Full Character Name:  Dominik Skye Wiedman
    Character Birthday & Age:  June 22, 1979 -- 29 years old
City & Country of Birth:  London, England
    Pureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn?:  Pureblood
    Alma Mater:  Slytherin
Job:  Beater for the Falmouth Falcons

Wand:  Plum wood.  10 1/4 in.  Core of Ashwinder ash.  Thick and slightly flexible with a dark stain.

    Plum (Emrys)
Plum wood ... is closely related to its sister, the Blackthorn, which is known as a Faerie tree of dark omen, strong in protective magic. Sacred to Abban, God of Craft and Mountains, Plum is a fruit wood, and so bears powers of fertility but its thorns evoke powers of great reserve and protection, the setting of boundaries, and the ability to dissolve them. Abban, like the Greek Hephaestos, is a jealous spirit of creative fire, whose devotion to art transcends all other concerns. The wood itself is harder than Apple but has a similar creamy color, and the branches are tough, knotty, and thorny. Thus Plum is a consummate wand wood for the creative artist or anyone desiring to focus on magic that will enhance skill, overcome barriers, keep people or disturbance at bay, evoke toughness and persistence, patience, protection, and healing, especially of the blood. It is also well-suited for the divining of precious metals or minerals.

    Physical Description:
Dominik is 5'7'' and well-built, especially in his legs, arms, and shoulders.  He is very strong but not overwhelmingly muscled, the biproduct of a life of Quidditch.  He is fairly conscious of his self-image and although he often neglects to shave and can have a disheveled, frumpy look about him, Dominik is usually dressed well in dark robes and cloaks and has a pleasant natural aroma.  His hair, which he has a lot of, is black and unkempt; he favors facial hair but isn't fond of long beards so he keeps it short.  Most often he has a great deal of stubble as he tends to roll out of bed more often than worrying about his personal presentation.  He has fair skin from a lifetime of romping round the British Isles, but isn't overly pale as he spends time in the sun whenever he can.  His eyes are very dark with thick brows and lashes, and he is often caught with bags under his eyes from lack of sleep.  Dominik has a scar from the dark mark he used to carry and he doesn't go to great lengths to cover it up.

    Personality Description:
Dominik is mostly known for his aggressiveness on the Quidditch pitch, but for those who know him personally he is down-to-earth and mellow with only a slight temper.  He is grounded, calm, and mostly quiet, although he can get pretty roudy while out with friends.  He enjoys life to the fullest, doing only what appeals to him and dismissing everything else as garbage.  Nevertheless, Dominik never seems completely content with his lot and is often troubled and introspective.  To cover his distaste with life in general, Dom turns to humor and kicking the cheese with friends -- most of whom he prefers to keep at the superficial level.

Dominik's least-often exposed hobby of creating useless things of beauty is the key to his deepest and truest self.  He draws in charcoal, paints, and writes, and yet never shows anyone and more often than not burns the product out of dissatisfaction.  He is an enigma and getting close to him is probably the most challenging undertaking you could imagine.  Dom makes plenty of friends but refuses to open the door to let them inside of himself.  Dominik over-compensates for this in his romantic relationships by allowing himself to fall into the vortex of love.  He's hopeless in this regard and has had his heart broken several times after attempting to live with various girlfriends.

Dominik isn't shy but he is careful with his words and in his neutral space can be rather soft-spoken.  His calm demeanor shouldn't fool you, however, as a number of instances can set him off because of his pessimistic attitude -- he has been known to get in over his head and often finds himself in brawls for saying the wrong thing or stepping on the wrong robe hems.  Dominik is prone in these circumstances to dismiss people and turn his back to the situation; he has learned that this method tends to keep him out of the Ministry's holding cells for breaking the peace.

Dominik isn't all-too concerned over his public image since the Falmouth Falcons have a reputation for being violent and his performance on the pitch is just that.  He usually skips the press conferences and gets a fair amount of mallarkey from Coach Snark for this.  But somehow it helps his image that he doesn't care, seemingly about anything; his apathetic outlook, accentuated by the fact that he lurks around in shadows and the underbelly of Wizarding society -- Knockturn and all that -- only makes his fans more fond.

