[Sept. 1st] Furnunculus (Open) on January 28, 2015, 09:28:24 PM Tiberius Bulstrode's mother and father had been far to affectionate on the platform. Sending both of their children off to Hogwarts for their seventh year had apparently been emotional. Tiberius scoffed at the idea as he hauled his trunk onto the train, ignoring protests from his mother and father. They could smother his sister with attention and affection- he was disinterested. All he cared was that his father had bought him a new racing broom for quidditch as a "congratulations on not flunking out of Hogwarts yet" gift. Of course his father hadn't called it that- but Tiberius recognized the gift for what it was. His academics were shoddy at best and even he was surprised when he got mediocre grades. The trunk was stowed away, and he kept the blanket tight around his owl's cage- no need to get that thing screeching and having a fit on the train. He might throttle it if it got too loud. Stupid bird. Useful, he supposed, but a stupid nuisance. (Normally Rus liked his bird- but this morning the owl had taken a chunk out of his finger when he had been teasing it with a treat.)He settled into a compartment nearer the back of the train- hoping to avoid the first years and younger students in general. Of course, once classes started, he wouldn't mind terrorizing a few ickle firsties- especially of the Hufflepuff and/or Mudblood variety, but his time spent travelling on the train he'd rather actually enjoy. (Not that Tiberius really enjoyed very much. He was a rather moody, melancholy sort of follow.)Naturally, as soon as Tiberius had finally settled in and gotten comfortable, there was a loud commotion as someone[1] blundered into his cart. Startled- and annoyed at having been startled- he grimaced in the direction of the intruder. Tiberius patted his pocket for half moment, considering that perhaps he was overreacting- but then the intruder dropped their trunk and it exploded loudly, the contents spilling everywhere. Well. That was his decisive moment. Tiberius drew his wand and with a quick flick of his wrist- "Furnunculus!" Tiberius might not be the brightest individual but he did know one thing: nobody wanted to start the first day of the year covered in pimples and boils. The jinx would teach them a lesson, that was for sure. (Assuming, of course, that he hit his target.) 1. You can be this someone or godmode a random person to have been this somone. Somehow, Tiberius managed to grip Juni by the wrists- stopping her clawing attempts at his face. He wrestled her to the ground with relative ease, and once he had her incapacitated, Tiberius did the first thing that came to mind- he sat on her. The Hufflepuff Prefect turned and made her way to where the bloodcurdling sound originated from, unsure of what to expect.... However when she arrived and saw the grisly scene, her jaw dropped. That definitely wasn't what she expected. Juni had her jaws firmly clamped on Tiberius' face, and she noticed the boils covering the Ravenclaw which she could only assume resulted in this current situation. Finally she managed to shake off the bewilderment, and remembered that she wasn't supposed to be smiling at Tiberius being bitten."What is going on here?" Verity demanded. "Juni spit him out, you don't know where he's been. His hygiene is questionable at best. And Tiberius, you know that jinxing fellow students is against the rules." The knee in the back was painful, and before he had really processed exactly what was going on- the girl was biting him. How barbaric! Rus was accustomed to brutish behavior, he had been on bot ends of brutish behavior, but this was something new. Something he had not expected. She was biting him. Hanging from his face like an animal. He was actually glad for the prefect's interruption- at first, anyway. Until she started insulting him without reason or cause. There was a girl biting his fac and the stupid girl was questioning his hygiene. He was raised in a pureblood family. The Bulstrode line was unquestionable. He had impeccable hygiene. Juni did, however, spit him out. He glowered at her. He would get her back whenever he cornered her, alone, without authority figures present. "Questionable?" he said to Verity. Juni was forgotten momentarily. "I am quite certain, as a prefect, you are supposed to be a shining example of your house. Calling into question the hygiene of a student hardly seems like the proper behavior for a prefect. Though I suppose, being a Hufflepuff, your stupidity cannot be helped. I am a Bulstrode, woman. A name that means something. My hygiene is impeccable- obviously far better than hers." Tiberius gestured at Juni. "Infections like that can only happen if a girl has not washed her face in weeks. Just because she has some horrible skin problem doesn't