Landon Alcide Thibodeaux: Security Consultant, Assassin on June 27, 2014, 11:23:29 AM Landon ThibodeauxFull Character Name: Landon Alcide ThibodeauxCharacter Birthday & Age: 18.09.1978, 32 years oldCity & Country of Birth: Lacombe, LA (USA)Blood Purity: HalfbloodAlma Mater: Red Rocks AcademyJob/Position: Security ConsultantWand: 13", Blackthorn, Dragon Heartstring; pliable with a spiraled shaft, with tally marks cut into the hilt for every job he's ever done. There are many.Physical Description: At six feet tall, Landon isn't particularly tall. And although quite fit and athletic, his youthful appearance gives the impression of someone leaner. With fair hair and blue eyes, Landon still carries the South with him wherever he goes, forever donning a tan.His face, although masculine with a strong jawline and a constant five o'clock shadow, has something of an easy-going, yet mischievous nature. Some might even call his features... elvish. Or impish. Yet, his smile is a killer and he knows it. It's not just his job that keeps him in shape, but also a passion for it. He believes working out calms the spirit. Or something. Nevertheless, his idea or relaxation comes in the form of pushing his body to its boundaries.Landon is a red-blooded Southern American, and if his accent doesn't say it, his clothes sure do. He's used to heat and humidity, and wherever he may go, despite the actual temperatures his clothes say it all. Old comfortable jeans, tank tops, flannel shirts and henleys make up about 90% of his wardrobe. However, in his line of work, both comfort and protection are matters of the utmost importance. A leather jacket, gloves of the same material and dragonhide boots are three of his oldest companions. In his cover job, however, he is sometimes required to wear something more in line with the clients he is supposed to protect. For such occasions he will grudgingly don a a simple black suit, or robe, depending on the event and circumstances. His accent isn't as heavy as it ought to be, having been traveling the world for almost ten years now, but it is still quite obvious. He's quite forward and his choice of words sure shows it, but also sarcastic and with a tendency to never take anything seriously.Personality Description: Landon would call himself uncomplicated and a man of few needs. In a way that's true. But there's the issue of Landon in his professional role and Landon in his personal role. The two have absolutely nothing in common. While a complete flirt, easy-going and just a tiny bit dangerous in his day to day interactions, when on duty, Landon is a quiet calculated and cold-blooded murderer. The sort to always have a beer in hand and a pick-up line on his tongue, Landon will either make you giggle or slap him. It's usually a 50/50 chance. Or even both at the same time, like that one time in Cabo. He does not talk about that night.Landon was never a top-student. Hell no. But it's not that he's the village idiot either, he just has a different sort of intelligence. Call it street smarts if you will, but it's a little bit more than that too. While he's not the sort to play games of cats and mice with his targets and doesn't actually get off on the killing, the strategies he'll employ to carry out his jobs, involve more than just that. And that's the thing with Landon, he's not a murderer for the thrill of it or for the power games. It's just a job, simply something he's good at. And if you catch him in a moment of blunt honesty and self-deprecating inertia, he might even admit that it's the only thing he's good at. When the gloves come on, it's time to get down to business. And business he does with absolutely no remorse. He's a very sociable person, but he's not the sort to get too close. It's not even about having commitment issues, but with the sort of activities he deals in, the odd hours, the travelling, the lack of explanations... it neither leaves him with the opportunity to actually create a relation, nor the desire to bring someone he might care about into all the chaos.History: For more information about the Thibodeauxs click hereThe Thibodeaux family is one of old French creole descendance. Some centuries ago they were some of the richest and most powerful plantation owners in the area, but those days have long past and the times have changed. The wizarding side of the family had more to do with Louisiana Voodoo than your run of the mill magic for many years, but those practices have also mostly been lost throughout time.Landon was born into a big and diverse family. Being the third eldest of nine children, both born and adopted, meant that he was put through sibling hell in his childhoodl. Little cousins, uncles, grandaunts - on a normal day the Thibodeaux's grand mansion held at least 20 people. During the holidays, their number was more in line with a small village than a single family. It was loud and chaotic and privacy was not a concept familiar to anybody, but with a loving, yet no-nonsense mother and kind, supportive and easy-going father, and despite the inter-sibling rivalry and age-differences, it was a warm and comforting environment to grow up in.The issue, however, was that most of his younger siblings were girls. Landon's had enough trauma growing up having to take care of his younger sisters with his elder brothers to last him a lifetime. From teenage drama to unnecessary details of the female anatomy and running around town with a shotgun every other week to protect their honor... The Big Easy may have been right across the Pontchartrain, but there had been nothing easy about his life at home. He was a good older brother, and a good son, but sometimes he just needed to get away from it all. And if he happened to get into some sort of trouble almost every time... well. He made sure word of it never got