[May 7] Then you're doing something right (Jordyn)

It was the crack of dawn and for reasons that were rather obvious, if his rumpled yet absolutely... satisfied appearance was anything to go by, Bran was just now returning to his own bed with the intent to sleep for an hour or so. He'd gotten some shut eye, but it hadn't been intentional, of course. Merlin forbid Bran ever stayed the night. And yet, not enough for him to truly consider it a beauty sleep. Which his flawless skin needed in order to remain, well—flawless. It was upon visiting the bathroom to get over his beauty ritual that Bran realized he wasn't the only one awake at nearly half past five in the morning on a Friday.

"Did you hear?" some fifth year pleb asked another of his standing, although Bran had to admit the one that just raised his shoulders in response had a rather cute... behind. Bran threw him a wink and a small giggle as he passed him. "How have you not?! It's that Dimbleby chick. The one that used to be prefect—you know!" continued the first pleb, accent on used to be. Chick?!, that was just disgusting.  It was at that point that Bran froze, eyes narrowing as he slowly, so very slowly turned to face the two who were completely oblivious to the pure rage that was starting to seethe from Bran. The ass carried on, something about the fifth year prefect telling him.

Cute-Butt arched his eyebrows expectantly as Foul-Mouthed Pleb kept on with his prattle. "She got caught after curfew last night. She! A former prefect! Little Miss Perfect, not so perfect anymore, ey mate? Oh and get this... she was with that Patil bloke from Puff" the knob continued as Bran's fist, curled around a tube of cream managed to somehow squeeze the entire contents of it on the floor. What. How did he not know about this when the rest of the school apparently did? But never mind that right now.

Bran' wasn't a violent person—well, he could be violent... in bed, if that was something the other guy was into. But that was not point! Bran was not the sort of person to just go about throwing punches to every other idiot that insulted him or his friends (like some other Blackwells), but he could be wicked with a wand.

"Listen here, you little shit" he said with a terrifying calm, in less than a beat having the tip of his wand jammed in the guy carotid. "If you open that ridiculous gob of yours one more time to even utter Jordyn's name, I will make a bloody key chain out of your family jewels. Is that understood? You puny chauvinistic pig..." he spat, this time his voice lowering something menacing. "Not you, you're cute" he continued, a 360 degree turn in tone and attitude as he addressed the other guy. The pig nodded fervently as Cute-Butt merely looked confused. Confused was good, he could work with that. "And if you dare say a word about this to anyone else, I will find you and I will turn you into an alto" he narrowed his eyes, eyebrows furrowing at the middle. "We need one in the choir anyway" he shrugged with a sweet angelic smile. "Now, scram" he made an ushering gesture and took a deep breath.

In less than a minute, Bran was standing in the middle of the common room, eyes set on the girl's dormitory entrance. Bloody restriction charms. He was boiling with anger and in a moment of complete exasperation he pointed his wand at his own throat, muttering Sonorus. "JORDYN SAGE DIMBEBLY! GET YOUR ASS OUT OF BED IMMEDIATELY AND EXPLAIN YOURSELF!" he yelled ending on a loud hmph. "The rest of you go back to sleep. Sweet dreams!" he continued on a jolly tone. His voice returned to normal, he took a seat in an armchair, crossed his legs and waited . His entire body language screamed Danger! do not approach!

Jordyn had gotten in late the previous evening.  Then, on top of that, she’d spent part of the night crying to Neely about having gotten caught because what else would she do?  She’d never been in trouble before and it felt terrible.  She didn’t know how some students could face that constantly.  It certainly took an entirely different person.

But, at the very least, she felt comforted in the fact that no one (except Neely, of course) said anything to her the next morning.  Perhaps no one knew.  That would be lucky for her.  Her luck, these days, was running dreadfully short and even though they had been introduced to the concept of the Felix Felicis potion in class, she hadn’t brewed any.  She might have needed it though.

Rolling over in her bed, the former prefect covered her tied back hair with a pillow and whined as she could see the lightening sky coming through the window.  This was why she didn’t do things at night – she liked to get a solid (at least) six hours of sleep and she felt like she was running on empty.  The crying hadn’t helped.  It always seemed like that made you twice as exhausted.