mean I jinxed her. Besides, you saw nothing. As far as I can tell all you saw was some violent girl biting my face." His face which was actually bleeding. Not freely, but enough to show some actual damage had been done. "I demand you reprimand her for biting me. Just because she is some barbaric mudblood when she's at home doesn't give her permission to behave like one in proper society." He’d sprinted far ahead in the middle of his and Juni’s playfight, too caught in their shenanigans to realize she hadn’t followed, but as soon he had– assisted by one bloodcurdling screech of rage –he’d dashed back down the hall, nearly knocking over a few third years in his haste. He knew that scream! Someone was about to get murdered! He had slowed a little, just as Verity popped into the compartment; as one of the nicer, saner prefects to hold the title, there was hope—Juni was surely in good hands. But just as he reached the compartment, their voices– bloody Bulstrode’s voice– carried through the open door, blustering and disdainful. The Ravenclaw might not’ve been there for the actual attack, but—Juni wasn’t rabid. She had to’ve been provoked. Tiberius’ words only cinched it.For one thing, no one innocent had ever used that word.“RIP HIS MINGY FACE OFF, JUNI,” Connor bellowed, struggling to get past Verity in a flail of limbs. Skip to next post Re: [Sept. 1st] Furnunculus (Open) Reply #7 on January 29, 2015, 05:42:50 PM Verity tilted her head questioningly at her fellow 7th year, and raised an eyebrow as he had his little rant. Let's let him get it all out of his system. Then he dropped the M-Bomb. Despite being Muggleborn, she had only heard the term a handful of times and was not prepared for it to be uttered so easily. Especially as his target was not even Muggleborn herself. She had to hold out her arm to keep Connor from joining the fray and she gathered her breath to make sure that she didn't shout at Tiberius and cause the situation to escalate."As I saw Juni get on the train blemish-free, I think that even I - a stupid Hufflepuff - can deduce that she was jinxed. It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to get to the bottom of this mystery," Verity pursed her lips, not caring if the Slytherin got her reference. Her tone would surely carry the intent. "And if I ever hear you say that word again, you will regret it, I assure you. Unless you need me to talk with Headmistress McGonagall about your language."She gave Juni a look, and turned towards Connor to make sure he wasn't going to lunge at Tiberius the moment she lowered her arm. "Juni, come here. You don't want to catch ignorance," Verity remarked before giving Bulstrode a withering glare. "Please, do take care of your face. Some of those wounds look rather deep. I'd hate for you to get scars and look even worse." Good. "He cast furnunculous on me because I accidentally ran into his cart!" Juni exclaimed, knowing very well that she would have to wait until she was at the castle to have access to a boil-cure potion. Which meant that she would probably miss part of the sorting! To be fair, she'd probably miss part of it anyway, especially if the professors found out she tried to rip a guy's face off with her teeth.Oh no. Oh no he didn't just call her a mudblood! There was no way Verity could calm her down now-- she was much more willing to rip off his mingy face, as Connor put it-- than to ignore such slander. She wasn't suprirsed-- after all, Tiberius wasn't much more than purist scum. "Drink hemlock or go into exile, dickshanks!" She snarled, pointing her wand at the Slytherin. "Evomovermis!"[1] A jet of green light emerged from the wand, and she hoped her aim was true. It wasn't quite the same as ripping off his face, but significantly more legal. 1. He would be spreading all kinds of rumors about Juni the Cannibal as soon as he was able to. The prefect was still yapping on and on about how she had deduced it. "Not all deductions are correct. Could have been anyone in this train car before you came along. They could have gone off in a flash. Perhaps I'm getting blamed for something I didn't even do."Tiberius was not intimidated by threats of sending him to McGonagall. He probably should have been, but as a Pureblood male who had been raised to think himself superior to everyone, threatening him with a female teacher- even if she was headmistress- did little to dissuade his behavior. Besides, her own words and behavior were not very prefectly. And if he got reported, he would be sure to include how Verity was insulting him- and only him during the altercation. She wouldn't lose her badge by any means, but it would hopefully tarnish her reputation. He heard the first syllable of her spell and he knew exactly what was going to happen. Tiberius was always in fights, and liked to duel, and his experience made him quick on his feet. Her spell had barely ended before his own was being cast. "Divinctus!"