[May 17] The way things should be [Nicola] on June 30, 2009, 07:18:54 PM Waking up, Gavin looked around to see that he was the only one left in the dormitory. Everyone else was probably in the Great Hall finishing their breakfast or heading out to meet up with some friends. The whole week was taking a toll on Gavin and all he wanted was a bit of peace. A few days back Gavin had a fight with his girlfriend, Nicola. The fight was of course about Kyle Gibson, a boy who was disliked throughout the whole school after becoming a killer. Now that he was on the run he had the nerve to ask Nicola to meet him privately to explain to her "what really happened." What a load of bull. It was a Saturday morning and while Gavin should have been worrying about the history essay that was overdue, his legs carried him to the spot where he usually settled himself into while he had much to think about. The hate for Gibson was only intensifying as the days went by. He used to be a little pest that got on Gavin's nerves while he thought he was the best duelist in the world, but now he just lied about everything that went on in his life. Maybe he was just calling out for attention and if he was he sure got it. What really pissed Gavin off was that Nicola actually believed him or at least she went and met up with him while who knows what could of happened. She could’ve been hurt, killed, captured. She never thought about what could have happened. The only place where Gavin had some peace and quiet was the Hogwarts gardens. Besides little fruity couples that decided to come by and skip around while holding hands and making giggly faces, no one else came around these parts. He took out a book that he was itching to finish for the longest time and started to read. It was his only escape. After the argument he had with Nicola he did so much as look her way for about a second before he directed his attention someplace else. She was the one who should be apologizing, not Gavin. But he could not help but to think that this was his entire fault. If only he was with her during the Remembering Day Ceremony… Skip to next post Re: [May 17] The way things should be [Nicola] Reply #1 on June 30, 2009, 07:58:29 PM Nicola hated admitting she was wrong, she was far to stubborn to tell anyone that she might have been in the wrong. Going to see Kyle was stupid and dangerous, she knew that, but she felt like she had to at least give him some benefit of the doubt to hear him out. The idea of a doppelganger was far fetched, it could happen but Nicola’s problem with the story was why Kyle? What made him the target for such actions? Gavin was right it was stupid of her to believe him, to go see him, but she was his friend, which is why she went. Nicola wants to believe him but it was pretty hard to when you saw what she saw with her own eyes. The time since that fight felt like forever. Nicola had become very attached to the idea of Gavin, and had found she needed his company especially now. School was coming to an end and she was stressed enough as it was. She had NEWTs to fret about and jobs to apply for. That was enough to fret about but then to add on top of that the fact her friend was a killer and on the run was just making the load impossible to carry alone. Nicola missed Gavin even if it had only been a few days. She missed talking to him, being close to him, catching each other’s eye across the common room when he was talking to Alex or Ava as she attempted some homework. Nicola didn’t want to say she was wrong because to some extent she didn’t feel she was wrong, but she also knew that she had been stupid. Nicola would gladly say they were both in the wrong, the way Gavin and she both reacted but she was not ready to take all of the blame. She was sick of just looking over at him but glancing away quickly for fear of him seeing her looking. Nicola wanted to make things right again, she figured to do that she had to be the bigger person. Nicola wanted to talk to Gavin and make things right again. This was why instead of heading for breakfast she was looking for Gavin. Normally she was hungry but lately her appetite had been almost nothing. It could be from the stress of school and her future or from the stress of the relationship problems. Was it normal to have problems so early on in ones relationship?Nicola decided not to think about these things as she went looking for Gavin. She couldn’t find him anywhere, when she was near the point of giving up she remembered that spot he had taken her. That was where she was headed, as she felt sure he would be there. At least she was right about one thing because he was there, but she wasn’t sure she was sure this was the right approach. “Hi Gavin.” She said nervously looking at him with a weak smile. She walked over and hovered unsure if she should sit down next to him. She finally decided sitting down would be the best idea. “I’m sorry.” Skip to next post Re: [May 17] The way things should be [Nicola] Reply #2 on June 30, 2009, 10:17:59 PM “Hi Gavin.” Hearing Nicola's voice sent a shiver through Gavin's back. He had no idea that Nicola was going to find him her let alone her look for him. He was rather surprised and at the same time happy that she was standing right there. He shifted to make room for her on the rock and waited for her to sit down, like he knew she would. Looking into her face every thought in Gavin's mind was temporarily frozen. It was like the whole fight didn't happen and the only thing he was seeing was her face. Gavin was Gavin and he couldn't help but be memorized by a woman's beauty, it was his weakness. Bringing himself into reality, Gavin knew why they were arguing and that he wasn't going to be a baby. He was going to make sure that Nicola said sorry and that she knew that she hurt Gavin. The idea of her seeing Kyle again was out of the question of course. He wanted to tell her that he didn't want to break up with her like she thought he felt the night they had the fight. He could see it in her eyes that she thought Gavin was going to leave her because she was "stupid".