[May 25th] Quiet, you! [Gavin, PM]

on June 28, 2009, 12:26:00 AM

[12:00 PM]

The school was buzzing with chatting students, all excited for the weekend. Even though weekends meant nothing in this school, they at least had a break from classes. Beatrix Dark had taken cover in an empty classroom so she wouldn't get caught in the rush towards... Where ever everyone was going. She didn't feel like being in a crowd, nor did she feel like socializing. Beatrix was just lounging around with her feet on the desk in front of her, humming a made-up song, and mindlessly doodling in her notebook.

Beatrix wasn't used to having nothing to do, but she was happy to be alone. As... lonely as that seems. Beatrix's life wasn't all too exciting. It all died down once her Father left, but she still gets some joy with her best friend. Even though she hardly ever saw him anymore. She tapped her quill, quietly, on her paper and shook her leg back and forth. Beatrix was getting a little anxious for something to happen. Being lazy and alone was getting boring.

“It’s not like I want anyone to waltz in and talk to me.” Beatrix mumbled to herself, kicking her legs off the desk and holding her head up with her arm against the back of the chair. “Okay. I do.” She finally murmured and leaned over the desk in front of her, her hands in between her knees. Beatrix was a lonely, lonely little girl. “Shut up.” She told herself, almost chuckling afterwards. She seemed like a looney. Thank goodness no one was around to watch her.

“Well, Ms. Dark. What now?” Bea giggled to herself and clicked her heels together. She decided to finally stop talking to herself, since it was a little strange. Bea began to doodle again with her heels still clicking. She drew herself a small, little cartoon of Alexander Snark saying “I’m better than you!” and smiled to herself. But she immediately tore it out of her notebook and waded it up into a small ball. Bea was embarrassed by her dumb obsessions. She threw the ball, aiming for a trash can, and failed, miserably. Beatrix sighed and got up to throw the ball away properly.

For a Sunday morning Gavin was up pretty early. It was probably since the boys in his dorm were chatting the whole morning about girls they wanted to date. After going down to the kitchens to get something to eat, Gavin started to wonder the castle searching for something to do. He had no idea where Nicola was, she was probably hanging out with a couple of friends which was a good idea. Speaking of friends, Gavin should be hanging out with them more often. He spent too much time with his girlfriend, not like it really bothered him.

He tried to look for his nephew Alex but he had no luck. The boy was probably practicing for Quidditch, what a weird sport. Gavin never really found interest in the sport. The weird part was that his niece, nephew, and brother enjoyed it while Gavin loved to gamble on the sport. It was another reason why Gavin was different from his family but he would support them -- with money on the side. Deciding that it was a better idea to leave Alex in peace, Gavin moved on.

As he approached the fifth floor, he started to hear someone speaking. Was that person talking to herself? How strange, Gavin thought, only people who have no friends talk to themselves. As he approached the classroom, Gavin peeked inside. It was that girl with the weird cloths, hair, and personality. He didn't want to bother her just yet, she was busy talking to herself and drawing something. When she missed Gavin suppressed a laugh. Man she was bad at throwing.

Settling himself into an empty desk as she went up to throw the trash away. Gavin watched her. "Why are you talking to yourself?" He asked her. Gavin was really blunt sometimes which made him real. He never really talked to the girl before. She was in Gryffindor? Who knew?  He didn't really care. She never really caught his eye until now. He couldn't help but make fun of her. She was such an easy target and wasn't she the girl who drooled over Alex all the time? How cute.

"Why are you talking to yourself?"

Beatrix quickly shot around, completely frightened by the voice. Bea’s scared expression melted away as soon as she saw who had been watching her. Gavin Snark wasn’t kind to Beatrix at all. He thought she was something merely to laugh at and he tended to tell her to be quiet a lot since she giggled all the time. He was no Devlin Matthews, but he was still rather… Dare I say… Snarky and cruel. Beatrix stared at Gavin for a few seconds, her face clear of any emotions, and finally answered him. “Why were you watching me?” Her voice sounded a bit crude, but she was polite enough.

