Honey Badger Don't Give a Knut (but she needs friends) on July 15, 2014, 10:28:50 PM Verity is a sixth year Hufflepuff. Her hobbies include reading, brewing potions... and taking long, luxurious bubble baths. Hermione Granger is her idol (as they are both Muggleborn), and she is naturally drawn to those who are possibly outsiders, but she is initially accepting of most everyone, though she can become a little competitive and she'll be the one cheering loudest during a Quidditch match. Looking for friends/rivals/enemies, and all that jazz. And lazy. But mostly innovative! I can see a healthy academic rivalry between her and Verity, but at the same time, good friends. Gracie's pretty chill (except maybe when it comes to Dueling Club or Quidditch coughsorryFigcough), but she doesn't give three figsrats about judging people unless they're like, boring or something. • Theo Whitman, 6th year Slytherin: Elitist. Also, sociopath! But he's very good at hiding it (or at least being practical about it), so when there's work to be done he puts the disdain away (sort of) and becomes quite cooperative. Sort of. He's got something of a dichotomic rep ('charming/helpful' and 'snide/creepy'), although feelings about him tend to fall into three groups: 'thoroughly charmed', 'hatred/fear', and 'knows better'. He is eerily codependent with a Ravenclaw. (their meetcute was v cute and slightly gory) IMPORTANT THINGS? IMPORTANT THINGS! He's been president of Potions Club for some time now, he likes Ji-Hyun Jeun (a housemate of Verity and a good friend of Zel's), and Zel hates him. Idk. So maybe it could easily go either way! I think he'd still respect Verity/acknowledge her abilities regardless. • Micah Gallagher, 6th year Hufflepuff: Housemate! And currrrsed. But he's very quiet/obscure about it, although given her closeness with Zel (not because Zel would tell her about it, but because he thinks Zel a good judge of people), she might at least know he's got a nasty scar on his tongue? ANYWAY. Quiet but outdoorsy, studious but laid-back, flirty but very very easily flustered. He is also a little more self-conscious than he might come off as. I think he'd admire Verity for being so driven, but also because he thinks her brave for being confident about who she is. • Shona Donovan, COMC Professor: Werewolf AND wolf animagus! Energetic, smiley, annnnd maybe could work on boundaries BUT it's mostly just a smell thing; she's fully embraced her wolfyness, y'see, and so she is perfectly open about her once-a-month problem! (And Animagus things, once people remember her ability to turn into a wolf isn't actually related to her affliction.) Also, she maybe likes throwing her students into a leetle danger. I still have an ongoing NEWT class that's gone stag for a while, but trust me—you can still throw your girl in! If you do, skim Shona's, Gracie's, and Theo's posts for hints. Then there is Connor (ridiculous 4th year Ravenclaw), Esther (sweet/two-faced 4th year Slytherin), and Shona's sister and brother, CeeCee (famous children's author/philanthropist/barista) and Rick (surly criminal Artificer and fundraiser patsy; right now he has an open booth in the Career Fair) respectively. If you've any ideas/interest towards them, just say the word! When Kelly was telling me that you were excited about my character, she showed me Gracie and my mind immediately came up with an adorable friendship. So yeah, that should totally happen. Also, Micah sounds wonderful, and I think that she would definitely be friends with him. And possibly attempt to emulate his more laid-back demeanor, as she can be a tad neurotic. And oh my gosh, Shona might be her favorite professor (she is also training to become an Animagus), and the whole embracing who you are resonates with her. Suffice to say, I would love to RP with any/all of those characters, and will read up on the other ones you mentioned. And I will look into the NEWT class. Verity would probably be a good influence when it comes to school work but she might find Ji Hyun frustrating. But friends is more fun right? Unless you would rather otherwise. I'm Amberlee!I currently have four students at Hogwarts some may be better suited for her than others.Ayla Collins, 4th Year Hufflepuff: Housemate who absolutely adores the upper years! She's the oldest of three kids (her twin brother/sister are two years younger than her and have that whole twin thing going on so she often feels left out in the sibling department) and has been known to adopt the older Hufflepuff girls as her big sister. She's small, cute, bubbly, likes to share candy and goodies with everyone. She's a bit of a drama queen and loves to gossip. She's half blood but was raised muggle to fit in with her mother's side of the family and the local kids so she knows much more about muggle life than she does Wizarding life. She's originally from Canada and still has her accent even though she's been living in London/At Hogwarts for four years now. She's also been on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team for the past two years.Peyton Wentworth, 6th Year Ravenclaw: Peyton is a complete and utter Quidditch nut. He eats, sleeps, breathes Quidditch. He's been the Quidditch Captain for Ravenclaw for most of the year (and has been on the team itself since his second year) He's really bad at school work and has been on a probation of sorts, every time his grades dip low enough his Head of House won't let him compete in Quidditch so he tries as hard as he can to get his grades at an acceptable level. He's super friendly even if he is a bit socially inept. He was raised muggle even though he's actually a halfblood. His father was disowned by his Grandfather and his wand snapped when Peyton was 8/9 so there's rarely been magic in his house that wasn't his own or his sister's.Xavier Tawse, 6th Year Slytherin: Xavier is the epitome of Slytherin. He's suave, smooth talking but sinister. He doesn't really care about too many people and the people he does care about he tends to just end up hurting (just ask his ex girlfriends) He's a notorious bad boy though it's rare to actually catch him in the act. His Uncle is one of the Ministry's most wanted and he's had many run ins with Aurors himself (between being suspected of murdering a fellow