All credit goes to Stef!Dueling Club is meant to be educational and recreational. To keep things fair and fun for everyone involved, please take a good look at our rules and policy!1. Registration. Every interested member must register with Gracie Slant or Alexandra Carstairs and determine which of the three groups they belong to: Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced. You must be 2nd year or older to join. Only 4th years and older may participate in tournaments.2. Skill Groups. Age plays a large factor in skill level, since many spells aren’t taught until a certain year, but inevitably there are some who are more advanced or have fallen behind. As such, age doesn’t necessarily denote skill level. A NEWT-level student may still be less than proficient in Conjuration, and an OWL-level student may demonstrate skill ordinarily beyond their year.Nor will a student’s personal opinion always accurately reflect their skill level. Of course, a student may determine their skill level as they see fit, but how well they actually perform is subject to the Presidents’ judgment. The President and Vice President reserve the right to move students around based on their performance –or behavior– during club sessions.3. Code of Conduct. Respect is important. Be they president, professor, or even just a beginner, all members are expected to treat everyone with at least some measure of respect during club time. Repeat infractions can/will result in rank demotion, suspension, or even outright dismissal. so don’t be a dick 4. Restricted Spells. Restricted/illegal spells are not permitted. Depending on the severity of the infraction, an offending student will be removed from the day activities, be suspended from the club, or removed altogether. Joking around or ‘accidents’ are not a valid excuse. 5. Restricted Items. Duels are spells-only. No item –protective or otherwise– will be permitted. Those caught in violation will be disqualified from the current activity.6. Injuries. If at any time during club activities you wish to remove yourself from the activity or are injured, alert a President or a supervising professor and we will take care of you and escort you to the Hospital Hut if necessary.7. Tagging Spells. To keep track of events, spells and their effects, please tag your offensive spells red, your defensive or inoffensive spells blue, and important details white.8. Spell Limit. To keep things from getting too chaotic, characters may cast up to (2) spells per round. Give your opponent room to respond! It’s more fun that way.9. Ending Duels. Roughly (5) rounds/bouts per duel. Should a duel last any longer –or persist despite serious injury– Presidents and supervising professors reserve the right to call the match. If there seems to be a trend of unrealistic dueling and super!duelists, players will be contacted, and may even be asked to edit their posts.