What most people don't realize about Dominik is that he is fiercely loyal to his family and to close friends of the family.  He would protect his sister Dazmond with his life and often concerns himself with her whereabouts so as to always be available to catch her when she falls.  He's injured a fair few angered Wizards and muggles alike who she's targetted with her schemes, and chased them away from the Ministry or London police with grandiose threats up his sleeves.  Anyone truly close to Dominik can expect never to be bothered long by folks -- for his closest are in his circle of protection and he would give his life in an instant to keep them guarded.  You can say he has a bit of a martyr complex, actually.  From the looks of it, he wants to get offed, that's how fervent he gets with it -- with fair frequency, too.

    History:
Dom was born the eldest of two children to Aliec and Beatrix Wiedman.  He was coddled and told dark, mysterious stories by his traveling father during his childhood.  His mother was always home, brewing and cooking and caring for him and the Wiedman cottage -- which is located just Southwest of London, tucked away from sight in an extensive grove and hidden from muggle eyes by means of magic.

He had a warm and loving upbringing in a rather small family, all-inclusive aside from frequent gatherings with family friends (all of whom tended to be dark of nature and pure of blood).  Friendship to the family meant a great deal of loyalty and honor; their connections to the community, to their own, were in the form of allegiances rather than idle companionships.  The Wiedmans were never rich, but they relied heavily on their status amongst the more affluent pureblood families so as to give an air of superiority and class to theirs.  They are an extensively proud people -- discerning, intelligent and honorable.  Dominik was taught that hard-work and the right connections could get him anywhere he wanted to be in life.

When Dominik was three years old, his mother gave birth to his only sibling, Dazmond.  She was a little wide-eyed creature and Dominik was fascinated from the very beginning.  The two of them grew up together and were tight as could be; he simply adored her for keeping up with him and the boys they played with -- she was a tough kid though very tiny, and she didn't mind getting dirty, tearing robes, getting hit by bludgers, or any of the other slimey and unpredictable escapades of adolescent Wizards.  Dominik has an intense loyalty to, and love for, his immediate family, but Dazmond holds a special place with him and he would protect her at all costs.  As he has often noted to himself, he holds her life to be of greater importance than his own.

Dominik led a very active childhood, flying and hitting bludgers at every chance he got.  He had somewhat of a gang of London boys he'd gallavant around town with, and Daz always tagging along though she was readily taken in.  They caused a ruckus wherever they went, and Dominik was nearly expelled from Hogwarts for underage use of magic twice.  Somehow the family connections went a long way up and he managed to get let loose everytime he got in over his head.  This was anything but healthy encouragement, as Dominik quickly learned that he could get away with anything.

When Dazmond started brewing potions at a young age, Dom was the first to encourage her and even gave her homework assignments.  His criticisms drove her to perfectionism and soon he had an up and running business of the most amateur sort.  He was 14 when he started dealing Daz's under-the-table potions for a hand up in the Hogwarts castle; he was near miraculous with his bartering and manuevering skills and could persuade young wizards and witches to do the most absurd favors in exchange for a little liquid luck on tests and the like.  Daz was more than happy to have a challenging request and just brew it, no questions asked; Dominik knew this was out of ambition to become rather than weak-bonedness.  Before all this she was brewing for their pack mainly for fun in the streets of London -- the usual harmless hoodlum shpeal.

Dominik wasn't a very good student; in fact he was the type that professors tend to have nightmares about.  But he did get by on his social standing and unheard of quidditch skills (which mostly revolved around one-hundred and one ways to knock a player from his broom with a bludger).  He racked up the most Quidditch fouls in Hogwarts that any single player had accrued in the history of the school, or at least as far back as anyone could remember.  For this he had a foot in with the Falmouth Falcons whose second beater was luckily falling behind with age.