Even though Gavin was so… Frustrating. Beatrix didn’t mind him at all. Sure, he hurt her feelings a couple of times. But that’s because she’s a fourteen year old girl. Beatrix never really showed that Gavin had hurt her feelings, because he would probably just laugh some more. Plus, Bea wasn’t big on being depressed. She usually just pretended that she was completely angry at the person while wishing they would apologize. Only… With Gavin, she kept her mouth shut and let him have his way.

“I was talking to myself…” Beatrix began, clearing her throat, “Because I thought no one was watching.” Her eyes narrowed and she edged, slightly, towards her stuff. “Plenty of people do that, Mr. Snark. I doubt that you do, but a lot of people, when they’re alone, talk to themselves.” Beatrix kept her eyes on Gavin as she finally inched her way to her stuff. Not that she was planning on running, she just didn’t want him seeing her notebook full of drawings of his nephew. Which he would probably laugh at. It was also Bea’s journal filled with her dumb little thoughts.

Beatrix didn’t write all too much in that book, but what she did write was rather cruel and disturbing. She had written some about Gavin, yes. Just little things like “Mr. Snarky thought it was funny that I tripped in the hall today. Now that I think about it, it would be funny to see HIM fall flat on his face.” Beatrix stuffed her book into her bag and looked back up at Gavin, “What else, Mr. Snark? Or did you just want to a question?” Beatrix may have wished for someone to come talk to her, but he sure wasn’t going to make her feel loved and fuzzy.

“Why were you watching me?”

"Well I wasn't really watching you until I heard you down the hall. It's not my fault you were so loud." he said to her as he put his feet on the desk. She wasn't that bright was she? He crossed his ankles and looked around the classroom. It was sure empty -- there were only a few desks, some broken, and there was an old chalk board that looked like it went through hell and back. He had only been here once and that was when he was being tutored his second year with a very hott seventh year. Those were the days...

He never thought he would be with -- What was her name? Gavin was so bad at names; no he merely remembered names of people that he actually liked. Usually Gavin would just refer her to weird girl or loser. Yes, it was cruel and mean but what could anyone expect from Gavin? He wasn't perfect and he couldn't remember everyone's names. Wasn't she a third year for crying out loud?

"I do not talk to myself at least not out loud. You are a very weird person, I wouldn't think a Gryffindor would have such weird qualities but what qualities do they have in the first place?" chuckling, Gavin moved a curl from his face. He shouldn't be saying that... his niece was in Gryffindor.  Just like any other day his hair was a mess and his outfit was the latest fashion. Stupid rich people right? But this girls outfit was... rather funny looking. She looked like a freak, only a muggle would wear something like that.

This was getting boring. Nothing really caught Gavin's attention for long and maybe it was about time to start making fun of someone else. "So you're a third year right? I don't really talk to third years so consider yourself lucky." Was she a third year? Gavin had no idea. Just like names he was bad at years.

"Well I wasn't really watching you until I heard you down the hall. It's not my fault you were so loud."

Beatrix blushed, slightly. Had she really been that loud? Or was Gavin just being a git again? She shook her head, slightly, and sighed. “Whatever.” She mumbled, sitting down in the chair next to her. Her stomach was twisting in a knot with discomfort, but that was just normal Beatrix. Being around older students like Gavin always made her want to leave the room and never say a word. But that was rude, and Beatrix wasn’t rude. She was a polite young girl.

"I do not talk to myself at least not out loud. You are a very weird person, I wouldn't think a Gryffindor would have such weird qualities but what qualities do they have in the first place?”