[1] The jagged bolt of white light hit Juni at roughly the same time his stomach began to churn.[2] Juni fell to her knees and her wand flew across the train car. He took a step forward, wand still clutched tightly in his hand, and proceeded to vomit slugs on the Ravenclaw's head.Tiberius wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and glowered down at her. "And that is exactly where you belong- kneeling in front of your superior you filthy little disgrace." He wanted to call her a mudblood again- but that had seemed to antagonize her more than anything else. Somehow he'd managed to get the sentence out- dripping with hatred and arrogance- before another round of slugs came pouring from his mouth, splattering on the floor in front of Juni. 1. Her wand flew out of her hand and hit Connor smack-dab in the middle of his face, turning his eyebrows purple. Like a true friend, he threw it back—smacking her in the back of the head and getting it stuck in her curls. Never had Juni been prouder of having curly hair than she did in this moment.[1]Oh, she wanted to cry-- she was absolutely humiliated. But her anger was much stronger than her embarassment, and she couldn't break in front of him, no matter how disgusting vomit-slugs were. He was not her superior, he would never be her superior. What did he think, that being a pureblood gave him special privileges and rights? No. It was completely the opposite. Juni had been raised with the belif that pureblooded families were selfish and unwilling to share the magic.Juni pulled her wand out of her hair (which was now slimy and sticky and absolutely gross but she didn't have time to wipe it off, or anything to wipe it off on. "Angustio!" She snapped, "Take that, you inbred frankenfaced flobberworm." She hopped on her knees a bit, only to fall over onto her side with great dignity. 1. His nausea hit again, and vomiting slugs was downright painful that time with all of the force the Angustio spell was putting on his rib cage. Tiberius gasped for breath, but he remained on his feet, staring down at Juni, watching her hop about and then fall down. He grinned, half laughed, and vomited slugs again. Oh, she would pay for this. She would pay. How dare she not back down and silently accept his vengeance. She would learn. She would definitely learn.Tiberus knew he didn't have much umph left in him. He was also acutely aware of the fact this had escalated far past normal levels- there was no way that they wouldn't end up having to meet with either the deputy head or the headmistress. That's all there was to it at this point. And Tiberius would not be outdone by a half-blooded girl. His wand flicked, a half circle- but there was no flash of light. "Convacies!"[1] Tiberius had to wait for the spell's intended effects before he was certain it had hit. He saw her eyes turn back into her head[2], and then he stepped backward, practically collapsing into the train seat. Tiberius' breathing was becoming more shallow. He was certain his heart was going to leap from his chest at any moment. The nausea wasn't going away, and as the chain lurched through a curve it only got worse. This was not how he intended to spend the train ride to his final year at Hogwarts. When the next batch of slugs expelled from him, Tiberius choked loudly, practically unable to breathe as they spewed forth. He coughed, face turning a brilliant shade of red. He would have insulted her further had he been able to talk- but he just kept coughing and choking on the slugs that were stuck in his throat. 1. Causes the eyes of the target to turn 180 degrees, so they stare at the inside of the head. Though painless, this spell can be very jarring and frightening, both for the victim and observers. Instantaneous effect, lasts an hour or two, during which the eyes will gradually drift back to their proper position. 2. The Hufflepuff froze at the conflict, and bit her lip as she gripped her ebony wand. Dueling was far from her forte, and to quite be honest it frightened her. She preferred to settle disagreements with words, like civil people. Ask her to explain spell theory or show the perfect wrist movement for casting a spell, that was no problem. But this...After they both got some hits on each other, they looked like both were about to pass out, and Verity knew that she had to act or there could potentially be dire consequences. Especially for Tiberius."Finite Incantatem!" Verity cast the spell at both of the students removing most of the hexes that they cast at each other, and before they would be able to recover, she shouted, "Expelliarmus!"She grabbed the two wands, and gave both Juni and Tiberius the most stern look she could