Trip Guidelines on August 08, 2014, 10:51:33 AM IC GuidelinesFor everyone involved.In general, students are expected to do/keep in mind the following:Obey the rules and orders of chaperones and ship staff. In case of conflict, the head chaperone has the final say.For your safety, a buddy system is in play. Students must travel in pairs or in groups. Wandering away from your group or buddy is strictly prohibited. Striking out on your own – or otherwise putting yourself in harm's way – goes against this rule and can lead to in-character repercussions. Multiple infractions will result in more severe punishment.Curfew is at 10 pm. Students are allowed to visit and spend time in each other's cabins, but must return to their own by curfew.Many if not most of the sites will be a mix of muggle and wizarding. Visible magic is forbidden. Students will be briefed on how to behave and are expected to wear clothing that will help them blend in. Teachers will assist students in this if need be.Students may keep their wands for emergencies, but any use of underage magic that is not in self-defense will be punished.Pets: Allowed, but must be kept hidden from muggles and under control. Students who fail to do so will be asked to send their pets home. They kindly request that you heed their instructions and let them do their jobs. No one but staff is allowed in the bridge or the crew's cabins, or anywhere near them. Don't run/Apparate anywhere on the ship. Ever. Don't throw things into the water, spells included. Don't throw things at wildlife or people, spells included. Don't bring creatures or people onto the ship. Don't vandalize the ship. At the first sign of danger, students are expected to stay calm and retreat to their cabins.Depending on the severity of the offense, even a single infraction may result in severe punishment. From the start, all cabins are the same—same size, same number of bunk beds, same kind of basic furnishings, spacious and clean. To promote optimal social experience, room size and quality increase with the number of occupants. So the more roommates a student has, the better the cabin!Chaperones, ship staff and graduates are exceptions to this rule. Keep in mind that destinations are tropical in climate. Hats with brims, sunglasses and sunblocking potions are a must. These may be provided but students should still bring their own. Toiletries. Self-explanatory. Electronics. But always remember that magic and electricity are incompatible, and that even in muggle-friendly areas the outlets available may not be compatible with your devices. Nor are service providers universal. Spending money, as there will be lots of opportunities to shop!Everyone is responsible for their own belongings. A student breaking the rules may be asked to return home. Have fun with your plots!
