caring towards all whom he met. He lived in the same house all during his childhood, and his family almost always got along. Even when his parents did fight, they always came to good shortly after. When Fiyero’s sisters teased him, they were even gentle about it. He grew up bilingual (English and Russian) and his parents taught him many things – knitting and playing different instruments were his favorite pastimes from a young age.

Being sent off to Hogwarts was a happy event, and it was no surprise when he was sorted into Hufflepuff. That was where he met Anthony, who he quickly became best friends with. Fiyero was prone to running away with his wild ideas and before getting into trouble, Anthony would always manage to keep his friend grounded. All throughout their school years, Anthony was there to keep Fiyero balanced. You could hardly ever see one without the other and Anthony (who had a complicated home life) was essentially integrated into the Kozlov family. Fiyero did not realize all at once that he loved Anthony, but when he did, he kept it to himself so as not to alter or possibly lose their friendship. That was something that Fiyero could not imagine.   

After graduating from Hogwarts, Fiyero had all of his plans in order. He was going to be an auror with Anthony, and together they would fight the forces of evil (Fiyero’s words, of course, not Anthony’s). They moved into an apartment in London when they began their auror training, and although Fiyero did his best, Anthony had an even greater knack for the work. He excelled quickly, but Fiyero was not jealous; he was just happy to see his best friend succeed. They had not yet finished their auror training when the Ministry fell. Once Voldemort and the Death Eaters had infiltrated the Ministry, Anthony and Fiyero took it upon themselves to try and put up a fight, but they ended up getting in over their heads. Both were captured and tortured by Death Eaters due to their efforts. Help arrived in time to save Fiyero, but it was already too late for Anthony.

Following Anthony’s death, Fiyero left London, knowing that he couldn’t stay there without constantly being reminded of the friend he had lost. He disappeared without telling his family where he was going, and he took nothing with him that he couldn’t fit in his backpack. For some reason, he couldn’t admit to himself that he was having a break-down. He spent his times finding work where he could, usually at coffee shops or bookstores, but he never kept the jobs long because he felt that he had to keep moving. Fiyero mostly slept on benches during this time, or sometimes on a couch when he could. He became a busker (someone who plays music on the side of the street) and created a network among the other homeless people, and slowly Fiyero gained back the happiness that was lost. Though it would be strange for some people, those days were what brought him back to (almost) his former self, and eventually back to the home that he had left.

Now that he is back in London, he is working at the Ministry of Magic and living on his sister’s couch until he can save up enough money to get his own place (or find a roommate). Although he originally planned to work at the Ministry as an auror, his priorities have changed and he instead works at the front desk, which he believes is one of the most important jobs. Aside from that, he knows that he is in no state to pursue a career as an auror again.

Describe your job duties and how you go about them:
Fiyero sees himself as the face of the Ministry (even if this may not be quite true). When witches and wizards first walk into the Ministry, they will see his smiling face. He fulfills all of the responsibilities of a front desk clerk - that is, he welcomes people in, he takes memos, and he gives directions (and tours, if necessary). Fiyero believes it is necessary to go above and beyond, however, and offers refreshments and conversation for anyone who needs it. He also makes himself available to any of the Ministry employees who need odd jobs done.

Elaborate on your expertise in your field:
Although expertise is not the word that Fiyero would use, he sees himself as extremely well-qualified for this position. He has been used to customer service positions, where he always had to have a smile on his face. His friendliness speaks for itself, and he makes sure that upon arrival, everyone's first impression of Ministry employees is a great one. He also is well-acquainted with the Ministry and its layout, so he is able to answer most questions regarding where to find things or people. When it comes to work, Fiyero is very well-organized and gets everything done in a quick and concise manner.

To almost everyone, Fiyero is the friendly face at the Ministry's front desk, always willing to help a soul in need. Despite his traumatic past, Fiyero is a happy, outgoing individual, who unknowingly uses his puppy-dog eyes and hand-knitted scarves to win people over. He is child-like in many ways which he uses as a defense mechanism against sad events from the past, though most people just see as part of his bubbly demeanor. When not working, Fiyero is either knitting coasters in coffee shops or playing his banjo on the street corner.