“Yes, yes. I know.” She muttered and shrugged. Beatrix was way used to being called weird, especially by Gavin. She just really didn’t care. But then her head perked up and she snarled a bit, “Gryffindor? I’m a Ravenclaw, thank you very much.” Her eyes narrowed even more maliciously and she scoffed. “That’s like me saying, ‘Oh, Mr. Snark. You must be a Hufflepuff since you’re so sweet’.” Her lips curled into a diabolical smile at the joke she just made. From what she knew about Gavin, he probably wouldn’t know that she was kidding. He was rather self-absorbed. Beatrix did notice him looking at her outfit in a strange way. She could care less about his fancy wardrobe, she didn’t have any money for new clothes and her mother would give her any because she didn’t trust Bea. She didn’t really care; she usually just wore her school uniform.

"So you're a third year right? I don't really talk to third years so consider yourself lucky."

Beatrix let out a small, cold laugh. “Oh… You’re not joking?” She mumbled under her breath after a few moments of staring at him like he was about to say ‘Just Kidding!’ Beatrix was rather annoyed now, but kept her mouth shut about it. “I’ll be a fifth year come autumn.” Her laughter was long gone now and she wasn’t planning on doing it again. “I’m surprised you can’t tell the difference between younger students now, Mr. Snark. I, for one, can’t tell the difference between you and a fifth year…” She paused and gave him an icy glare, “You are a fifth year, aren’t you?”

Though that wasn’t the best comeback that Beatrix has made, it was a lot like the insult that Gavin had thrown at her. Which was what she wanted. Beatrix wasn’t in the mood, really, to take on Gavin. This wasn’t a good thing, because he would tear her to pieces. She decided to keep the insults in the back of her mind before Gavin got enraged. That was really the only concern Beatrix had right now. She just needed to answer his questions until he got what he wanted.

"Gryffindor? I’m a Ravenclaw, thank you very much. That’s like me saying, ‘Oh, Mr. Snark. You must be a Hufflepuff since you’re so sweet’.”

It wasn't Gavin's fault that he had mistaken the girl for being a Gryffindor. It wasn't like he saw her around all the time and interacted with her on a daily basis. He had much better things to do then jot down where everyone was from and what house/year they were in. It would just simply take too much time out of Gavin's schedule to remember who is who and quite frankly it would give him an intense headache. It was worse than listening to his niece singing in the shower at home. With a quiet sniffle, Gavin tried to crumble his face to make it seem like he was offended that he was just being called sweet.

"I've been called many things but sweet was never one of them. That's new, thanks for the compliment love." Maybe the girl had another Snark in mind. She might have been referring to his nephew-- Alex. Not only did Gavin know that she made quick glances at him whenever she saw him but she would cheer for Slytherin whenever he played Quidditch. Now... that was just weird. He couldn't see this girl being part of his family. A bad taste was starting to bubble in his mouth and he felt the urge to spit. The girl was just getting weirder and weirder... So why wasn't she in Hufflepuff? He didn't mind Ravenclaws that much except for a certain few who thought they were smarter than everyone else. If they were they would've been in Slytherin. Ahh house rivalry, what a beautiful thing.

“I’m surprised you can’t tell the difference between younger students now, Mr. Snark. I, for one, can’t tell the difference between you and a fifth year…You are a fifth year, aren’t you?”

Was she trying to insult Gavin once more, man she was on a role! "So you are saying you are just like me? After just insulting me on how I can't tell the difference between students' years now you are saying the same thing for me." Pausing for a moment he let that sink it... "Interesting." The way Gavin toyed with others was wrong indeed but rather pleasurable. It had been ages since Gavin had a good laugh at someone and this girl didn't seem that bad. At least she didn't go running off and start crying to her little friends. That's all Gavin needed, a group of girls complaining to him like they were all ganging up on him on their menstrual cycle. Joy, but Gavin enjoyed it when people were strong enough to take it. Others were just weak and were a waste of time.

"So umm what's your name?" asked Gavin with a little hint of sympathy. Of course he didn't mean it. He had no idea who she was... poor girl. "I couldn't help but notice that before I entered the room you were throwing away something that you had ripped out of your notebook. Are you an artist or something?"