She rolled again , hoping if she put her back to the window maybe she could continue to sleep.  She took a deep breath and started to count – glad when she was nodding off again.  Apparently she was that tired because Jordyn began to lightly snore before she felt something hit the back of her head.  ”Wake up!” another sixth year… sounded like a Northern accent… yelled at her.  ”You’re being summoned downstairs!” another soft object, perhaps a pillow was lobbed at her and Jodyn sat up, blinking confusedly.

“I’m up, I’m up,” she muttered, rubbing her eyes and yawning.  Everyone else still appeared to be sleeping, except, of course the pinchy faced girl who had chucked pillows at her, but even she flopped back down into the comforter and appeared to want to continue to sleep.  The disheveled Dimbleby climbed out of bed, sticking on her slippers and reached up, fixing her ponytail.

She did not want to be out of bed, but if whoever was calling her screamed upstairs again, she was sure her dormmates (and probably all of the rest of the Slytherin female population) would want to hang her by her feet from the tallest tower.  Shuffling out of the room and down the stairs, Jordyn yawned again and walked into the common room, blinking as she looked around for who had wanted her to come down.

Of course, sitting on a chair, looking absolutely nasty was Bran.  Jordyn pursed her lips, still drowsy and covered her mouth for a final yawn.  “Good morning,” she greeted, “what’s going on?”

"Good morning? Good morning?! Don't you good morning, Dimbleby!" he said leaning forward and throwing her a positively scathing look. "I have to hear that you got caught breaking curfew from some nasty ass fifthie? And—and! To top it off, with Jai too?!" he raised his arms away from his body, completely affronted. "Girl, you are in so much shit, you don't even know" he said waving one finger at her, his other arm perched on his hip and chin tilted to the side. He frowned, realizing just how completely and utterly... ghetto he has sounded. He vowed to just never watch MTV again while lazying on Sander and Les' couch. It was contagious, apparently.

"I mean... don't get me wrong, love. If the neighbors know your name, then you're doing something right " he continued with a sly smile and and even sleazier wink. "And brava, girl, you finally let your hair down" he said with a slow clap then narrowed his eyes. "Not literally, obviously. I'm going to pretend I never saw that ponytail, mkay?" he arched both eyebrows, seriously questioning his best friend's styling choices. Regardless of the hour of the day.

He sighed deeply and leaned forward, leaning his hand in his hand. "How could you get caught? And how could you not tell me?" he scrunched through his teeth. "I had to hear it in the boys bathroom from some cretin that called you a—a chick" he said, obvious distaste in his tone. "The English language is dying" he added, unrelated at all with anything at hand, and gave another dramatic sigh. "And went on in his narrow mindedness to note that you're not Little Miss Perfect anymore, which for the name of Morgana, who would even want to be that, anyway?" he finished, throwing her a knowing little glare.

"You can't get caught, Jordyn. The next time you wanna snog your little boyfriend after curfew, just come ask me for a good place. I have a scheduler" he said as seriously as he could possibly muster, giving the complete ridiculousness of what he had just said. Yes, he had an organizer for good times and places to get his much needed physical release. "Hon, I'm not even kidding, and don't you dare even sketch a smile. It is a serious problem. The pursuit of l'amour is rather grave matter" he threw his curls behind with a dramatic hand gesture.

"Never get caught again, you hear?" he said with no trace of flamboyance. "It's one thing to have a reputation among the simple minded, hormone addled masses of students, and it's a completely different one to have a professor thinking you're a flirt. You should know better than anybody, how reputation works at Hogwarts, hon..." he gave hr a sad smile, still, himself, just as pissed about the entire debacle with her Prefect status.

"Anyway" he waved his hand casually. "So? Did you finally get over your ludicrous conceptions on sex? I want details, Jordyn. All the details" he said almost hungrily. "I deserve it, you traitor. Hmph, hearing it from fifth years" he quickly continued defensively and obviously a little insulted.

Jordyn was suitably shocked by the way she was greeted.  Bran was mad at her?  What was that about?  She didn’t think she’d done anything warranting anyone being agitated at her, except perhaps herself and that was bad enough.  It didn’t take more than a couple seconds before she knew just why she was getting a tongue lashing from her far more sneaky than she could ever hope to be friend.