“I’m sorry.”Now this was unexpected. He was left speechless. For Nicola to go and just flat out tell Gavin that she was sorry was something that didn't seem like her at all. "I am too Nicola." he told her. "But we still have a lot to talk about..." Which was true. There were a lot of pressing matters to discuss. Without thinking. Gavin took Nicola's face in between his hands and kissed her softly on the lips. For the past couple of days all Gavin wanted to do was kiss her. He was tired of seeing her and not being able to hold her... Stupid hormones. He didn't want to fight anymore. All Gavin wanted to do was just put Gibson behind them and work towards the future. He even thought about getting a place with Nicola in the summer. The Snark Manor was beginning to be crowded with so many people. Well, not only that but everyone was getting bigger and each wanted their own privacy including Gavin. Nicola was sorry for fighting with him but she wasn’t sorry for what she did. At the time going and talking to Kyle had been the right thing for her to do. Maybe it was stupid and was putting her in harms way but she wasn’t thinking about that. Nicola was stupidly concerned for her friend and she had let that get in the way of some good common sense. Looking back on it now she knew that she should probably not have gone to see Kyle, but she had and that was just something they would have to deal with. She was sorry she had argued with Gavin but she was not sorry for being a good friend to someone, even if they were a killer. Her entire feelings on the matter of Kyle were conflicted, but she was very sure of herself and her feelings for Gavin. Nicola wanted to be with Gavin and these past few days had been torture.“I know we have a lot to talk about Gavin. I am sorry for arguing with you.” She decided she would leave out the fact she was not sorry for doing what she did though. Nicola didn’t want another fight because all she wanted was to be in his arms. Nicola held her breath for a moment as his hands touched her face and then she felt his lips against hers. Nicola relaxed into the kiss and moved an arm around his neck and moving into his hair. She had missed kissing him, she desired to kiss him for days. Her heart raced as she kiss him and she didn’t want to stop as if to make up for lost time. Darn teenage hormones making her miss this so much. Nicola was weak for Gavin’s kisses and they only got better from the first one he ever gave her.She finally felt the need to breath pulling away from him but not going far. Her nose still touching against Gavin’s, “I missed you.” She said quietly her eyes still closed from the kiss. She almost felt like she was afraid to open them and he would be gone, like it was a dream. She was afraid if she opened her eyes she would find herself in her bed and still in this stupid fight with Gavin. For some odd reason he didn't like being away from Nicola. The whole steady relationship was still new to Gavin and he knew it was new to Nicola as well. There were going to be times where they had no idea what to do but the good part about fighting was making up. That was Gavin's favorite thing to do. Did he have to give her flowers or something? Looking around Gavin took a step back into reality once more and remembered that they were in the garden. With his left hand he grabbed a bunch of flowers that were pink, he had no idea what they were called, and gave them to Nicola."They smell good..." Gavin said feeling like he wanted to hit himself on his forehead. That was being smooth alright. There several things he could've said that would make the whole scene romantic and he went to say, "They smell good". Who says that? Maybe it was time to read some stuff about how to be romantic. It was so easy to make girls fall at his feet but being around Nicola made him nervous. This did not go well with Gavin at all. It wasn't a big surprise to Gavin that he messed things up. He was rather goofy; the hair topped it off quite nicely. Trying to think of something else to say, Gavin looked into the clouds. "So what were you doing these past couple of days?" He was rather curious to see what she had done. Mostly Gavin went to his classes like usual and then he went to the library to look for something to keep his mind company. He spent a day with Alex but other than that he just went to sleep. She had never dated someone before Gavin and she was really unsure what to do in her current situation because she had never had a fight with a significant other because she had never had one before. What was she supposed to do to make it up to Gavin?Apparently Gavin was working towards making it up to her as he reached and got her a bunch of flowers. They were pink and fresh from the ground but it was the thought that counted. She awkwardly smiled at him and took a deep breath of their scent. “You know you are right, they do smell good.” Why was this entire situation was so awkward? Was making up going to be this awkward every time? She looked at the flowers focusing on the petals before looking back up at Gavin. “I studied, slept, and went to class.” Well that sounded boring and pathetic like she was just sitting around to make up with Gavin and have him take her back. “What have you been up too?” Skip to next post Re: [May 17] The way things should be [Nicola] Reply #6 on July 11, 2009, 06:31:22 PM Besides sleeping, eating, and studying Gavin did nothing else to occupy his time. His life was rather boring without Nicola and he never knew how much she took up his time now after she left. He didn't want to sound pathetic, but he didn't do much at all. "Well I didn't do anything really. You know the usual." The making up process was so boring and all Gavin wanted to do was just skip over it and start their relationship where they left off. Being blunt, Gavin had to let it out. "You know I hate making up, it's such a horrible process where I just want to gorge my eyes out of their sockets." He flashed his goofy smile and took Nicola's hand. "How about we just forget about the fight?"Gavin hated talking in circles and feeling uncomfortable. He rather just forget about everything and move on. One of the things Gavin hated to do was express himself and talk things through. He wanted to forgive and forget and not remember. He hated to dwell in the past; nothing good came out of it. He learned this from experience. "Did you know that I kind of missed you. I mean I had no one to kiss. I was rather lonely." teased Gavin. He lightly pushed her with his shoulder and laughed. Nicola was so delicate and he liked that. Skip to next post