Beatrix’s cruel grin spread further across her face when she noticed that the joke, or compliment, she made about Gavin struck a chord. Of course he wasn’t used to being called ‘Sweet’, since he was far from it. She wanted to laugh at the look on his face, but it was too early to act like she knew what she was doing. Her grin faded and she just stared at Gavin until he spoke. She could say that he was nothing compared to his nephew… But that would be a very big insult towards him, and he could cut Beatrix down like she was butter. She swallowed, hard, and kept the comment locked up in the back of her throat.

"I've been called many things but sweet was never one of them. That's new, thanks for the compliment love."

“Of course.” Beatrix smirked, “I’m surprised no one has ever called you that, Mr. Snark.” She paused so she didn’t begin to cackle at what she was saying, “That’s the first word that pops into my head, at least.” There was now chaos going through her head. She wanted to laugh so badly, but it would blow her innocent remarks away. She shifted a bit in her seat, and the lump in her stomach went away, slightly. He was clearly being entertained by this, else he would of left long ago… Or he wouldn’t have even entered the room at all. She was finally enjoying being around Gavin… Not in a friendly way, but in a ‘Lets-see-how-far-I-can-get-with-this-sap’ way.

"So you are saying you are just like me? After just insulting me on how I can't tell the difference between students' years now you are saying the same thing for me… Interesting.”

Her eye twitched, slightly, at his reaction. That’s it? That’s all he had to say? Beatrix was rather displeased with his response and frowned, faintly. “Yes, Mr. Snark. That’s what I said.” She said, politely. It’s not that she wished he would go off on her, she just thought it would be funny to see what happened. Even though it would probably scare her until she had to use the bathroom. Beatrix kept her face straight and mumbled, “Maybe a little lesser than me, but that’ll do.” Her eyes flickered around, but landed right back on Gavin to see if he heard her.

"So umm what's your name?"

In a situation like this, she would have normally hesitated. But Beatrix couldn’t care less right now. “Beatrix Dark, sir.” She was clearly confused by him asking her name. She’d think he wouldn’t give a hoot and just call her ‘Hairlady’ like he always did. Some people didn’t like Beatrix because of her name. She was a Dark, and the Darks had a bad reputation. She’s gotten a few frightened looks from it, also. People knew her father and knew he was on a fast track to Azkaban. That’s where he was now, anyways. Beatrix’s eyes narrowed and she bit her lip, “Why do you ask, Mr. Snark?”

"I couldn't help but notice that before I entered the room you were throwing away something that you had ripped out of your notebook. Are you an artist or something?"

Beatrix began to blush incredibly. Why would he care? She didn’t really know what to say to this. She couldn’t show him her notebook, no way. She did, however, have another notebook filled with nonsense drawings she made of her professors and fellow students. In fact, in that notebook there was a drawing of Professor Greyfriar dressed up as a bear, eating honey and saying “Aren’t I the cutest Lil’ Headmaster!?” It’s not that she liked him… She just thought he was a teddy-bear. Would she show the notebook to Gavin? ’Only if he asked, I guess.’ Beatrix thought before answering him. “Y- Yes.” She replied, slowly, “I draw a lot. I don’t know if it’s good… But I draw.” Beatrix didn’t know what Gavin wanted, but she didn’t ask.

It seemed to Gavin that the girl was enjoying Gavin's remarks; she probably had no idea that Gavin was making fun of her. Maybe Gavin was starting to get too soft, which was not a good idea. Sighing, he looked towards the wall as she answered every question he gave her. Man she was persistent. Not only was she boring Gavin but he had no idea what she was talking about. Her giggly voice was really starting to irritate Gavin's ears. He felt like they were on the verge of bleeding.

When she told Gavin her name, he nodded his head. He totally knew that. He probably heard it once before somewhere. Arielle was probably talking to Gavin about how much she was annoying or something, he had no idea. Maybe Alex was talking about her. There were several ways on how Gavin could've heard her name but he simply forgot where. It wasn't his fault; he was just lazy and didn't care.

