[July 15] Playing Dead [Flynn]

on November 29, 2014, 09:09:29 AM

Andromeda gritted her teeth. She might get in trouble for this. She had tried to make an arrest of this wizard for smuggling. He had tried to fight her. Her curse had knocked him out. She couldn't bring him round. He had hit his head on the way down. She thought he might be pretending to avoid arrest. Luckily they were both at the hospital now. The spell damage floor would fix him up. They had fixed Andromeda up a couple of months ago.

It was pretty busy today for some reason. Andromeda wanted to prod the guy hard with her wand and make him wake up so they could go to the Ministry instead. She did not want to have to hang around at the hospital. It meant she had to fill out lots more paperwork. She had to investigate other things. This guy was related to the museum theft possibly. He was smuggling stuff, but perhaps not the apples. But he was worth interviewing.
"You can't stay asleep forever." Andromeda told the smuggler. She was looking down at his face quite closely.

Miranda Elliot taking over as head of St. Mungo's was, in Flynn's opinion, mostly a good thing. However, she pushed him-- challenged him. Flynn did significantly more work in his healer-in-charge position now than he had with his previous boss. He had plenty of paperwork to do, people to call for donations, along with managing the floor and seeing patients. Though, to be fair, he hadn't gotten to even see many patients lately, which was his favorite part about his job.

Outside of work, he was just as busy-- and as a result, Flynn was a man running on coffee fumes and pick-me-up potions.

But today, today he had the time to see patients. His first stop was in the Janus Thickey ward, but after that he was ready to see new patients.

He entered one of the examination rooms, only to see a familiar face.. And it seemed that an arrest had gone wrong.

Flynn greeted Andromeda politely, "So... What do we have here? What kind of hex did you hit him with?" He got to the point, though his smile was warm.

"A good one." Andromeda told Flynn. She crossed her arms. She looked grumpy. Flynn's warm smile was infectious. Her mouth twitched. "I was intending stupefy. But normally people wake up from it later. Looked more like reducto. I was pretty annoyed. My bad." She shrugged. Non verbal magic. When she cast spells quickly, it was automatic. She hardly thought about which spell she used. It would slow her down. "It's busy here today." She scrunched up her nose and made a face at her arrest. "Lots of people can't cast spells properly or something?"

"It is busy today." he admitted, "Busy enough for me to actually be seeing patients today!" A large group of young adults had come in, half transfigured. They had been attempting to become animagi through researching books, rather than by actually being educated by an animagus. Then there were the two neighbors who had gotten into a duel and left each other completely incapacitated...

Flynn nodded. She intended to use stupefy, but it looked like reducto... "So what you're saying is, the spell's light was blue instead of red." He pulled out his wand and waved it, sillently casting a basic dispelling charm, a common counter-spell.[1] The man began to stir a little bit, making a soft groaning noise-- but he didn't seem to be fully conscious.

"What hand movement did you use?" Flynn asked, "Do you remember?" It was just as important as pronouncing the spell correctly-- in your head or verbally.

"Umm…" Andromeda screwed her face up. Her nose changed colour for a moment. When she opened her eyes and lifted her wand she realised. It went back to normal again and she blushed. She felt silly. She waved her wand, muttering to herself as she took strides forward.
"Angustio." She said at last. She made a face. "I should not have used it." Andromeda looked at her arrest. "He hit his head I think. But I reckon he is pretending." She leaned over the man lying down. "Just needs a good hex!"
