Re: [May 16] One of These Things is Not Like the Others [Open] Reply #15 on June 27, 2014, 06:12:54 AM "I am not an idiot" Lala snorted loudly at that, because—hah, the delusion was high in this one. And then Liadán went and completely changed tune, and the young illustrator was just flabbergasted. How could one do a 360 degrees turn at just the snap of their fingers? In what universe was that even believable? And she had the nerve to turn herself into the victim here, and could she fuckin' not? That was just disgusting."Respect is earned, lady, and you have done nothing worthy of my respect. And you—did you just imply you might have an open-mind? Oh my god, you are just—bah" she basically screeched at the woman, because what? How was this person real? She was this sort of living walking caricature, and Lala just simply couldn't believe this. "And you have attacked me, viciously and personally. Me and every other muggleborn out there with your biggoted archaic views. And you have the fuckin' nerve to victimize and call yourself an innocent bystander?! How are you real?"By this point, Lala was frothing and her hands had balled up into fists, holding on for dear life on the goosfraba chanting inside her head. She would've clocked the twat here and there if Claire had not also been involved. Tha'd jsut make things awkward. Well, more awkward. At being called a wild animal, Lala was just done being nice, but Liadán had very rudely gathered up her carpets and took off and Layla's anger just dissipated around her. "I swear to god, if I ever see that creeper again, I willl punch her" she said looking after her to no one in particular, and finally turned to look at Claire with a tiny apologetic smile."Yeah, that happened" she agreed with a dead pan voice and a still reeling in from the shock of it all expression. It was soon all forgotten as talk of her grandmother came in. "Oh god, yes please, my grandma, tho a non-magical old lady, is the sort that kind of lost touch with fashion about—oh, I dunno— a century ago?" she snorted and rolled her eyes strongly. "So what were you looking for for before the Wicked Witch of the West came and rained on everybody's parade? I can scratch your back, you can scratch mine" she gesticulated wildly, as was the case with Layla Styles. "And then you'll have to let me buy you a shot, because nobody should have to process this sort of shit sober. Nuh uh" she shook her head forcefully with her lips set in a thin line and her eyebrows drawn at the middle. She kept an eye out for frocks that would suit such a tenaciously senile type of woman. All clothes looked essentially the same to her, particularly when dangling from a hanger. Claire's ears perked up and she practically got whiplash looking at Layla after she mentioned the word 'shot.' This was turning out to be a better day than she had expected! Claire grabbed the first thing her hand touched, pulling it off the rack without looking closely at it. "Found the perfect thing for your grandma!" she chirped, gesturing to the dress dramatically. Claire then looked at it herself, and after realizing that what she had picked was a shiny, sexy dress, blanched and dropped it. The image of her own grandmother wearing the dress was all too clear in her mind. "I think that a shot might make this a bit more fun..." Claire decided. "But just to be sure, I'll buy us a round as well." This girl was proving to be a much better shopping buddy than the other stranger she'd met. She couldn't be held responsible for emptying the contents of her stomach all over Claire, because that and her grandma did not make a pretty sight in the least. "You've possibly traumatized me for life" she said in a quiet almost whimpery voice, hands going to her face as if to claw her bloody eyes out. "It's burned into miiiiind" she cried long and dramatically. "I need mind bleach, now, thanks a lot" she snorted when the haunting images had finally left her mind.Reaching down to grab the hanger and the dress, she squinted her eyes at it and made a noise at the back of her throat. "Well, I dunno 'bout grandma, but I could rock the panels off this dress" she grinned, but upon seeing the price tag she muttered something and violently put it back n its rack. "Or not" She deadpanned, misery falling off of her in waves."I dunno about fun, but I certainly need to wash away the memory of this day with as much tequila as possible" she snorted and grinned brightly at hearing there'd be a second round as well. Lala was all about meeting new people, of all shapes and sizes, and Claire, so far seemed like an a-okay addition to her circle of acquaintances. But the true test laid in the her ability to drink and party with Lala... So this was going to be quite something. Now that Claire was looking at it, she had to agree. Lala's disgusted reaction was very much warranted. Claire didn't know Lala's grandmother, but she knew her own grandma and imagining her in this outfit was too much to bear. Her brain needed to be soaked in alcohol. A tequila girl, eh? Claire raised her eyebrows in an expression that showed she was both impressed and intrigued. She searched for her brain for a way to say ohgodyes without seeming too desperate, but after the fashion lessons from the zealot and the grandma-in-a-sexy-dress mental picture, she was having trouble coming up with something wittier. "Yes," Claire answered, "I think it's what our grandmothers would want." Muggle London that is" she frowned and waited expectantly for some sort of response. "But the shots are cheap and we might even still catch happy hour. Otherwise we can just pop by The Broomsticks, tho I highly doubt they have tequila. But we can try..." she said obviously skeptical. She laughed throwing her head back. "Oh, dude no. My grandma would give me a ridiculously displeased glare and then proceed to calmly tell me that I'm a disappointment to everything and everyone" she said with a snort, but fondly. Scary lady tho she may be, she lover her grandma nonetheless."Shall we, then? We cannot possibly disappoint the alcohol" she grinned brightly and offered her arm. Claire frequented the same few places, alternating between the cheapest bars in Wizarding London. The concept of going to Muggle London for drinks had never crossed her mind. This was pretty shocking for Claire McByrne, because she liked her alcohol cheap and bountiful. Plus, if there was one thing she knew about muggles, it was that they had good alcohol. "I'm down to hang with some muggles," Claire commented. "Spent way too long talking to a pureblood enthusiast anyway!" She linked arms with Layla, agreeing that the alcohol could not be left waiting. "You guide the way!" Claire suggested, mainly since she didn't know where this elusive muggle place was located. A new place sounded like exactly what she needed, especially if it involved tequila.
