[Aug. 4th] Congratulations! (Theo)

on January 20, 2015, 12:54:20 PM

Liadan had never been happier. Being married to Oscar was like a dream come true. And with his family being quiet large, there seemed more than enough to keep her busy with visiting and socializing. She was particularly fond of many of the Whitman children. When news reached Liadan that Oscar's godson had received the most prestigious title of Head Boy, she had been ecstatic. Oh, the Whitman family! What a fortuitous thing to be counted among their number! Now if only she could have her own little baby Whitman...

But lacking her own child to dote upon, Liadan had taken it upon herself to dote upon the children of Oscar's extended family. She wanted so much for the Whitmans to like her- and she had such maternal cravings- that she really could not help herself.

Thus, upon hearing the news of Theo Whitman's being appointed head boy, she decided that he deserved a gift of congratulations and celebration. She sent him an owl, requesting him to accompany her to Diagon Alley. Liadan did not know Theo well enough to choose an appropriate gift for him, and was hoping that taking him out to browse the shops would allow him to choose his own gift. It was only right, after all, that she and Oscar do something nice for him. And Oz was so very busy with the ministry that she took it upon herself to take the lead in this particular endeavor.

"I am so very proud of you, Theo," she told him as they made their way down Diagon Alley. "Head boy! Of course it is only fitting for a Whitman. And I have heard both head boy and head girl are Slytherins this year. I still have a large amount of house pride, and it pleases me to know that my old house is still conducting itself with propriety." She picked up the skirts of her dress as she stepped over a puddle. "I do hope you will take advantage of our outing today. Oscar and I both wanted to congratulate you for your position- but he has been so busy with the ministry lately that he hasn't had the time to aid me in finding the perfect gift for you. And, unfortunately, I still am not familiar enough with Oscar's family to be able to choose the appropriate token of affection on my own..."

Liadan trailed off with a dramatic sigh. "But that is no matter! You must promise me, Theo, that if there is anything you would like that you will let me know. Oscar says I shouldn't be so keen to spoil all of you, but I simply cannot help it..." Liadan gave him a soft smile. "Head Boy!" she repeated again, placing a hand to her chest. "I always dreamt of being head girl when I was a student, but it never came to pass... No matter, look at me now!" She looked down at the wedding band on her hand smiled. "Married to Oscar Whitman! A luckier woman there never was, dear Theo."
