Prefects - Sly and I will let you know when it's time for you to come in... via PM/a note in the text of a post! Thank you!

What better way to spend a birthday than holding her first ever prefect meeting?  She’d, of course, been to many before – but to run one?  Well, she strode confidently through the corridors to the empty classroom they’d decided to have the meeting in.  It was so convenient having both Head students in the same house, though working with Theo was going to be… interesting… they’d agreed to meet for an hour beforehand to hammer out any last details they wanted to get across to the prefects.

This was what she relished in and was happy she didn’t have to worry about celebrating.  Though she appreciated her birthday, she’d spent Saturday evening with Neely and drank cocoa, her closer friends had given her small things and that was it.  It was just another day and because she only got a note from her parents and she couldn’t spend her birthday

Jordyn also had an armful of schedules and different things that needed to be finalized.  She imagined they would do patrols for two weeks at a time and then switch them as necessary.  No one wanted to be stuck with the late evening patrols all of the time – it was murder on a schedule, thus creating the necessity for change.  She had jotted down some ideas, but she’d have to run them by Theo and see what he thought.

There was also the matter of back to school reminders of rules and regulations, as well as the monitoring of the first years… it was a very big job.  Thankfully, Jordyn didn’t really have any distractions to keep her from doing her job.  Jai was in London, so there was no possibility of that changing and the first hogsmeade weekend was weeks away.  Letters would have to suffice.  She hoped she got one before the night was over.

But, right now, she couldn’t focus on what she didn’t know.  She had to focus on her job and the possiblities of the year.  She was half in charge of the prefects.  She had expectations and things that they needed to get done.  Halloween was about two months away, but she wanted to make sure the party was one that wouldn’t be forgotten (she’d enlist outside help for that as well), and then there was the administrative stuff… there was a lot to think about.  She also wanted to make sure that they did something for back to school, whatever it would be.  Less focused on professors as well, since the welcoming feast was well and good, but it should be more fun.  Excitement, however, had not been missing from this year’s.

When she arrived to the room, Jordyn was not surprised she’d arrived first – and five minutes early.  It gave her some time to post up the schedules she’d outlined with her wand and set out the plans she had.  Perhaps she’d gone a little overboard but school was not entirely in full swing yet and the more they got done now the less they would have to do later.