He was interested in what was in Beatrix's notebook. Maybe it was a diary explaining how much she hated her life or maybe it was the plot to take over to school. She could be the next dark lord... or maybe not. She didn't seem like she had the brains to do something so diabolical. In fact, she looked like an innocent schoolgirl who no one liked while she wanted everyone to like her. He pitied her. Well... not really. She was still hair lady to Gavin.

"Y- Yes. I draw a lot. I don’t know if it’s good… But I draw.”

The nervousness coming off of Beatrix's body was so easy to detect, it was almost like Gavin could taste it. It was either because his looks were making her scared... Which Gavin couldn't help. It was normal for a girl to take another look at Gavin to see how good looking he was. Not like hair lady ever had a chance with him, stupid third years, but he was rather flattered nevertheless. Or the second conclusion Gavin came up with was she was shy about her drawings and didn't want anyone to see it. The second choice was probably true since Gavin wasn't too kind to the hair lady and she never stopped to look at Gavin before, she was too interested in Alex to look at Gavin. Hoowww cutee.

Without asking, Gavin got up from the desk and walked over to the weird girl and pulled out one of the notebooks inside of her bag. Yes it was wrong to go into a lady's purse, if Analiza found out he was sure to get a smack in the face, so he closed his eyes and pulled out the notebook that was clearly halfway out of the bag already. "Do you mind?" Gavin asked. He was standing right next to her with the notebook in his hands. He wasn't going to look unless he had permission. Or... maybe not.

[[Of course I don't mind. It's only a notebook.]]

Beatrix’s body tensed up as Gavin stood up. Was he leaving? Oh, how boring. But he quickly moved over towards her and had grabbed her notebook. She got up, a bit enraged. How dare he just go through her stuff! But she’s been through this before… What was she to do? Slap him? That has never gotten her far. But it was the wrong notebook he grabbed. It wasn’t the one she would have showed him. He grabbed her journal. Beatrix quickly concluded that she would no longer carry her book around.

In a disgusted tone, Bea finally muttered “I don’t care.” It’s not like it was all too bad; she just had angry rants and little drawings of Alexander and her professors. She didn’t care one bit now that she thought about it. The only thing she’d be embarrassed about is either her complaining about her Mother, or that there’s one page that all it says, in small letters, “Gavin Snark is a git” and there’s a crude drawing of him eating a meat pie off the floor. Beatrix secretly hoped he stumbled upon that just to see what he would think.

Besides that, there was nothing to worry about. Well… Maybe him learning her deranged thoughts.  Beatrix turned away from Gavin and grabbed her bag before he could go through it again. If he was really so great, why would he be so rude? Merlin, he needed to learn some manners. Beatrix remembered hearing how Gavin was supposed to be a “lady’s man”. Maybe the girls she was talking to were delusional and needed to clean out their eye sockets.

Since she was really thinking about it, how was Gavin related to Alexander? Gavin was way more crude than Alex… And how was he related to Arielle? Arielle could be such a sweetie sometimes… Beatrix pushed away these dumb little thoughts and turned back to Gavin, looking him up and down to see what he thought. Why didn’t he just ask… Politely to see it?

Opening the notebook, Gavin noticed a few drawings of people who were supposed to look like Hogwarts students. Wonder why she kept the notebook hidden, she was a horrible artist. Even he could draw better things than her, and his abilities only stretched as far as stick figures. "Interesting..." Gavin said as he continued to look through each page. He came across many pictures of his nephew Alex which didn't surprise Gavin at all. He had no idea that the hairy lady was so obsessed with Alex though; maybe he should try hooking them up... Alex would love that -- yeah... right.

One of the pages Gavin came across was one of himself. He had to say, the image of himself on the page was rather good looking. He was surprised or maybe he was just being conceded. "I can see that you have a little crush on Alex, well maybe a crush is an understatement." His lips curled into a smile as he thought of ways to embarrass the girl. He was disappointed. Gavin thought he would be seeing emotional junk that made no sense to anyone at all. Stuff like "oh my life sucks" and "why does Alex hate me".