Immediately after his sixth year, however, eager to get on with his nefarious escapades, Dominik found himself wrangled in by his father in regards to making a name for the family.  The Wiedmans were closely associated with many Purist families, including the Grissom-Dolohovs and Lestranges and had a reputation to uphold.  Dom's father Aliec had ceased fighting the draw and had begun taking a more active part in the war, fearing that in the days following Voldemort's assured victory, their allegiances wouldn't cover the fact that they never fought for their freedom.  Dominik, as the eldest heir to the Wiedman name (who was doing nothing but fooling around in school anywhichway), was suddenly expected to drop out of Hogwarts and take his place amongst the Death Eaters.

Dominik was always eager to please his father and so he never put up a fight; he was never necessarily for or against anything, though it was easy to wrap his head around the war and find a stance to defend and get angry about.  Violence was his strong suit, and he fell right into the role with ease, accepting his place and doing whatever was asked of him.

He fought in the Battle of Hogwarts and was held on trial, although rather than being sentenced he was more or less rescued by the very persuasive representative of the Falmouth Falcons who held that it was to Wizarding Society's best taste to morph this boy's monstrosity into his passion for Quidditch.  Because of his age (he was but 18) the case was put forth that he was a misguided youth who could be cleaned up with Quidditch rather than condemned to an outcast life for the rest of his days.  The proceedings were rather scandalous and drawn out but in the end Dominik was released with a long term of community service under parole and the care of the Falmouth Falcons, who were given the task of channeling his "rage and angst" into a profitable gain for British Wizarding society.

Dominik has spent the last ten years playing professional Quidditch as a Beater for the Falmouth Falcons and is notorious for his aggression.  He's beyond famous and you either hate him or you love him -- but in the end he himself couldn't care less.  Many a witch and wizard still complain that he should have been locked up, especially on the occassion that he's brought in to the Ministry for breaking the peace.  Dominik continues to live his misunderstood life in his flat in London at the Abraxan Apartments, which butt up against the backside of Knockturn and are concealed likewise; this offers him a good deal of the privacy which he couldn't live without.

What is your occupation? How do you go about it?
How did you get your current occupation?
How does your past and abilities justify your current skills?:

Dominik is a Professional Beater for the Falmouth Falcons, notorious for his aggression on the Pitch and feared by opposing teams for the innumerable injuries he's caused.  Dominik is incredibly strong and calculant on a broom and with a bat; his skill is unmatched.  He often gets slack for not attending all the press conferences he's due for, but aside from dealing with the public he's ace at his work and takes it seriously.

Dominik gained his position on this team just about 10 years ago after being brought to trial for his involvement in the second war.  Please refer to his history for more information, but in short he was taken in by the team as part of his parole.

Dominik is skilled as he is because he's been at it his whole life.  He has nothing to lose and so puts everything on the line and takes risks that others wouldn't chance.  Dom has always favored hitting bludgers to channel his inner-fire and has made it his art, or at least the only art of his which he cares to share with anyone.

    Writing Sample:
Show your character in a scene that illustrates the best and worst aspects
of their personality. Include action, dialog and thought.

Dominik was rousted from a fantastic violet dreamscape into the crude half-light of his trashed apartment with an owl pecking at his ear.  He groaned and stretched, rolling over, and smacked at the petite barn owl that was not the belly-dancing gypsy he'd fancied it to be.  The thing jumped back with a hoo and as Dominik rubbed his eyes and adjusted to reality, it came to his notice that none other than Daz's owl was sitting there -- with ruffled feathers and a fowl expression nonetheless.  He commanded his muscles in a mixture of exhaustion and defeat to prop himself up and face the owl with both annoyance and surrender; he'd never had hurt it if he knew Daz was behind the merciless awakening.

"Aah Chloe... nevermind that, eh?  Grab some rats with those claws," he grumbled, taking up the note on his pillow and tearing open the envelope.  "Plenty of food for your sort round here."  The apartment was littered with scraps of parchment and art supplies with dirty dishes scattered here there and everywhere.  The roaches and rats loved the Abraxan Flats but at least it was inconspicuous and he could have his peace -- even if he did still get bothered by owls and the various creeps who served as occupants to this place.