The color instantly drained from her face and Jordyn felt a surge of new embarrassment.  Fifth years?! How…? It’d been less than six hours!  She’d gotten into the dorm after midnight… clapping her hands over her mouth she had to restrain herself, which turned into a strangled whine, like a dying pigeon.   She ws so embarrassed she didn’t even care that her hair was pulled back and Bran mentioned it!

This was a big deal.

Oh people were already talking, she could practically see her well-crafted and maintained persona slipping straight through her fingers.  “I didn’t intend on getting caught the first time!” she gave a helpless, useless excuse in the face of the dilemma.  She hadn’t even known what time it was until it was much too late – or they never would have been late in the first place.  “It was a complete accident,” she assured Bran (and herself).  She didn’t want to be the girl with a reputation

Bran was right: a professor could now just dismiss her as silly and the type that was going to go nowhere in life, just here because she had to be in order to get whatever mid-level ministry job she’d slave at for the rest of her life.  What a bleak prospect.  It made her heart thump in her chest and she shook her head.

“It wasn’t even like that, Bran!” the color she had lost from horror returned in full force with embarrassment.  Really.  Bran had one thing on his mind constantly,  “It really wasn’t,” she lowered her voice and bit the inside of her lip.  “We were in the garden talking,” she emphasized, wherever his mind was going to go.  “We haven’t…” she shifted her eyes, making her voice barely audible, “you know, since that time…”

Bran's face was stone. He waited impassively for her to get out all that nonsense she was spouting and then simply stared... unfazed... for what felt like an eternity. He blinked once and opened his mouth to say something but only air came out. he crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back in the armchair. He scowled minutely and rolled his eyes. "I take back everything about letting your hair down and the applause and all that. Everything."

The disappointment on his face was obvious even to the most unobservant of creatures. He sighed again, rubbing his temple. "It's been ageeeees" he whined petulantly, not being able to possibly comprehend how she was still functioning properly. "Don't you have needs? How are you even coherent?" he lifted his hand palm up to point at her, as if her entire existence at this point was a miracle. "Talking" he huffed, shaking his head and lifting his eyebrows in wonder.

He realized he was being dramatic, of course, but you couldn't spell drama without Bran. Well actually, they were continents apart, but—nevermind! Sex worked differently for boys at this age, he supposed. All those nasty hormones and all that, but still... Jordyn had always had a very unhealthy outlook on anything related to the act. "Sex isn't the devil, Jordyn" he finally said, more serious, but the exhaustion finally starting to seep into his tone. "It's a natural physiological process, and it's more than just deriving pleasure from it or scratching an itch" he rolled his eyes at actually using that metaphor.

"It's about you, first and foremost. I'm not even joking as cheesy as it sounds, but sex really does open new horizons to you, especially about who you are and how you understand yourself and relate yourself to others." He narrowed his eyes for a moment, God he felt like some sex columnist for teen girls magazines. "It's... empowering" he shrugged casually tilting his head to give Jordyn a small smile. "And I hear it can be quite a beautiful thing if actual feelings—powerful feelings, even" he sketched a smirk and gave his friend a meaningful, accusatory look "are involved." He wondered, sometimes, how that sort of sex would actually be. He doubted he'd ever find out.

"I've always respected you for having your shit together and being a—wait, for it— strong independent and intelligent woman" he snorted a little at the cliche. "You're always the voice of reason and maturity, but you need to let go of these little... quirks" he pursed his lips and gave a little shrug. "Sometimes I get the feeling that, for whatever reason, you don't want to allow yourself to be happy" he said after a quiet moment, a little softer than before and as if he hadn't really meant to say it out loud.

He quickly pulled out of it and plastered a devilish grin on his face. "Perhaps we should get you something to help with your nerves. I hear that imbecile, Kinsey, still deals in the alcohol business. Hmmm? What do you say?" he batted his eyelashes, anything but innocently.

Talking to Bran, sometimes, was worse than reading a magazine.  He had all sorts of things to say about relationships and the physical parts, which she knew he was familiar with, but he was a different person than her and she didn’t know that she wanted to exactly take that leap.  She didn’t want to take it yet, anyway.  The first time it hadn’t necessarily been a mistake… but she was young and they had been under the influence, and things just happened.