He handed the notebook or whatever it was to the hair lady and went back to the desk he was sitting at before but instead he sat on the desk instead of the chair. This interrogation process was boring Gavin once more. "So I heard you’ve been around the block, Alex would enjoy that." he winked at her. He heard his friend Devlin speak about her before, which is where he remembered the name from. He knew that Devlin was smacked around a couple of times, which was hilarious but Gavin wasn’t as nice as Dev and if he got slapped either he would deal with it himself or the girl would probably have to face the wrath of Nicola. But then again he was only joking, he did not mean it. He just wanted to see if the girl would give in.

"Interesting..."

Beatrix's insides began to burn. She didn't like what was happening, nor did she like Gavin very much right now. She wanted to rip the book from his hands and tell him to bugger off. “I wouldn’t say interesting… More so… Boring.” Beatrix eyed Gavin. He didn’t really like it, and she could tell. There’s no way he’d ever think anything she has done is interesting. It wasn’t in the nature of a Snark to like anything about Beatrix.

"I can see that you have a little crush on Alex, well maybe a crush is an understatement."

Again, she stopped herself from saying Well, he is way better than you. She raised an eyebrow at him and didn’t really know what to say. ‘Of course I like him, you nitwit! Who doesn’t know that?’ Was the first thing that came to mind, then ‘I have no idea what you’re talking about. It’s quite obvious that I’m a lesbian.’ But that was too… Out there. She nodded and grinned as she finally answered him, “You must have brilliant observation skills. Who would have guessed?” Of course she was poking at him again, but not in a major way. “One must be a genius to ever figure THAT one out.” Beatrix’s grin turned malicious once again as she made fun of Gavin’s intelligence.

Soon as the book hit the desk, Beatrix stuffed it into her bag. “Thank you.” She murmured, politely. Not that she wanted to show manners towards Mr. Snark, but she wasn’t rude like him. “I appreciate the critique, Mr. Snark. Even if you never even told me what you thought.” Beatrix grumbled and kept her bag on her lap. She felt like her personal space was invaded by a dirty man. Because it was.

"So I heard you’ve been around the block, Alex would enjoy that.”

There was no doubt that Gavin had been talking to Devlin Matthews. Devlin was the only person in existence that had ever called her a dirty name, or said that she’s gotten around. Beatrix would joke that he was a male prostitute; he would say that she did it all for free. Then Beatrix would stomp off, grumbling ‘You won this round, Mr. Matthews’. She began to smile at the thought. It was rather funny. “Yes, Mr. Snark. I have been around the block.” Beatrix replied, coldly. This wasn’t true at all, but it was hilarious and she wanted to see what exactly Gavin was getting from this. “If one were to always believe what others say, Mr. Snark, they’d be on a long, agonizing road to nowhere.” Her eyes squinted and she glared at him.

What she just said was terribly funny to Beatrix, but she kept the laughter in the back of her throat. “If I told you that I’ve been around, what would you say, Mr. Snark?” Beatrix giggled, slightly. Her getting around? Ha. Like that’d ever happen. “Do I look like the type of person who would be liked enough by someone to actually get any action?” She suppressed another laugh and smiled at Gavin, “Only an idiot would believe that. And I see you’ve proven my point, Mr. Snark.” Though, she did secretly wish all she said was ‘Yes. I have. Will Alex really like me!?’ but that was way too desperate.

Beatrix wasn't being cooperative. In the beginning Gavin thought that she was merely joking around and now it seemed like the conversation was turning. Her remarks started to become actually... HILARIOUS. The way Gavin was affecting her was really making his day. Of course hair lady thought that she had the advantage but the more someone tried to outsmart Gavin the more amused he would become. It was a common fact to most students at Hogwarts so naturally no one really went against him. There was also the fact that Gavin didn't care. He had no sympathy.