student, being questioned about his Uncle's whereabouts and having killed a werewolf the previous summer) His family is a bit of a sore subject but by now most know not to talk to him about it. He has a long running rivalry with Peyton, (only Peyton knows the real reason why he hates him, Xavier's missing two weeks of his life that holds that secret) He's also the heir to one of the largest Wizarding fortunes.Cadance Bulstrode, 6th Year Slytherin: Cadance is a blast from the past. She is the very image of Pureblood society, right down to the archaic traditions. Almost from birth she was prepped and trained on how to be the perfect Lady, and once she was betrothed (at the age of 11 to Charles Whitman) her schooling switched focus to how to be the perfect wife. Despite having had nearly six years of classes together there's a very good chance that Cadance has never actually said a word to Verity. She's never rude or unkind but she won't give anyone the time of day if they don't deserve it and according to her upbringing Hufflepuffs and muggleborn hufflepuffs at that definitely don't deserve it. She's also Xavier's cousin and is rarely seen without him (or her brother or betrothed) Skip to next post Re: Honey Badger Don't Give a Knut (but she needs friends) Reply #10 on July 16, 2014, 02:53:33 PM So many characters, I'm going to have to read bios for everyone and see how Verity might interact with people.Amberlee, I think that Verity would adore Ayla, as she is also a bit of a glutton, and she is a huge fan of Quidditch (though she personally can't play), so she would definitely be cheering for her at all the matches. Verity also has a bit of a mother hen personality, so she would be totally fit into that big sister role. She's not exactly peppy, but she wouldn't be turned away by Ayla's bubbly personality.Peyton would be interesting, because I feel like they would be super competitive with each other, since they would root for the opposite teams. But Verity would not be opposed to a friendship with him, and probably offer to help tutor him so that his grades stay up because she wouldn't want her team to win simply because he wasn't on the Ravenclaw team. But I think that Verity would find Xavier to be rather irksome, and especially since one of her closest friends is Zel (who is a werewolf). And I feel that she would pick up on Cadance's attitude towards her House and heritage, and probably feel no desire to interact simply because of that.Amara, so yes, Verity and Bran totally need to braid each other's hair. This needs to happen. And it will be great if he tries to make her into a Plastic. And I am so crazy nervous to post in that NEWT Potions thread, haha. But I feel that Verity will respect Ezia, and due to her talent and work ethic hopefully not be disliked. And I believe that Theo and Verity are going to have an academic rivalry, though both recognize the other's talents (based on conversation so far with Sly).Amara sounds delightfully creepy, and Verity would totally be put off by her cold demeanor. Everyone needs some creepers.Phillip would probably make her laugh (and Verity and Alex look like they are going to be friends, so I imagine that they will get to know each other). And Deborah, which Hufflepuff traumatized your character? Verity has a lot of loyalty to her House, so it might strain the relationship a bit, but who knows. Nearly drove her to tears. It happened in Divination class, actually, so if I were correct, she's going to steer clear of a Badger's bad side. She wasn't expecting that, and awfully believes she had no fault in the matter (the others think so too, so far). Skip to next post Re: Honey Badger Don't Give a Knut (but she needs friends) Reply #12 on July 23, 2014, 05:39:08 AM Heeee, it's not necessarily that he'll try to turn her into a plastic, but Bran believes that good taste, beauty and the occasional flirty shenanigan should most definitely go with brains, a strong personality and ambition XD. If you'd like to get them to interact I could probably start a thread? Nudge me with a PM if you decide on something As for Potions, I am anxiously expecting Verity in that class :> I'm trying to wrap it up, but I've not had much luck having it reach a conclusion yet. So I can start on finals .-., finals will be awesome.Either way, my memory is a failing fail, so if you'd like any interaction shoot a PM Skip to next post Re: Honey Badger Don't Give a Knut (but she needs friends) Reply #13 on July 23, 2014, 07:30:09 AM Josh might well be friends with her- though if she's competitive, thye coud ahve a rivalry in Quidditch or academia. Re: Honey Badger Don't Give a Knut (but she needs friends) Reply #10 on July 16, 2014, 02:53:33 PM So many characters, I'm going to have to read bios for everyone and see how Verity might interact with people.Amberlee, I think that Verity would adore Ayla, as she is also a bit of a glutton, and she is a huge fan of Quidditch (though she personally can't play), so she would definitely be cheering for her at all the matches. Skip to next post
Re: Honey Badger Don't Give a Knut (but she needs friends) Reply #11 on July 17, 2014, 09:43:57 AM -returns-It's Hans dear. ^^Ah, it's none other than a sensitive fourth year whom Flo hadn't even touched. Nearly drove her to tears. It happened in Divination class, actually, so if I were correct, she's going to steer clear of a Badger's bad side. She wasn't expecting that, and awfully believes she had no fault in the matter (the others think so too, so far). Skip to next post
Re: Honey Badger Don't Give a Knut (but she needs friends) Reply #12 on July 23, 2014, 05:39:08 AM Heeee, it's not necessarily that he'll try to turn her into a plastic, but Bran believes that good taste, beauty and the occasional flirty shenanigan should most definitely go with brains, a strong personality and ambition XD. If you'd like to get them to interact I could probably start a thread? Nudge me with a PM if you decide on something As for Potions, I am anxiously expecting Verity in that class :> I'm trying to wrap it up, but I've not had much luck having it reach a conclusion yet. So I can start on finals .-., finals will be awesome.Either way, my memory is a failing fail, so if you'd like any interaction shoot a PM Skip to next post