muster. "Juni, we'll get you the boil-cure potion as soon as we get to Hogwarts. But I am bringing you both to Whitman and Dimbleby, and they can determine what to do with you. And Tiberius, you're welcome. You didn't look too tidy just now."Just because he was an insufferable jerk didn't mean she wanted him to be seriously injured. She quickly cast a healing spell on Bulstrode for the minor cuts on his face as well as a cleaning spell for Juni. She already had to deal with grotesque boils, it wouldn't be fair to march her down the hall covered in slug slime as well. Skip to next post Re: [Sept. 1st] Furnunculus (Open) Reply #13 on February 16, 2015, 02:34:35 PM She felt her eyes roll into the back of her head and screamed-- it hurt. Not to mention it was bloody terrifying. She could feel her heart pounding in her throat. The floor was black. The walls were black. Everything was black. She was blind. But the spell Tiberius has cast was at least temporary, and the blindness would wear off within the hour. It didn't make it any less traumatizing though. After Verity's skilled casting, Juni was still blind, still pimply-- but at least she wasn't stuck on her knees any longer. Being able to walk didn't do her much good if she couldn't see.It was war, Tiberius. It was war. Then suddenly his wand was pulled from his hand with a disarming spell. Tiberius felt his blood boiling- thoroughly offended by the fact that someone would dare to disarm him- especially a Hufflepuff, and even more so one who was so far beneath him. She had his wand in her hand, and his fingers twitched against his trousers- it was hard to resist he urge to punch her in the jaw and take it back from her.The Slytherin sat up straighter- despite still feeling nauseous, despite the fact he was still having a hard time breathing- refusing to drop his gaze when Verity had the audacity to behave as though he should thank her. He would have won that fight with ease had he needed to. He could physically overpower a fifth year, he had no doubt about it. And out-magic her if he had felt vicious enough. Tiberius resented the healing spell the Hufflepuff cast- even if it did close up the wounds on his face and leave him in less pain. But at least both Jordyn and Theo were fellow Slytherins- he was banking on that being helpful in getting him out of any serious trouble for his skirmish with Juni."Kindly remove yourself and that Ravenclaw from my train car," he said. "Your point has been made and my wand confiscated. But I have no qualms using my fists if she decides to interrupt my ride or make anymore untoward comments to me." Tiberius was fairly certain he could overpower them both if he had to. He didn't like hitting girls, but at least these didn't count as proper ladies. Skip to next post

Just because she is some barbaric mudblood when she's at home doesn't give her permission to behave like one in proper society." Skip to next post
Re: [Sept. 1st] Furnunculus (Open) Reply #6 on January 29, 2015, 08:41:33 AM Connor took that moment to explode onto the scene, hair manic, eyes wild, and skinny chest heaving with exertion. He’d sprinted far ahead in the middle of his and Juni’s playfight, too caught in their shenanigans to realize she hadn’t followed, but as soon he had– assisted by one bloodcurdling screech of rage –he’d dashed back down the hall, nearly knocking over a few third years in his haste. Re: [Sept. I'd hate for you to get scars and look even worse." Skip to next post
Re: [Sept. 1st] Furnunculus (Open) Reply #8 on January 30, 2015, 01:40:24 PM M-- mild languageUpon Verity's arrival, Juni did spit Tiberius out, though she was a bit proud that she had bitten him hard enough to make him bleed-- which meant that it would probably bruise as well. Good. 1. Re: [Sept. 1st] Furnunculus (Open) Reply #9 on January 30, 2015, 02:17:20 PM There was another Ravenclaw yelling-cheering on the girl who dared to interrupt his relaxation and who had dared to take a chunk out of his face with her teeth. 1. Re: [Sept. 1st] Furnunculus (Open) Reply #10 on January 30, 2015, 02:39:09 PM Here she was, pimply faced—stuck on her knees—with a complete sociopath vomiting slugs on her. 1. Re: [Sept. 1st] Furnunculus (Open) Reply #11 on January 30, 2015, 02:54:10 PM The spell hit Tiberius full on in the chest, and he felt his ribcage squeezing inward. 2. With Kelly's permission Skip to next post
Re: [Sept. 1st] Furnunculus (Open) Reply #12 on January 30, 2015, 08:11:58 PM The moment Juni cast the slug-vomiting hex, Verity's amber eyes widened and before she could react the two were slinging spells at each other left and right. Skip to next post
Re: [Sept. It was war. Skip to next post
Re: [Sept. 1st] Furnunculus (Open) Reply #14 on February 16, 2015, 05:56:17 PM He heard Verity yelling out Finite Incantatem!