It was lucky that she liked Jai and that he had been as nice to her as he was.  She knew there were probably other girls who were not so lucky, or wouldn’t be if they found themselves in the same situation.

So, Bran talking in clichés and such… it was probably suitable for him, but Jordyn found it embarrassing and she could have sank into the floor.  She wasn’t even properly dressed or with her teeth brushed yet and they were having this conversation.  “Bran!” she hissed, her eyes bulging out as she tried to shush him merely with her look.  “You should lower your voice,” she informed him, not even addressing half of what he was saying.

She couldn’t even answer most of it.  She supposed she just didn’t feel the same way.  She liked being around Jai, she liked kissing him and talking to him, she didn’t feel pressured to make big moves.  “You’re going to wake up the entire house and the first years don’t need the talk from you,” she tried to be light about it, quirk a smile even though she was deeply embarrassed and feeling awkward.

She dug her toe into the ground, turning her ankle as she picked at one of her cuticles.  She’d need Neely to even that out later.  Some manicures, she decided, were due.

“I don’t need alcohol to get rid of my quirks,” Jordyn informed him, a little more confident in that, at the very least.  “I don’t need… what you’re talking about to feel good or happy,” she added, “and Jai is okay with that.  We talked about it.”  Sort of.  Jordyn had told him she wanted to take things slow, and he’d said okay.  That was all the conversation they really needed to have, wasn’t it?

“Just because you can’t control yourself,” she picked up a pillow from the chair she was standing near and lightly, lovingly tossed it at his chest, “doesn’t mean all boys are like that.”  She grinned now and rolled her eyes.  “Besides, you only want to see me get drunk again – and that is not happening.”

Bran gave her an amused impish look, "Sure they do, parents are atrocious at giving the talk. Mine involved a lot of metaphors about burrows and bees and the like, before dad realized half of that conversation didn't actually apply to me and it just went from awkward to complete mortification. On dad's part tho, I was trying very hard not to laugh like a lunatic" he batted his eyelashes again and wiggled his eyebrows.

Bran raised a very skeptical eyebrow at Jordyn's words. Talked about it. Yet he kept on smiling, a cryptic smile that  neither said he didn't believe her or that he did. Jordyn obviously didn't know much about the male body in its teenage stages. He caught the pillow and threw it back at her rolling his eyes fondly. Child. Everyone around him was a child. "I can control myself just fine, thank you very much. I simply see absolutely no reason to deny myself a simple physical need.

"And I'd very much like to see how you'd react at inopportune hard-ons, because Jordyn, hon, all boys are actually like that. It's simple anatomy. Not to mention the surprise you're in for when you're going to sleep together—and I do mean sleep—and wake up to Jai and his wondrous morning glory. Because it's inevitable. Literally" he gave her a menacing look and smiled sheepishly.

"And there's only so much blue balls a guy can take before he eventually goes bonkers. But kudos to him for respecting your wishes. As strange as they are" he shook his head again and sighed resignedly. "Oh hon, you need to work on your alcohol resistance, precisely so that... incidents do not happen. Are you going to be the spoilsport at my soirees that refuses to drink the copious amounts of champagne I'll be serving?" he pouted and made a soft noise at the back of his throat.

"We just need to control the environment" he declared with a shrug. "And not let you anywhere near Patil. Obviously." He smirked and actually cackled. "It's been long enough, Jordyn. When am I actually meeting the guy? And by meet I mean thoroughly interview." His smile said courteous and welcoming, yet his eyes said serious business and possible maiming in case of failure.

Alright, at least now Jordyn had something to giggle at.  She could just imagine a younger Bran sitting with his father trying to talk about… things.  Oh Goodness.  “My mother just gave me a book,” she informed her friend, “no talking necessary – and any embarrassment or awkwardness dispelled.”  She remembered putting the damned thing under her bed for near a month before she’d gotten up the courage to actually open it up and read it.

Then, she’d had nightmares about it.  But never a word about it had passed from mother to daughter.  For some reason, Jordyn assumed this was the usual way of things and didn’t question it.

She also couldn’t question Bran’s assertions.  She had no idea, and the things he was saying… she knew it to be true, but had never really put herself in the mind that it was applicable to her.  Digging her nails into the pillow, Jordyn turned a new, fresh shade of red.