back to his folks. But when away at school that sort of changed. He had no interest whatsoever in any academic pursuits. He was a simple guy, and books had never made sense to him anyway. But spells? There was nothing like the thrill of being able to render one helpless with just a flick of a wand.It wasn't to say that Landon was a problem-student, it was just that he tended to keep problematic company. If school was no interest, he was left having to find his own sort of amusement. It was usually the sort to disregard any sort of rules. So it didn't come as a surprise when just half a year away from graduation, his parents came into possession of a letter of expulsion. It didn't bode well for Landon, but it wasn't the end of the world either. His mother had never finished her education either, albeit for entirely different reasons and by choice. So for a few years he stuck around helping with his younger siblings and worked with his father at the shop. If nothing else, Landon was quite good with his hands and something of a genius mechanic. His love of speed and power-muscle cars also helped. He still kept decidedly bad company, and realizing the financial hardships a family of nine meant only pushed him further into suspicious circles, looking for odd jobs. It was upon meeting Rufus, a decidedly dangerous character that kept away from the eye of the authorities for good reason that things started to change for Landon. It started casual enough, be on lookout for anything threatening an operation, provide some muscle here, scare some skinny little guy there, infiltrate some group of idiot behind on payments… But it wasn’t long before his efficiency was noted by the higher-ups, whomever they were. And it wasn’t long before he realized his moral compass was not broken, but utterly non-existent. At eighteen he accidentally took his first life. He didn’t feel anything, merely frustration at having gone too far and lost the only source of information they had on that corrupt ministry worker. But he next time he’d get a assignment, he would be intentionally chasing a small-time con-man from their own circles with the intent of shutting him up forever. He was good at it, he decided. And the higher-ups thought the same, apparently, as the assignments kept growing in number and difficulty. The hits started spreading out across the globe and eventually he parted ways amicably with his employers and started offering his services to the highest bidder. He’s wanted on at least two continents and has been a suspect in many cases, but his skills, strategies and contacts make it relatively easy to keep off the radar. He never stays in one place for more than half a year, depending on how high-profile his target is and how much surveillance is needed in order to secure that one perfect moment, but his easy-going personality off the clock has acquired him acquaintances and maybe even friends all across the world. When he realized that this is the only thing he could do, a cover job became imperative. He thought he might as well offer the same services except with less finite results in private security. He started small, with small-time businesses and business men, but just as dedicated to his cover, as to his actual profession he climbed the ladder to politicians, rich snobby wives and the occasional diplomatic convoy. He has a small but trusted and highly competent team which assists him with both legal jobs and less legal ones. His last contract in Australia hadn't gone as well as it could’ve, although the mark had been eliminated, so he’s currently taking a small break. And where better than in the UK where the last time he’d been there - almost two years ago- he’d had quite the good time?Career:Describe your job duties and how you go about them:In his cover job in private security Landon and his team offer a protection detail and consultation to anyone who can afford it and is deemed low enough of a threat to their actual job. Politicians, businessmen, high-profile celebrities, rich housewives and even the odd academician on dangerous exploratory research, as long as they have the coin and can follow simple, yet critical instruction if their lives are in danger, Landon will take the assignment. At this point in his career, Landon no longer seeks work, but work seeks him. He works on a contract system, never taking on too long an assignment and usually accepting targets that need quite a bit of protection. His team covers intelligence, as well as security and transportation. He’s not a personal bodyguard, and Merlin forbid you ever call him one to his face. He prefers Security Consultant.Elaborate on your expertise in your field:There’s not much to private security one would think… Except a quick wand hand-eye coordination, the ability to think like a predator, an impressive amount of contacts and excellent physical shape. With quite impressive dueling skills, but even more impressive fighting skills, as well as a mind for anticipating moves and devising simple yet efficient strategies, Landon has made a bit of a name for himself. Albeit not quite as popular as his other occupation.Landon doesn't want to brag (lies), but his other job and his dedication to a job-well done, generally make him a choice at the top of list of one in need of a bit of assurance and brawl.Summary: Attractive, with impressive muscle structure to go, Landon has plenty to be be confident about - which he is. A flirt and a charmer, his smile is used to devastating effect on those weak of will, turning them weak at the knees. But despite his cheerful personality and openness, Landon has several skeletons in his closet, mostly in the form of the people he’s killed. An assassin by trade, he uses his superb dueling skills and remarkable reflexes in his day job as a security consultant.