    The letter read:

    Dom.
    Now at this address.
    Caught with dropper near wine.
    Not good.
    Come quick?

He cursed under his breath abruptly, throwing his covers off and pulling on clothes at such a rate that he was tripping all over himself.  He tossed his long black cloak over his shoulders and took a quick look at the owl on his way out, who was huddled on the bed giving him the stink eye still.  The little bugger was right to wake him; knowing this he felt a smidgen ashamed -- his sullen lifestyle putting Dazmond in the gap.

He took another look at the address and disapparated from the hallway to the street in question straightway.  London was a place he knew better than the back of his hand.  He had nowhere better to be and nothing better to do than threaten his kid sister's smarter victims into submission.  His sweet dreamtown far from mind, he split to bring her back to the Shodding Arms unscathed.  Much less could be said for the sorry man who laid harm on his kin.

Sum up your character in one paragraph:
Dominik is an introverted and hard to decipher wizard who cares little for most things and prefers not to be bothered.  He's famous for his profession as a Beater and for the trials which kept him out of Azkaban and on the Pitch post-war after his involvement with the Death Eaters and the Battle of Hogwarts.  He comes from a purist family and has ties to the fallen warriors of ten years past, but thinks little of this besides as yet another disappointment with his life.  He has dark leanings and tends to gravitate toward the underbelly of wizarding society; as of yet the extent of his leanings toward dark magic only touch on the brawls he gets into at pubs or his fascination with knocking Quidditch players off their brooms in matches.  In the remote space of his flat he's a creative artist and hopeless romantic, yet all attempts at a normal life have so far failed and his soft side remains an unexplored secret.

    Zodiac Sun Sign: Cancer
    Link

The Cancerian character is the least clear-cut of all those associated with the signs of the zodiac. It can range from the timid, dull, shy and withdrawn to the most brilliant, and famous Cancerians are to be found through the whole range of human activity. It is a fundamentally conservative and home-loving nature, appreciating the nest like quality of a secure base to which the male can retire when he needs a respite from the stresses of life, and in which the Cancerian woman can exercise her strong maternal instincts. The latter tends to like and to have a large family. `Nest like' is an appropriate adjective for the Cancerian home, for its inhabitants tend to favor the dark, mysterious but comfortable type of house which has something of the air of a den about it, a place which belongs to the family rather than existing as a showcase to impress visitors.

That is not to say that the Cancerian is unsociable, just that for them there is a time to socialize and a time to be solitary, and this is part of the apparent contradiction in their nature. Outwardly they can appear formidable - thick-skinned, unemotional, uncompromising, obstinately tenacious, purposeful, energetic, shrewd, intuitive and wise, sometimes with a philosophical profundity of thought verging on inspiration. Their intimates, however, may see a very different character, one with a sympathetic and kindly sensitivity to other people, especially those they love. They are able to identify with the situations of others because of the keenness of their imaginations. They are often over-imaginative and prone to fantasy, sometimes trying to shape their lives to fit some romantic ideal. They are appreciative of art and literature, and especially of drama, where the spectacle and ebb and flow of action and feeling particularly excite them. They may themselves possess considerable literary, artistic or oratorical talent. Their sharp ears and talent for mimicry can sometimes give them success on the stage, though their tendency to be emotional may make them overact. Interestingly - because they give the impression of being down-to-earth - they are often fascinated by the occult and are more open to psychic influence than the average. If they can reconcile the personal conflict of their urge to be outgoing with the reserve that causes them to withdraw into themselves, then at best they can inspire a generation, especially the youthful part of it, by their idealism. A job in which they can express this, and in which they can do well, would be as a leader in a youth organization.

In their personal relationships they are mentally a mixture of toughness and softness, often emotional and romantic to the point of sentimentality in their fantasies; but in real life and in marriage, their loving is not so sentimental but tenaciously loyal. Even if they have affairs (and they may do so, for the male in particular is open to sensual stimulation), their first loyalty remains to spouse and family, of whom they regard themselves as the protector. Both the Cancerian man and woman love unreservedly, giving much and asking little in return - in fact, one of the most important lessons they have to learn is how to receive gracefully. They are too easily influenced by those they love and admire, and swayed by the emotion of the moment. They are also loyal friends, the negative side of their faithfulness being clannishness, the narrow patriotism of "my country right or wrong"; and closing ranks in suspicion and coldness toward outsiders.