He seemed so certain and Jordyn lacked the personal knowledge or experience to know any better than he did.  She shifted and hugged the pillow to her chest, clenching her jaw a little.  “That cannot be true,” she said more with hope than actual conviction.  Whichever part she was referencing, she wasn’t specific.  Most of it, she hoped was just Bran’s melodrama.

“I’m not entirely hopeless, am I?” she looked at her friend less for his silliness and future scenarios he would probably ensure happened and more for the actual words of someone who knew her, and apparently knew how these things worked.  Neely, in comparison, seemed lucky.

Of course, then he brought up the idea of meeting Jai and Jordyn paused, her cheeks still burning red.  “You can meet him whenever,” Jordyn informed him, “but you better be nice,” she punctuated it by throwing the pillow one more time.    "No interview necessary."

"You had it easy... I read the book all on my own, my mom was all I'm fairly certain you know more about it than I do, but dad... Ah, dad, wanted to bond with me. Never again" he laughed heartily but his eyes took a sad tone. His dad could never really deal with it, his sexuality. He was completely accepting of it, but simply didn't know what to do.

"Of it's true, sister" he said, nodding fervently and barely managing to contain his laugh at Jordyn's  hopeful voice. "You wouldn't want to know how many times a day a normal teenage boy with a healthy sexual appetite has to jerk off to avoid said inopportune hard-ons. At 16 a guy gets turned on by almost anything" he snorted loudly, thinking of a few extreme scenarios he himself had gone through when he was a lot younger. "So... My motto on the matter is, why scratch your own itch, when you can get somebody else to scratch it for you?" he smiled just as sweetly as ever.

"But no, you're not hopeless" he answered truthfully and on a more serious tone. "You're just more reserved and a later bloomer. But I'm telling you, it would only benefit you. You don't know half the health benefits sex comes with. Good sex... that is" he quickly frowned and gave her a side glance. "But no sex can be bad without practice, unless there's some serious sexual dysfunctions at play." He truly pitied all the men that suffered from such cases.

"You have different priorities at the moment and it's understandable. Most importantly tho, you're looking for actual connections and that's where I'll just never be able to level with you." He tucked a strand of hair behind his ear and looked absently at a wall, not ready—nor would he ever be—to talk about the true reasons for why he'd never actually get involved seriously with someone. Or form any sort of attachment on that level. "For you the time for enjoying sex will probably come later, when you've sorted out your professional life... But for me? Sure, I'm ambitious, but I live for the now. You never know what's going to happen and I'm not ready to have regrets. The few that I have accumulated until now have already... changed things" he said in a colder tone, a small tug of his lips downwards. "And beauty and youth don't last forever" he continued on the same tone, voice catching in his throat.

This was getting too grim for his taste and he was supposed to be talking about Jordyn and Jai not his own screwed up view of human relations. He bounced back to his sneaky joyful self, just as easily as ever, and upon Jordyn's warning he stood straighter and put his hands gracefully on his lap. "When am I never not nice, love?"  he blew her a kiss and smiled toothily. "What if he's secretly a serial killer, tho? Just a few questions... To make sure he's worthy of you. And I promise I won't even ask them at wand point" he grinned brightly, not joking in the least.

That was way too much information.  Her imagination was perhaps a little bit too strong and Jordyn blushed feverishly, reaching up to rub her eyes and get rid of the mental image.  That was so weird.  “You’re right,” she dead panned to him, “I don’t want to know.”  There was a slight nagging fear that his motto was a larger boy motto though and if she wasn’t… well… someone else probably would, and where did that put her?

Shaking her head, she refocused and frowned a little as Bran became more serious.  Sometimes when she wished he would be serious she regretted it as soon as he was.  Serious Bran was a little… strange.

He sounded older and usually, while Jordyn was the voice of maturity and reason, their roles had shifted momentarily.  He was probably right, at least about her, and Jordyn frowned a little when he talked about himself.  She thought he was being, perhaps, a little too definitive about what would and would not be the case for him, but she knew if someone suggested that she did not know herself she would be affronted, so she decided she would not do that to him.

