But by the end of June, most of them will be returning home. What options do you have for them?Free Retirement: Any tournament characters may be retired for free, without a write-out.Transition to Local Positions: Use a career change form to find a new career and life here in Wizarding Britain.There will be no transfers to Hogwarts permitted for visiting students.Please feel free to contact the staff if you have any questions or need a boost in deciding what to do with your Tournament character.Staff ChangesWe've recently had quite a few changes to the running of Absit Omen. As you're all well aware, things can be a bit difficult to maintain with a site this large - so it's all thanks to you guys for volunteering your time that we can keep this amazing home active. We want to express a huge Thank You to Sparky for her time spent on the curating team, and give a welcome back to Mel! Sly and Hazel join us as aides - Sly has taken over the upkeep of the Avatar Registry and Hazel the Plot Development post. We also welcome Lyn and Waker (Tor) to the c-box moderation team. And a special thanks to Cody, who's taken on c-box mod duties as well as his already daunting task of Wiki Supervisor. If you have some extra time on your hands, and want to add a helping hand, here's how!Small housekeeping note: Curator Sarah has changed her main account to Persepolis Zephyr, so that will be the best place to reach her from now on. (I'll continue to check all my PMs, and the Contact the Staff form will still get to me - Sarah)Wiki-Wonderful!In the past couple of months, Cody has been hard at work updating and adding more functionality to the wiki, and we couldn't be happier! He's made making character infoboxes more user friendly, has created an amazing automatic calendar, and has fully transferred the Playby Registry to the Wiki, complete with pictures! Now, we need your help. A sticky situation has arisen with the way we classify spells, and we'd like your input on how we should move forward. Please take a look at this thread, and if you have any ideas or information to add - please do so!Remember, the Wiki is a huge place, and we need your help to keep it updated! If you need an account for the wiki, just ask a curator. End of Term PreparationsWith the timeline shift brings us the end of term, and with it a slew of wonderful plots and threads and ways to get involved! First, we bring to you the End of Term Feast where we will announce the winners of the Tetra-Wizard Tournament, The final outcome of the Fourth Task, and the prize-giving of the champions! We will also be awarding the House Cup, and saying farewell to our seventh years! During the month of July, students will be sitting their final examinations, some will be taking their NEWTs, and everyone gets to enjoy writing their characters during some of the most stressful days of their teenage lives! Every professor gives exams and grades in their own ways, but students and professors should strive to work together to make the end of term a smooth and fun transition for all. The morning following the End of Term feast, we say goodbye to the friends we've made from the visiting schools, just before the Hogwarts Express leaves for London for the last time of the year. Professors are finally able to have a moment of relaxation, and students have a bit of time to let their brains rest before starting it all again next term. Students are invited to participate in a summer trip, funded by Ira Almasy herself. Incoming fourth years and above are privileged to a two week trip around Southeast Asia.