Cancerians have a retentive memory, particularly for emotionally laden events which they can recall in detail for years afterwards. they are strongly governed by childhood memories and since they live intensely in the past in memory and in the future in imagination, a chance meeting with someone for whom they had an unrequited love, even if they thought they had conquered the feeling, will easily rouse the emotion all over again.

The Cancerian has many potential faults. They can be untidy, sulky, devious, moody, inclined to self-pity because of an inferiority complex, brood on insults (very often imagined), yet are easily flattered. They can be tactless and difficult yet, because they are normally ambitious, they will curry favor by floating with majority opinions, outlooks and fashions of the day. As a result they often change their opinions and loyalties and, indeed, their occupations, and lack stability. They are easily corrupted and, because they are convincing romanticizers, can make successful confidence tricksters. Their romanticism in another sense make them ardent supporters of causes, for example a football team with whose heroes they can identify in a world of fantasy.

Their abilities fit the Cancerian for a wide range of occupations. As they are interested in what people are thinking and able to judge what they can safely be told, they can be good journalists, writers or politicians, though in this last capacity they are more likely to remain in the background rather than attain prominent positions of power. They may, indeed, change their party affiliations. They can serve in other departments of public affairs, especially those which involve looking after others, for example in any kind of service from welfare and nursing to catering - their own love of comfort and good living makes the Cancerian an excellent chef or housekeeper. They sometimes have a penchant for trade or business and are often successful as a captain of industry. This is because they are excellent organizers with a good sense of value and economy which they may combine with a flair for inventiveness and originality. The romantic side of their natures make them enjoy grubbing about in places where exciting discoveries may be made (old stamp collections in attics, etc.), and if they can do this professionally as a secondhand dealer or specialist in antiques, they will be happy. More common occupations which suit some subjects of Cancer are real estate broker, gardener and sailor.

Physically they are average to below average in height, with a fleshy body and short legs in comparison with the rest of them. Their hair is usually brown, their faces round, their complexions pale, their foreheads prominent, their eyes small and blue or gray in color, their noses short, perhaps upturned, and their mouths full. They sometimes walk clumsily.

    Slytherin Cancer
    Link

Potions, potions, and more potions. Any Slytherin born under a water sign will excel at potions, and the Cancer Slytherin is no exception. The leadership ability and the lofty dreams of Cancer will also be emphasized; as will loyalty (directed for the most part to one's House). Slytherins born under the sign of Cancer will be more hard-shelled and less sentimental than other Cancers, but don't be fooled by their bossy, efficient exteriors. On the inside they are soft and needy, and they learn from a young age to hide this well. Slytherins born under water signs have another thing in common with each other: keen insight into what makes other people tick. These Slytherins are good at manipulating other people's emotions, and good as well at quickly learning the hidden stories behind the otherwise inexplicable actions of acquaintances. They never forget a cut or a kindness, so it is best to stay on their good side unless you want an obsessive, vindictive enemy.

    Japanese Bloodtype:  AB
    Link

People with blood type AB are hard to categorize. They can have characteristics on both ends of the spectrum at the same time. For instance, they are both shy and outgoing. They easily switch from one opposite to another. AB people are trustworthy and responsible, but can't handle it when too much is asked of them. They don't mind doing favors or helping out, as long as its on their own conditions. People with this blood type are interested in art and metaphysics.

AB is considered the worst blood type. In predictability-loving Japan, they're loose cannons. They also like to set their own conditions and reserve the right to drop out when things don't meet their expectations. They're known to be sensitive and considerate—at times—but it just isn't enough to balance out the flaws in this blood type. For a while, some companies tried dividing their employees into work groups based on blood type, and no one wanted to work with the AB group. Anime villains are likely to be type AB.
