Getting Your GradeThis test is graded in one of two ways.
Reply to this thread and/or the theory exam thread. The first is to reply to this thread with a role played post of your student taking the test. Based on that post, I will determine their grade for the class. This is based on the 'surprise me' idea of grading.
Send Ignan Storm a PM.Your PM needs to follow these guidelines:
- Needs to have the title format of "Year / Student Name" (6th Year / Jane Doe)
- You need to state what grade you want your student to have.
- You need to explain what they have done in the class to receive that grade.
If I feel it is necessary, I may question your reasoning, especially if your requested grade is sharp contrast to your student's performance in past class threads and on the board as a whole.

The N.E.W.T
The sixth years are gathered in the antechamber. Students are admitted into the Great Hall one at a time, and are not allowed back to speak with their classmates after as they exit through the entrance hall.
Inside the Great Hall are a small group of professors assembled from visiting schools, including Professor Storm, a space cleared for spellwork, where one professor stands, wand in hand, and a white linen tent which glows from a light inside.
The first of the professors confirms your name, and as you move between each professor they explain the requirements of the element of the practical exam. The students are left unknowing of what lies beyond, as the professors mark all paperwork themselves and confer later.
Name: ______Jane Doe____
House: ______Hufflepuff___

Each element has a time limit, and must be completed as swiftly as possible.

| Demonstration of a Corporeal Patronus | | Three Spell Duel |
| The student must produce a corporeal patronus. Marks given for strength, speed and control of form. | | Three spell duel with a professor, who has been chosen specifically for their skills...! Any three appropriate spells from the repertoire of the student in retaliation to the curses thrown at them. |
| Demonstration of Three Shield Families | | Demonstration of Wards |
| These come from the Seven Shield Spells of Pure Wand Magic. Students to give one example from three of the families and explain verbally their choice and appropriate use. The more complicated (though within NEWT level usage) and better executed the more marks awarded. | | A professor will set up light (glowing orb), sound (ringing alarm clock) and smell (strong perfume) within the tent. The student must ward the tent so that the light is not visible, sound is not heard and smell is not smelt. Extra points for warding the tent with disillusionment or invisibility so that it cannot be seen. The tent and objects cannot be touched, or extinguished. |
The MINISTRY OF MAGIC will not be held responsible for student injuries, death or distress caused during the normal course of their examinations. All students are expected to obey the rules laid out by the Proctor.
