[May 23rd] The Late Breakfasters. [Mystique, OPEN] on June 28, 2009, 05:09:53 PM [9:30 AM]The rush of breakfast was already gone and everyone was in the Great Hall, eating their pastries and muffins. All of the good food was long gone and all there was really left was meat pies and fruit. Beatrix Dark didn't mind at all, of course. She liked the meat pies and knew that no one else did. She was taking her sweet time to the Great Hall and was hardly down the Entrance Hall steps yet. Beatrix wasn't always slow in the morning, but she had a long night of talking with her roommates about random girly stuff. With soft steps, Beatrix reached the bottom landing and began to slowly walk towards the Great Hall's doorway. She was so skinny and weightless; one could hardly hear her footsteps going through the empty hallway. Beatrix hated that, because she was afraid that if she were to join the quidditch team she'd get knocked off her broom in one of the occasional storms they have. She'd fly in the wind! "That sounds like fun." Bea laughed to herself, daydreaming about flying.Beatrix swayed, slightly, and giggled, “I wish I could fly. I bet I can…” Then she paused, “I think I would probably fly straight into a wall… Or into the forest where all the centaurs are. I will be beaten to death by a centaur!” She finally pushed away her fantasy and focused on getting breakfast. The last thing she needed was to be frightened of Centaurs. Everyone would laugh if she were to face a Boggart. All it would be is a horse with a man’s upper body instead of a head, saying “Hey. How’s it going?” and she’ll just be crying in the corner. She shook her head at her thoughts and chuckled. Her imagination was going wild these days. Bea never really could control what she thought, which just made her seem like a looney. She liked that about herself, though everyone else would just laugh at her. Just the other day she was being made fun of for talking to herself… She didn’t mind, though. Before Beatrix got halfway across the Entrance Hall she had tripped over her own foot and fell onto her stomach. She mumbled to herself about how she needed to stop doing that and pushed herself off the floor. “Silly me.” Beatrix giggled before she stood back up. She’d stayed up way to late reading that book on charms and as a result, woke up late. Somehow she also slept through her first alarm and was surprised to see that she was late for breakfast.“Oh crap!” she exclaimed as she rolled out of bed, and onto the floor. Mysti stood up and then rubbed her knees, which absorbed most of the falling pain. Looking around, she noticed that everyone else had already gone down to breakfast. She quickly made her way to her wardrobe and got dressed. Mysti felt her head, and realized it was a mess. So she then dug through her chest to find her hairbrush and when she did, made sure her hair looked presentable. On her way out the door of the common room, she forgot one important thing. Shoes. With a few select words of annoyance, Mysti ran back up to the common room to put her socks and shoes on. Stomach grumbling with hunger, she quickly made her way back out through the common room to the exit, or entrance, to the Hufflepuff area of the castle. She found her way to the stairs from the cellars to the Entrance Hall and found herself moving faster as she smelled the food.Mysti took a moment to look back, thinking she heard something dropping. When she looked forward again, she almost ran into Beatrix, who was on the ground. She stopped and saw Bea stand back up, and Mysti couldn’t help but laugh a little.“Bea! You all right? And I’m glad I’m not the only latecomer to breakfast!” She said, also glad to see her friend. “How about we go see what they’ve got left. I hope they’ve still got some good fruit at least.”Mysti then headed towards the Great Hall, stomach growling a bit more as the smell of food got stronger. And I’m glad I’m not the only latecomer to breakfast!"Beatrix squeaked with freight, but then realized it was only Mystique Ketteridge. "Oh! Mystique!" Her face lit up at the sight of her friend and she dusted off her skirt. She wasn't wearing her coat [[Or robe... Whatever you want to call it]] again, but for some reason her teachers didn't mind. It was the only part of their uniform that Beatrix hated to wear. She got over-heated quite easily, since they had to wear three layers of clothes... Indoors. Beatrix adjusted her tie and started to pick up her pace to catch up with Mystique.“How about we go see what they’ve got left. I hope they’ve still got some good fruit at least.”Beatrix was right by Mystique’s side now, waving her hand in the air. “Honestly? That’s all they will have. No one eats the fruit… People are rather unhealthy.” She giggled and flicked her hair out of her face. “I do this all the time… There should be some meat pie left, some pears and grapes, and for some reason at the Slytherin table there’s always a big bowl of muffins left.” Beatrix raised an eyebrow, “It’s weird, really. But I usually grab a couple when I walk pass them.” She smiled and opened the door to the Great Hall. Everyone was chatting with each other about nonsense and patting their full stomachs.