Instead, she just listened quietly, her lips tugging upward a little when he said beauty and youth didn’t last.  “Youth might not,” she informed him, “but true beauty does,” she motioned to him, wanting to lighten his attitude and give him some confidence.  Not that he normally lacked that, but it seemed like he could use the boost – since he’d given her one (in a weird, morbidly sad sort of way).

The conversation picked up after that and Jordyn rolled her eyes.  “He’s not a serial killer,” she rolled her eyes at him, giggling.  “Your imagination is too active,” she added – completely serious.  It was.  She never really knew what was going on under those dark, curly locks, and sometimes she was positive she didn’t want to.

“And you are not nice all of the time!” she informed him, fake serious, putting her hands on her hip.  “You call me down her like I did something terrible to a kneazle – you probably made the entire dorm hate me even more than they already do.  In what world is that not mean?”

"I'm positive I still have some pamphlets at home about The teenage male body and what to expect from it and What to do when you wake up with morning wood?" he notified Jordyn with a blink and a smirk. He really did love teasing her. It wasn't his fault it was just so easy to do... His usual accomplices were much thicker skinned normally, but Jordyn was special like that, and he loved her for it.

He turned his eyes to her, with an expression of denial and raised his eyebrows questioningly. "Really, Jordyn? Are you going to wax poetically about inner beauty now? Burst into stanzas?" he snorted and tried to imagine his friend dramatically reciting Shakespeare. No. Just no. One of these days he'd get her to join the choir however... It was his goal to have his perfect choir by the time he graduated.

"My imagination is just fine. It's you that needs to broaden her horizons. You need to watch Psycho, and read the Hannibal Lecter series. It's a grim world we're living in" he said faux-seriously. "And they start young. What if he secretly tortures helpless little forest creatures?" he crossed his arms and nodded at himself. "And you did do something terrible. You betrayed me" he lifted the back of his hand to his forehead, as if on the brink of fainting. "And nobody will hate you, dear, they won't even remember it. Nothing gets between a NEWT student and his sleep."

"Speaking of... I've had one hour of that. I was going to sleep for an hour before breakfast, now I can't even do that. Who's mean now, eh?" he smiled blindingly charming and quirked an eyebrow in question.

"I do not need them!" Jordyn insisted, laughing as she did.  She couldn't believe him sometimes, and it made her cheeks continue to burn, even if the most embarrassing parts of the conversation were over.

Not that Bran made it that way.  She rolled her eyes as he talked about stanzas and verses.  That was the stuff of elementary education.  "I could, but I think you'd be so dazzled by literary skill you might faint," she winked at him, pretending to be offended by his disbelieving giggles.  "Jerk!" she announced, picking up another pillow, since the one she'd tossed before remained on the floor and threw it - just a tad harder than she intended.

Thankfully, it was just a pillow and she was sure he wouldn't be too put out by it.  Besides, he named things she didn't have any clue as to what they were and Jordyn quirked her eyebrow at him.  "I'll never understand your... fascination with muggle culture," she wrinkled her nose.  She wasn't particularly impressed by muggle things and only registered that that was what he was talking about with 'watch.' Unless it was a portrait, she didn't really watch anything.  It had to be one of those... moving pictures.

"I think you should lay off all of that stuff for a while," she added with a knowing little grin.  "You're getting ridiciulous ideas."  The idea of Jai torturning anything, even an ant or a beetle was complete lunacy.  He might have been tall, but he was a very gentle sort.  She liked that about him.  She liked a lot of things about him.

Clearing her throat, Jordyn reached up and raked her hand through her messy ponytail, another yawn threatening to come out as they talked about sleep.  She hummed in agreement and furrowed her eyebrows.  "Only an hour?  What were you up to?" she asked, slightly more curious now.  They'd spent an awful long time talking about her and not getting caught that now that there was a nugget of information about him... well, she definitely wanted to hear it.

"Sure you don't" he said with a calm sort of smile, just a tiny sparkle of mischief in his tone. He would get one of her dorm mates to leave them on her bed, in plain sight, just for the laugh of it. Or maybe not. It all really depended on his mood. "Oh, please do tell. I'd love to faint of literary enchantment" he snorted almost ungracefully, giving her a an arches disbelieving eyebrow. "Oh, you. Stop with the compliments" he responded to her fond insult, blowing her a kiss all the same. Yes, he was a jerk, one might even say a complete arse, but it was part of his charm.

