  POTIONS  CLUB

Initially formed as a place for students could catch up on any Potions homework or assignments,[1]
Potions Club has since developed into a gathering of like-minded individuals dedicated to the craft.
Now, a student may practice their skills just because (or experiment, should they prefer), as well as
make use of the workspace and tutoring services available. The club welcomes both members and
non-members alike—provided, of course, no one is disruptive.

As of 2010, membership includes Theo Whitman, Verity Bell, Esther Morrell and Juni Zamperia.

SPECIAL  TITLE

President of Potions Club

What experience has prepared you for this honor?:
  • Armed with both an interest in the field and talent for it in spades – as well as patience for teaching (he has tutored for other subjects, but most often for Potions), extensive experience (practices and experiments in his private time, as well as an internship last summer), and an unmistakable knack for leadership – Theo proves uniquely qualified for the position. Despite his own (albeit pleasant) disdain for others and a demeanor that, on occasion, has been known to provoke others into spitting fits of rage, he nevertheless knows when to put such trivialities aside in favor of education.

Additionally, since Professor Lucrezia Di Luca’s appointment, Theo has, alongside Phillip Kinsey, functioned as a trusted and capable TA. And her standards are very, very high.

What do you think the most important aspect of this job is?
  • Patience. Fully aware of his own gifts and abilities, Theo knows there are few who are as good as he and even fewer who can keep up, and that patience is wholly necessary in dealing with them.

Tell a story from your past that has proven your mettle:
  • In January, Theo demonstrates his prowess in a private experiment as Alex Carstairs looks on.[1] In February, he aids classmate Ji-Hyun Jeun during class;[2] it is implied that he helps her regularly with the subject. In March, he tutored fourth year Casey O’Doherty.[3]

2. [Feb 11] Hell is around the corner
3. [Mar 11] Snake Oil or Snake Water?