"Darling, I didn't mean it to say that Alex would like the idea of you being around the block merely he would enjoy it since he will find out that he doesn't need to waste his time with people like you. People like you are easy to get to you and are just pawns to others that know how to toy with them. I thought wrong about you, I thought you had some self respect, even though you giggle at anything and you look like a floating cloud half the time but all the same. I thought you had some respect, but clearly, you don't." snapped Gavin. Of course there was sarcasm in his voice.

"Your drawings, well I can't say much about them since I can't even draw stick figures right. But I've seen better, a lot better." Smiling, he thought that the conversation was coming to a close. Now that Gavin had Nicola he didn't need people who were just pawns like he explained before. Nicola was his queen, and Beatrix would never be Alex's. Lucky for the whole family she wasn't.

"I am no idiot you silly girl, do I look like an idiot?" A rhetorical question that only an idiot would respond to of course. "I have respect for myself," Well now he did. "Why in the world do you call me Mr. Snark? I am flattered you call me that but there is no need." He winked at her.

It looked at first that Beatrix had actually been hurt by Gavin... She was shaking quite a bit and she had hidden her face behind her hair. What Gavin had said was completely true... Someone who would do such things should have no respect. But clearly he didn't understand that she was JOKING and now he was just being unfair. Then again... When was Gavin Snark EVER fair? Beatrix was quite a bit hurt... But she wasn't crying, oh no... She was FUMING. In a matter of seconds, Beatrix Dark had lost her cool just as she had done before with Devlin Matthews.

If Gavin thought he could talk to Beatrix that way, he was completely WRONG. She got up out of her seat and furiously pulled on her bag. "You're one to TALK, Mr. Snark." Beatrix's head snapped up at him and she crashed her chair into the desk she was just sitting at. She couldn't take much more of his idiotic jabber. "Listen to you... You yammer about respect when NO ONE respects YOU." Her happy-go-lucky voice was now shaking with anger and had a hint of coldness.

"I've never done anything to make me seem dirty... It was all Mr. Matthews and his worthless little-" She paused he realized that Alex was one of his worthless friends, "Games." Bea quickly added. She wanted so much just to flick her wand at Gavin and make his useless voice disappear forever. But she knew better... She was trying to become Prefect next year. "And I've also never done anything to make you hate me so much! Do you hate me because I live and BREATHE or what!?" Beatrix knew he hated her giggles and the way she acted, but she had never really done anything to the guy.

"And yes, you do look like an idiot." Beatrix pulled herself together and stopped herself from throwing a desk at Gavin's smug face. "You're the biggest idiot I've seen... LITERALLY." She snapped before kicking a chair in his general direction. "And I don't care what you think about my drawings... I may not be Atticus Pennyapple, but I'm sure as hell better than you." Bea grinded her teeth before continuing her nonsense rant, "If I hear you even UTTER another snide comment about me, I'll cut out your dirty tongue!"

She turned away from him, foaming nearly in anger. Beatrix wished he would just GO AWAY. "I've had my fun, now leave." Bea snapped over her shoulder before sitting down at a desk, facing away from Gavin. She needed to control herself... A couple of minutes passed before she muttered "I'm sorry... Not that it matters. But I've never done anything sexual and it gets to me that people would think that..." Beatrix didn't even attempt to see if Gavin was taking her seriously... She could just imagine the smile he must be wearing right now. "Do I look like a whore...?" She shook her head, quickly, "Don't answer that."

Gavin had no idea that Beatrix would put so much passion into her speech; did she really think he was serious? He hated when people took his sarcasm the wrong way but he couldn't always blame them, Gavin seemed to serious all the time and when he was joking people couldn't distinguish the two emotions. He let Beatrix continue on her rant; mostly he was looking at his fingertips and scratching his head. There was a spider on the wall that was climbing the ceiling where a fly awaited him. Sadly for the spider, the fly flew away before it was caught. Too bad the spider didn't form a web to catch the fly; it was kind of like what Gavin wanted to do to Beatrix. He wanted her to stop talking, just like the spider wanted the fly to stop flying.

