Wand: Lenora's wand is 11 3/4" long and made of dogwood with a dragon heart string core. It is springy and has an intricately decorated shaft- the pattern looks like peacock feathers.

Physical Description: Lenora stands at 5'5" and is of average weight for her height. She has dark skin, black hair, and brown eyes. Her smile is bright and welcoming, and she's smiling the majority of the time. Nora is definitely a girly-girl in her manner of dress. She wears bright colors, skirts, dresses, and other things considered to be traditionally feminine. She loves fashion and make up and cute shoes are probably one of her favorite things. Lenora carries herself with confidence and usually has a bounce in her step. Her hands and clothing are often smudged with paints or other artistic mediums. She also regularly has smudges on her face from wiping away sweat or pushing hair out of her face when she's in the midst of painting.


Personality Description: Lenora is definitely a dreamer. She loves to paint and draw and carries a sketch pad with her and often has water colors in her bag somewhere. Her spare time is usually spent in front of an easel- in various parts of the castle, depending on her mood and current inspiration. She always finds the beauty in things and sees the world through rose-colored glasses. Lenora gets lost in her own head sometimes, is often day dreaming, and sees beauty in the world around her. She loves nature and spends a lot of time outside- no matter what the weather is.

Though she is intelligent and naturally talented at magic, Lenora doesn't consider her academic performance the be all end all of her scholastic career- which can be unusual for Ravenclaws. Of course her grades matter, and she works to maintain them, but she has a natural talent and therefore doesn't spend an unusual amount of her time studying. She completes her assignments on time, but doesn't go "above and beyond".

Lenora is very protective of those she cares about. This is particularly true for her brother- who can be very sensitive. Though she isn't prone to violent or angry outbursts, she's been known to hex a person (or a few persons) who have teased or bullied her brother for his very unique personality. She's done the same when things have happened to her friends. Of course she's never seriously harmed someone, or gotten into serious trouble for it, but by now she has developed a reputation for being a bit of a firecracker when it comes to those she cares about.

She's can be somewhat absent minded. Lenora gets lost in her thoughts often and can lose track of time when it comes to her painting. Because of this sometimes she comes off as flakey and noncommittal. Her art and her own interests and endeavors often take precedence over the other things going on in her life. She misses meetings, dates, hang outs, study groups, etc. fairly often because she just... forgets. Of course she apologizes, but it can be frustrating.


History: Lenora Inez Amherst was not actually born on February 28, 1993. In actuality, she was born on February 23, 1993- a mere five days before the birth of her cousin and supposed twin brother, Eli Amherst. Her biological mother is actually Inez Vega- her adopted mother's sister. Lenora's mother died in childbirth (her biological father long gone before her birth) and she was adopted by the Amherst's and raised as Eli's twin sister. Being so close in age, and already related by blood, this seemed the simplest way to handle the situation of adoption and to make Lenora a part of the family. Lenora still is unaware that she was adopted and believes herself to be Eli's biological twin- and was told that she was born a few minutes before her brother.

She had a good childhood. Because of her brother's hearing problems she learned BSL alongside him and her parents. This makes her capable of speaking English, Spanish, and BSL. Lenora and her brother got along (mostly) growing up- but of course they fought, as all siblings often do.

Lenora always loved books when she was young. Especially brightly illustrated children's books. She began drawing and painting when she was young, mimicking the styles in her books. (Including drawing and painting on the walls.) Lenora always begged for volumes about wizard art and then began to try and recreate the images from those books, as well. She showed a natural aptitude for art at an early age. Painting soon became her preferred method, though she always kept a sketch book as well.

First year she hoped she would be put in the same house as her brother. The two were close, and she felt very protective of him. But she watched as Eli was sorted into Slytherin and then the sorting hat put her into Ravenclaw house- despite her protests about wanting to stay with her brother. The house, however, was a good fit. Rowena Ravenclaw always admired creativity, originality, and individuality- something that Lenora definitely possessed.

She was an intelligent and capable student. She excelled in most of her subjects with very little effort. She had good grades, was responsible, and save for defending her brother rarely broke the rules. She fit into Ravenclaw well and as she got older understood more about why she wasn't placed in Slytherin.

In her fifth year, Lenora did remarkably well on her OWLs. She chose to carry on her studies in a handful of classes- Charms, History of Magic, Herbology, Potions, and Transfiguration. She chose these classes because Nora's biggest dream is to become a successful, professional artist. Charms and Transfiguration will aid her in enchanting her paintings. She hopes to use Herbology and Potions to learn how to produce her own magical paints. History of Magic was her "fun" class. She has always loved and been fascinated by history and loves to paint historical events with her own little twist on things.

As a seventh year, she's beginning to doubt herself. Becoming a famous, successful, employed artist is not something that just happens to people. She paints constantly in her spare time and is hoping when she graduates to find a job either at an art gallery or in a place that would help to further her career. She truly has an amazing talent for art, and her paintings are beautifully done with very elegant magic work to animate them and bring them alive. She has thought about opening up some kind of art shop or teaching lessons to kids but she isn't sure what she will do for sure yet. Lenora figures she has time to get all of her ducks in a row. It's a whole year before she takes her NEWTs after all.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Lenora is the sort of Ravenclaw to fit the creative aspect. She is an artist through and through and loves to paint and draw. She can be dreamy and is very open minded. She is also naturally gifted at magic and intelligent.

Sum up your character in one paragraph: Lenora is an artistic dreamer. Her life is consumed by her painting and drawing and art is the only thing she has ever loved and the only thing she can imagine doing in her future. She's friendly and easy to get along with- as long as you don't accidentally cross her brother or her friends. She's a talented student and does well in her classes. She can be absent minded and get sidetracked easily. But all in all she is a good friend, a good person, and a good student who just wants to succeed and chase her dreams.
