[August 1 2010] Every Flavor Means Every Flavor [Peyton, then open] on January 10, 2015, 10:43:29 PM Nicholas wasn't generally one to just hang out outside a ice cream parlour, or well anywhere in Diagon Alley. Though that might have just been because of the past difficulty of getting there before he could apparate or floo whenever and wherever he needed to. But, as much as he enjoyed his internship and liked Molly and Casper, his trousers just needed a break. And his brain. He was thankful that Molly was pregnant because if not for that, between her and Casper he'd be completely distracted 24/7. Or at least when he wasn't neck deep in the internship. So to ensure the structural integrity of his trousers for the rest of the summer, Nicholas found himself in Diagon on his days off when Molly didn't need a hand around the cottage. It'd taken him weeks to get up the nerve to try the new Bertie Botts Every Flavor Ice Cream, but today he was finally eating it. His feet up on the chair across from him he alternated between relaxed and disgusted, surely an interesting sight for passerby, though the at times strange witches and wizards going about their business could hardly judge.Every lick managed to be a different flavor or flavor combination. And just like the bean version, he regretted every other lick. Vanilla and chocolate and lemon were great but those were usually followed by broccoli, clam, and flavors he couldn't identify. It was even worse when they mixed. Yet he kept eating it. It was probably spelled to make you keep eating. After a particularly gross lick that involved a mix of black pudding and licorice, he couldn't help but to spit the ice cream out. There was something wrong with the people at Bertie Botts. Looking up to find a trash can he spotted the Ravenclaw quidditch captain. Peyton was still their quidditch captain wasn't he? Nicholas only really followed enough to know where Gryffindor stood. "Oui, Peyton!" Nicholas called out. He'd somehow not seen that many of his classmates over the summer, except for the ones that also had Ministry internships. But at the Ministry they were usually busy."How's your summer been? You get around to flying that muggle bloke up here?" Nicholas said way to loudly as he approached the taller boy, causing several nearby witches to turn and look. For once he was starting to look forward to his life outside of Hogwarts now that he was heading towards his final year at school. He was hoping to go Professional with Quidditch but it was good to know he had options should that fall through. He was taking a stroll down the cobblestone enjoying the quiet Sunday afternoon when he heard someone call his name. He looked around curiously until he saw Bevans heading towards him with a large ice cream cone. He absently wondered what flavour it was before the Gryffindor started to question him rather loudly.Peyton smiled widely and steeled himself, determined not to blush. He flung his arm around Bevans' shoulders and gave him a little squeeze with a well sculpted bicep while chuckling in an attempt to be friendly while also quieting him, "Summer's been good." He glanced around at the passer-by who paid no mind to the teenagers, "funny thing about that. I saw him for a bit at the beginning of the Summer but he broke things off when I told him about magic." Quieter now that the other teen was close enough to have an arm around him. Then then thought occured to him. "I could probably get an obliviator to take care of that. Might have to come up with a better reason. But he's a muggle, right? So he's not supposed to know and all that. Still don't understand all that, I mean my mum knows and all."He started to take a bite of the ice cream still in his hand, but then thought better of it. "Actually, you'd probably just end up in trouble for telling him." Nicholas steered them both over toward a trashcan next to a potions supply store, and unceremoniously dumped the cone into the trash."Don't try the Bertie Botts Every Flavor Ice Cream...its worse than the beans. The flavors end up mixing." He wasn't quite sure how he felt about all of it. He was a little upset that Steve had ditched him just because he was a wizard. Apparently finding out that magic was real was just too real for him. There hadn't really been a relationship to walk away from in the first place, they hadn't spent that much time together but it was the first time someone had rejected him just for being, well him."My Grandfather's an Obliviator." He added with a furrowed brow though he could hardly imagine asking Arathorn for such a favour. He had only met his Grandfather once and that had only been because the man was at his wit's end trying to find Peyton's wayward brother. The Patriarch of the Wentworth bloodline had removed Peyton's branch from the family tree when his father was disowned and wasn't like to welcome them back any time soon.Peyton smirked as he tossed the ice cream, "that doesn't sound that bad." He had never been a fan of the beans to begin with but it hadn't to do with the every flavour bit, he just didn't like jelly beans in general, "how's your holidays been?" Skip to next post