"If I hear you even UTTER another snide comment about me, I'll cut out your dirty tongue!"

That seemed to get Gavin's attention. His head tilted upward and his eyes narrowed in confusion. Did she have any idea who she was speaking to? It was Gavin Snark, a man with magic abilities far from many students in the school, a third year Gryffindor was no challenge to him. He snickered at her comment. Gavin wasn't heartless, he did have a heart. "You are so funny, and to think I've never spoken to you before." Which wasn't true. Gavin had met Beatrix in the past, he just didn't remember, like everything else. His eye darkened and his tone grew colder. "But if you think you could cut out my tongue you are terribly mistaken. I would be able to take you down without a piece of my hair falling out of place.

Threatening Gavin would only make him more amused, man people never learned. "Your threats won't work on me; you are only a third year student who probably doesn't know how to conjure a Flipendo spell without doing something wrong." Smiling, he let her continue on her rant, she probably didn't even hear him. She was too busy being loud and pulling things out of her butt.

Leave so soon? And did she really order him to leave? Gavin started to laugh; he wasn't going to listen to his sister let alone a little girl who just had a tantrum. He rolled his eyes and waited for her to continue but she was at the close of her rant. He opened his mouth to say something but once more she started to talk. Before he could pull his hands over his ears, she said sorry. And she was right; it didn't matter if she said sorry or not. It wasn't like Gavin was offended.

"You don't look like a whore, I was just joking. But you decided to go off." he shrugged. Maybe he should leave and take a nap.

Not that Beatrix was MEANING to be rude, but she had heard one thing Gavin had said. Well, besides the whole 'Third year, Flipendo spell' thing. Did he NOT hear her before when she said she was a Fourth year? Unfazed by anything Gavin had told her (Due to not listening) she furrowed her brow and wiggled in her chair. "I know you think you're so great at all, but I'd appreciate it if you at least got my year right." It was probably the main thing she wanted him to memorize through his self-absorbed skull. Beatrix didn't care if he got her name right, quite frankly, Hairlady was fine with her. Just like Killjoy... She didn't care because, well, she liked to kill all of Mr. Devlin Matthews's joy. Plus, she liked it when people recognized her because of her hair.

"Also. I'm not dumb." She added, quietly, "I'm fairly smart for my age. I'm a bloody fourteen year old... How do you expect me to act? I can't help but be happy." Bea's eyes squinted, sadly. As if Beatrix Dark was happy, she just covered everything up like how every other teenage girl did in the school. She just did it to the extreme... Making her a giggling fool. It doesn't hurt to laugh, does it? Gavin Snark's a git for making Beatrix feel bad about herself. Which he always tends to do.

And why wasn't he leaving? Beatrix told him to LEAVE. Instead he just laughed. Gosh this guy needs to learn his place. He may be Snark, but he has no right to degra- Yes he did. Snarks always were like him... And for some reason, the only Snark in Gryffindor was WAY worst that Alexander and Gavin combined. Which was definitely an exaggeration. Beatrix was about to say, again, 'Leave, fool!' but then he opened his mouth again.

"You don't look like a whore, I was just joking. But you decided to go off."

Or was he just joking about THAT? Beatrix twitched, slightly, "So, you were just being a jerk because you were joking? Or because in general, you're a big-mouthed git?" The first possibility didn't seem likely, but Beatrix wanted to know what the heck he was saying. "... Thank you, anyways." Beatrix blushed. She didn't expect him to say she didn't look like a lady of the evening. And she wasn't expecting to get any other comments like that. "It would be gross if I were a whore..." Beatrix grimaced, shaking her head. A fourteen year old (Who was so short she looked like a thirteen year old sometimes) having sex for money? DISGUSTING!