“Quick, grab a muffin!” Beatrix whispered to Mystique as they took their first steps into the busy hall. She hoped that she and Mystique could somehow eat with each other and catch up on what’s been happening in their lives. Mystique and Beatrix didn’t get chances like this a whole lot and she really wanted to talk with her… Even if it was about nothing. “Hey, Mystique, do you think the Hufflepuffs will mind if I sit at your table?” She smiled at her friend, politely. Beatrix stopped her tracks at the Slytherin table, where a couple of people looked at her like ‘Oh. It’s only Beatrix.’ and she grabbed a couple of pastries and muffins. The students just sort of shrugged and went back to chatting. This happened every morning.“We haven’t talked in a while.” She turned to Mystique and grinned, “I think this was fate.” Bea winked and giggled. That would have been neat if Beatrix had seen this coming during Divination. She would call herself psychic and would give people their futures for free. Or if they were Alexander Snark, for a kiss, and then she’d give him a phony bologna future about how they will get married. It’d creep him out, most likely, but Beatrix would want him to know. It was just how she felt. Skip to next post Re: [May 23rd] The Late Breakfasters. [Mystique, OPEN] Reply #3 on June 29, 2009, 08:17:28 PM “Honestly? That’s all they will have. She then followed Bea as the door to the Great Hall was opened. As soon as it was opened, the noise level rose a few octaves. Everyone talking about what they were going to do on the weekend, or whatever. Mysti walked in by Bea and looked around at the tables full of people.“Quick, grab a muffin!”Mystique heard Bea whisper into her ear, then looked over to the Slytherin table. There was, in fact, a pile of muffins and a few pastries. She hesitated at first, hoping they wouldn’t notice. Then, doing as she was told, for the sake of muffiny goodness, Mysti grabbed a couple of the fluffy pastries. “Hey, Mystique, do you think the Hufflepuffs will mind if I sit at your table?” “Nah, I don’t think they will. We’re all pretty cool.” She then watched as Bea grabbed a few muffins and pastries too. When she heard the Slytherins mention something about it just being Bea, she was glad. She didn’t want any scene to start over muffins. Talk about silly things to argue about, that would be one of them.“We haven’t talked in a while.” She turned to Mystique and grinned, “I think this was fate.”Mysti laughed. “Perhaps it was! Because how else was I supposed to get some muffins?” Muffins in hand, she let Bea over to the Hufflepuff table. Smiling to a few other friends, she eventually sat down at the table and put the couple of muffins down on the plate in front of her. She then grabbed some grapes from the nearly empty fruit bowl and added them to the plate.“So why are you late to breakfast? Or do you usually come late, since you know you can steal muffins from the Slytherins?” Mysti asked, before taking a bite from one of the muffins. She knew there had to be some neglected food at the tables. Why would someone eat the taffy-flavored biscuits with cheese, or the chicken donuts filled with gravy? Well, actually, Bea liked those donuts, but she ate them under the table so no one saw her. They were very disgusting looking things, but at the end of lunch it seems that someone has eaten all of them. Perhaps it's one of those portly Hufflepuffs she sees sometimes when she's late to lunch. With a big smile, Beatrix followed Mystique to the Hufflepuff table. She waved to a couple of her Ravenclaw friends, a couple of her Slytherin friends, and... Well... She has no Gryffindor or Hufflepuff friends (Besides Mystique), really, so there was no one to wave to. It was rather odd how things worked out like that. Besides being friends with themselves, Beatrix has only ever really seen Slytherins befriend Ravenclaws. It was rather odd.“Perhaps it was! Because how else was I supposed to get some muffins?”"... You could of seen them and grabbed them... And ran?" Beatrix giggled, "I don't think the Slytherin table would just stop what they were doing and get offended that you grabbed some unwanted muffins." She added with another chuckle. She sat down next to Mystique and grabbed a beaten up pear off a plate that used to be the plate of toast (At least, that's what it looked like) and bit into it. She looked up and down the table for some meat pies and eventually grabbed one off of someone's plate. They weren't eating it, anyways.“So why are you late to breakfast? Or do you usually come late, since you know you can steal muffins from the Slytherins?”Beatrix swallowed and turned to Mystique, "Ohm... I always show up late." She shrugged, grinning. "It's not worth getting up early for, really. There's always something left, so might as well milk my way downstairs." She took another bite of her pear and took a minute to chew it and swallow, "Why were you late, Mysti?" She gave her an innocent smile and a wink. Nothing too exciting.” Mysti took a moment to reflect back on that book she’d been reading. It wasn’t necessarily for class, but it did pertain to something they’d talked about in class. Wanting to be a healer, Mysti was most interested in healing charms, and Professor Fleetfoot had mentioned a charm for sealing wounds. Bea is a Ravenclaw, so she might understand something about staying up reading a book. Mysti pulled the book out and set it on the table between her and Bea to show her. Then she took another bite out of the muffin sitting in front of her.“Well, it was kind of exciting, but to someone interested in charms.” She said after swallowing the bite of muffin. “So how are things going with you?