"It's not a fascination, Jordyn dear. It's part of who I am. When your mother's a high school teacher, pop culture, movies and books sort of come with it" he shrugged absently rolling a stray curl between his fingers. "And we do so love a horror movie night in our family. You should join sometime, before I move out. We Blackwell are... an experience" he said, tone of voice neither contemptuous, but neither too fond either. Bran had a more complex relation with his family as opposed to the other Blackwells.

Yes, he supposed his idea was ridiculous, but he wanted to know just who Jai might be, having managed to snatch Jordyn's heart away... Which was not in truth a very easy feat. He smiled slyly as the conversation shifted to his own person and started humming something upbeat, thinking just about what had went on last night. "Oh... just the usual" he said cryptically, wagging his eyebrows at her. "Much was up, but especially I, up on a 7th year Claw, we shall not name. Ugh" he remembered finally and made a loud gaggin sound.

"Merlin's balls, Jordyn, this guy is so far into the closet it would almost be funny if this were not real life, but some ridiculous teenage show And he's such an ignorant arse, every time he opens his mouth some chauvinistic, arrogant idiocy falls out of it" he sighed deeply and shook his head. "On another note, he can use his mouth for other wondrous things" he grinned brightly and batted his eyelashes coyly. His features pulled straight and on a no nonsense tone he deadpanned, "He gives head like a bloody pornstar." Bran then proceeded to cackle, knowing how his friend would react to that.

High school.  Jordyn had heard of that, it was sort of the muggle equivalent of Hogwarts, she supposed.  It must have been dreadfully boring.  She wasn't sure she'd be interested in a horror film, but she laughed all the same and rolled her eyes.  "Perhaps!" she said with committment.  She certainly wouldn't be inviting anyone to her home to do anything with her family.

There was always about a forty percent chance her parents were not even speaking to one another, and their home was dreadfully empty... She supposed every family had their demons, but sometimes she wished that her family's could be just a little less... visible.

She didn't have much time to dwell, however, because Bran was now spouting a tale that made Jordyn's jaw drop.  She shouldn't have been surprised at all, really.

It was a little sad, of course, given the circumstances.  It was sort of depressing to hear about someone who didn't want to be who they were - and then who said fantastically ignorant things, probably as some kind of defense against it.  Of course, Bran probably didn't help - she couldn't imagine he said anything to help.  That was probably mean of her to think, but as far as he was good at making people feel comfortable with sexuality... Jordyn was always left on the squirming side of discomfort, so personal experience, maybe?

Shaking her head, Jordyn tried to push the blush back - with limited success.  "You're absolutely ridiculous," she informed him, trying not to smile from embarrassment.  It was incredibly difficult.  "Go get some sleep," she informed him, trying to shrug off the explicit imagery.

"You can write me out your 'schedule,' of times and locations in class - I know you're going to give it to me anyway," she teased before heading back toward the stairs.  "I have to get rid of this," she motioned to her hair, "and get beautiful before the day really starts."

Bran couldn't by now actually contain his laughter, so he simply burst open, tears mingling with his laughs and both hands on his aching stomach. "You make it so easy" he tried through snorts and chortles. He let out a long sigh, one or two stray chuckles still making their way out. "One day, Jordyn dear, I will explicitly and vividly regale you with one of my sexual adventures. Better yet, I'll give you some books that could put even me to shame. Eh? What do you say? It would build you resistance" he smiled lovingly and got up on his feet, cracking his back, neck and fingers.

"I can't possibly get any sleep now, but I do really, and I mean really—" he smiled the most demonic smile he could muster, his head low and looking through his eyelashes at her "—need a shower. A thorough one" he declared on a low, unmistakably sleazy tone. "I will have a color-coded copy for you in Arithmancy. I'm sure MacLeod would love to hear all about what it's for, and if i used any arithmantic equations to organize it, which in fact, I have. At leas Hogwarts education is good something" he mused with a confused expression.

"Yes, do get rid of the ponytail. And you're always beautiful" he almost cooed, breezing in the opposite direction back towards the bathroom. "See you later, hon. If anybody dares mention last night, hex their balls or hair off, yes? Ta-ta!"  he waved mindlessly behind him.
