Determined now to not be made a delicate daisy, Branwen jutted her chin forward and took to her tutelage like a grizzled juniper: ancient, savvy, knotty, and full of twists and turns. She barked quick little questions at Pepper and wasn't concerned at his familiar handling of her hands over the levers.
"Well, that's alright, isn't it," she said, a firm evaluation. "What's the harm in this? Honestly, Pepper, if you told me just earlier today that I'd be willingly engaging in criminal behavior I'd have thought you had been reading my journal and knew about my machinations to - MERLIN!"
Midst her chatter, she'd done as instructed and done the motions requisite to shifting the car into second gear and it transitioned with a crunching jolt!
"Easy now!" She laughed as she corrected the burst of speed and pressed the pedal on the right a bit more. "I could get good at this, Pepper. There's nothing natural about an automobile flying through the air as prettily as a broomstick, but there's yet something very appealing about it. Shame!"
It was a shame, of course, that the flying of cars was illegal. With Pepper's help, they made a long wide banking turn to make their way back towards Hogsmeade. They had a disagreement about who would land the thing, but Branwen had her way that Pepper would bring them safely aground.
Back on terra firma, Branwen was filled with the oddest of sensations. The lack of any vibration or movement beneath her feet was deafening. The absolutely stillness itself seemed to teeter her off balance. She also realized their trip had exhausted her.
"A thrill, Pepper. You'll say hello to Ambrose for me? Make sure he knows I was brave," she said with pride.
