Physical Description:
Six foot two, a husky build and sharp facial features describe this muggleborn officer of the Magical Law Enforcement Patrol. Steel blue eyes and a dark brown crew cut follow his idea of having "complex and chilling vigilance, but a warm and simple appearance".

He is often seen in his black knee-length trench coat, black turtleneck, black jeans, black calf-high engineer boots and black gloves. A brown buckle-belt is also worn with his pants and also holds his badge. Bill wears a white-gold wedding band underneath one of his gloves, showing his continued love for his deceased wife. Thatcher often keeps his wand in a holster attached to his boot for easy access and fast drawing in case of needed use. A silver watch adorns his left wrist and a golden locket is underneath his turtleneck bearing a picture of his wife.

Personality Description:
William Thatcher is calm, collected and not easily frightened or stressed out. He is protective of all of those who get into his line of sight and acts as a pseudo-watchdog for those who can't defend themselves or who get into his line of sight. Even the criminals he hunts are worth more to him, in terms of life, than his own safety.

Thatcher is calm under extreme pressure and is able to work in the stressful job of being a Patrolman. He is mentally prepared to risk his life and die for those who need him and respects his colleagues both inside and outside his department.

However, despite his respectful and protective personality, Bill is often very close-minded about his wife, keeping the memories locked away for his and his colleagues' safety. When the topic of his wife is brought up, Thatcher can become agitated and nervous, often evolving into anger if the topic is pressed for long enough.

History:
Born in Paradise Valley, Arizona in the United States circa 1987, William Thatcher was born to two muggles and did not learn of his magical bloodline until the age of 10. After his parents realized their son's magical bloodline, they were contacted by a "mysterious benefactor" who offered to take their son to the Red Rocks Academy, to which they accepted to give their son a "better life than what he could have had here, we can't suppress who he really is".

After graduating in 2003, Thatcher wandered the US searching for work that required his "particular set of skills", to which there were none that caught his interest. Wanting to travel "off the record" for a change, Thatcher boarded a plane to London and decided to start over.

Upon his arrival in London, Thatcher couldn't help but notice a Ministry Law Enforcement Officer being attacked and quickly jumped into action, grabbing his wand and helping the Officer take care of the attacker. Upon the quick thanks of the Officer and the recommendation to join the Ministry of Magic's Department of Magical Law Enforcement, he took the offer and, after taking the needed specifications, was apart of the Department's Magical Law Enforcement Patrol.

Being apart of the Magical Law Enforcement Patrol, William Thatcher is subject to the standard patrol routes, procedures and jurisdiction of the Patrolmen. He follows the standard procedures of the job, rarely "streamlining" the process and staying to the books.

Loyalty, dedication, a keen eye and the calm head and demeanor to stay ahead of anything he may come across. His dueling prowess and strength in overall procedures make him an ideal Patrolman for the Ministry's Patrol unit.

This was his second year on the job and he had seen enough to write ten detective novels about it. "-And yet...I'm still loving my job...funny how that works."Thatcher thought to himself, checking his watch. It was five past three in the evening. He was waiting on the side of a street in London, the city he had called home for almost two years now.

 The large buildings and the grey sky above were a far cry from the desert and bright blue sky of Arizona. Frankly, he didn't mind the change. He preferred the cold rather than the warmth, it kept him mentally sharp and saved him the time of wiping sweat from his brow.

He was waiting, not for anything specific, just waiting. A passing wizard threw him a nod of hello, to which William responded with a salute and a smile. He valued these witches and wizards who he monitored, none of their antics got to him, not even the younger ones pulling pranks on each other.

The wind blew up suddenly, catching him in the chin, making him fold the collar of his trench coat up to protect against it. He put his hands in his pockets and moved away across the street. "Nowhere to be, nothing to do...just to sit and people-watch...some watchdog i am..."William muttered to himself, cracking a small smile and chuckling at the small joke. His calm and collected personality fitting the job well and his sense of preservation for those around him also fitting the type of work he does. Willingness to die for the Witches and Wizards watched over by the Ministry's Patrol and for those in his department make him sharply dedicated and loyal as a fine blade, but his skill with a wand is just as sharp as his loyalty is.
