New Healer at St. Mungo's

on July 15, 2014, 01:31:05 AM

Hello, everyone! I'm Kali.

Cassidy MacQueen
Healer at St. Mungo's, Magical Bugs & Diseases || 29 years-old

Cass is a bookworm with a thirst for knowledge, who takes his job very seriously. He is a Half-Blood, born in Ireland, and attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (Ravenclaw House). Cass can be quite charming when need be, but upon first impression, he can appear polite to the point of being cold. He gets along with most, however, and enjoys talking to people as long as they don't bother him while he's working.

I'm hoping to toss him into a few threads, as you all seem like such lovely people, and all of the characters are so interesting! Cass spends most of his time at the hospital or at his apartment, though I imagine he goes to pubs with friends a bit often. His best friend is Flynn Hughes, but I'd like for him to have other friends, as well! Possibly other friends in his age group that he attended Hogwarts with? Currently, he has no one, so he can use all of the friendships/relationships/enemyships(?) that he can get.

He could easily have interactions with other healers at St. Mungo's, or patients that he's treating. I'm really open to anything, so long as it makes sense for him!

Heya! Welcome to AO :)

I've got Elixa who would be his colleague, as she's working in the hospital's apothecary and has done since January 2010. I'll have to read Cassidy's biography in more detail later today to understand more of how they'd get on, but either way, Elixa would try to be as professional and helpful as she could, despite any mistakes. She's 34, a bit older.

Does Cassidy live at Dorothea's, or somewhere else? Because if he did, he might be neighbours with another one of my bunch, Theta - though she's a cousin of Flynn's either way, but about a decade younger than Cassidy.

Sorry to be brief - look forward to writing with you soon though!

Kit

Yo K-dazzle!

Obviously, I would love, love, love to do some sort of Cass and Flynn thread. Perhaps an issue with bugs in his flat. We'll figure it out.

The only other character  of mine I see who may know Cass is my Hogwarts Counselor, Mai. But, she was in a different house/year than him so it's unlikely they'd know each other well-- maybe recognize each other's face.

I could always give a character dragonpox so we can see how Cass is at work!

Oooh! Welcome welcome!

I have Miranda Elliot here who is the Head Healer at St Mungo's. It would be great to do something together if you're interested? At present she is taking advantage of Flynn's enthusiasm and gullibility.

Hi! Welcome to AO :)

I'm Jessica and I play a bunch of characters but the most likely to interact with Cassidy would be Jordyn.  She's a 6th year slytherin who got a magical bug in the middle of the year (my spelling may be off right now but I believe it was scorfungulous - something of that sort that impacts the throat), which would have made her one of his patients.

Additionally, her aspiration is to be a healer so she is trying for an internship at the hospital for the summer. I would love to do some plotting with you - teaching, ignoring, ordering around... Whatever suits!

Let me know :)

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone!

Elixa: I'm sure that they've seen each other in the hospital many times, especially anytime Cass needed something for his patients. He's almost always very professional at work, and he can come across as distant when first meeting people; if she's worked in the hospital since January, though, they've probably had several conversations and I'm sure Cass would act pretty friendly toward her now. Also, I was planning on putting Cass at Dorothea's, I just need to register him there. So he and Theta could probably bump into each other at some point, and since Cass and Flynn have been friends for a long time (they were in the same house and year at Hogwarts together), I'm sure Theta and Cass would know each other from earlier in life. :)

Flynn: BrOTP<3 I'd love to do anything with these two, because I feel like they've got a lot of potential for random shenanigans. Although, Flynn having bugs in his flat would be hilarious, because instead of getting rid of them, Cass would probably just collect them. Weirdo. Also, since they work together (but on different floors), I'm sure their paths cross at St. Mungo's, as well. Maybe they lunch together? Anywho, I don't think we'll have any problems tossing these two into some sort of thread.

Miranda: Hahaha, oh poor Flynn getting stuck with all of the work. Yes, I'd love to thread Miranda and Cass! Honestly, he may be just a little intimidated by her since she is his boss, but he's always very professional and he truly does know what he's doing. He's not one to try to impress his boss, though, so I don't know what Miranda will think of him.

Jordyn: Ooohh, all of that sounds wonderful! It'd be awesome for Cass to have a patient, especially one that wants to go into the medical field, so they'd have a lot to talk about. I'm sure she'll probably bounce between a few of the floors while interning, but while she's in Magical Bugs and Diseases, Cass would adore teaching her everything he can. He loves it when people are eager to learn.

Hallo, lemme say again: welcome to AO! First of all, I'll soon send your way a PM about Dorothea's, which I should've included in the last PM... I'm very sorry .-.

But, now. If Cass does live in Dorothea's, I have two characters and three NPCs living there. First there's Lala, the resident illustrator, cat lady, tumblrer, dubstep listener, pop culture aficionado and generally crazy person. She instigates block parties at least once a month.

Then there's Sander (or Lysander) who is a Grumpy McGee that expresses himself through one word sentences, growls and grunts and his eyebrows. But really, he's a big cuddly puppy inside. He bakes pastries and exquisite desserts for Alohomocha, despite hating anything sweet.

Additionally I have an assortment of other adult characters from a nightmare potions Mistress at Hogwarts and a French socialite/club owner/socialite, an assassin/security consultant and the Head of the Beings Division in DRCMC. However, on her way is also a Mungo's mediwitch :).

Again, welcome to AO and hope you have a lovely lengthy stay! /poofs into the sun

Welcome <3

Kale could be a friend/enemy/frenemy... he is normally laid back and pretty irresponsible, though he does take his job seriously (it just doesn't show).

I'm trying to get back into things, slowly but surely, so feel free to keep me on a back burner so I don't slow you down :3, we can figure things out later if you are interested

Lala: Since Cass will be living at Dorothea's, these two would most likely know each other, and Cass will definitely be going to these block parties. :) From the sound of things, he and Lala are pretty opposite in their personalities, so it'll be kind of funny to see them interact. Maybe she can introduce him to dubstep?

Sander: Cass can come across as rather grumpy, as well, so these two may actually get along quite well. Other than running into each other in the halls/at block parties at Dorothea's, Cass probably will frequent Alohomocha pretty often. He's quite the coffee drinker.

Kale: Aw yay, co-workers! Cass is crazy professional and serious at work, so if he sees Kale acting all laid-back, he might try to give him advice without realizing that Kale actually does take his job seriously, haha. (Cass can't help it; he just likes efficiency.) I'd love to do a thread with these two, whenever you're up for it!

Heya, it's Kit :)

You're most warmly invited to join this thread which has fellow healers in.

Great, I'm good to assume they are friendly, and Elixa is quite accommodating and knows not to get in the way of healers and to assist. She's attentive.

Amara's the person to poke for Dorothea's *points up at earlier reply from Amara* and yes that would be great to know him. If he's already living there by May 1st, I've an open thread.

Ah, thank you so much! I would love to jump into one (or both) of those threads! :D

/poofs back in. And now I have a Mungo's character! Sera's been at the hospital for some 15 years so I imagine she knows.. well, everybody. I'm sure she and Cass could get along, given they have similar(ish) personalities and very strong work ethics :)
