Physical Description:  Mysti is pretty tall for a girl her age and stands at  5 feet 10 inches tall, with blue eyes and dirty blonde hair down to around her shoulders . When her hair is down, it curls a bit at the ends, but is otherwise straight. If she's feeling random that day, she'll poof it out looking somewhat like a poodle. Despite the slight poodle resemblance, she still enjoys it from time to time.  When not curly, she prefers having it down, but will sometimes be seen with it up in a ponytail. Her skin is a light peach color. As for her body shape, she has a bit broader shoulders than most girls her age, but she isn't necessarily big. She stays fit through quidditch training as well as running. She usually wears her robes around, as Hogwarts says, but will normally be spotted in jeans and a shirt on weekends. Her favorite color is blue and is usually wearing that color.

On occasion, her eye color will change due to her metamorphmagai ability. Darker hazel or brown for the sadder/angrier she feels.  And lighter greens and blues when she's in a better happier mood.  If she's particularly upset, sometimes her hair will change to a darker color. Mysti has learned to control it, but there are times when she finds it difficult.

Personality Description: Mysti has always been pretty strong willed, because of growing up with her brothers. Have two older brothers tends to make you a bit louder from vying for attention. She is also pretty tough because of growing up with the boys as well. Mysti has always been very outgoing, and doesn't mind bursting into song out of nowhere. She loves being a bit of a comic relief when there's a stressful moment.

When she first came to Hogwarts, she might have been a bit nervous, but she has definitely grown out of that. She didn't know many people when she first arrived, but quickly made friends. Through them, she was able to be more comfortable and show her true personality. And that includes the joking, singing, and even a bit of random dancing.  For those friends, Mysti will do anything.  Her friends mean a lot to her, and she will stick up for them no matter what.  To her friends, once they get to know her, they might be a bit annoyed at how blunt she can be at times.

 She does have an ability to come on a bit strong at first appearance though. Since Mysti is 5 feet 10 inches tall, people have a tendency to be intimidated by her. If someone gets on her bad side, she'll try to use her height to her advantage.  And despite that height, she is quite graceful when she moves. She enjoys being stealthy to sneak up on people as well.

And one last thing about Mysti is that she does have a tendency to be a bit boy crazy. She's not too bad, but when she likes a guy, she isn't as outgoing as she normally is. She'll tone it down a bit and won't always be sure what to say. It's all those silly nerves. Probably the one thing she'll actually get nervous about.

History: Mystique is the youngest child of three. She has two older brothers who kept her pretty tough as a younger girl. Her brothers are Jonathan Ketteridge, 4 years older than her, and Billy Ketteridge, 3 years older. She grew up playing quidditch with them, and her father, who works for the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Games and Sports. Jack Ketteridge would take his children to many Quidditch games and loved sharing his favorite sport with them. Mysti fell in love with it the moment she first saw it. The complexity of it all, along with the skill required to play it.

Both of her parents have always spoiled her and her brothers with great gifts and a great life.  Part of that might have been because her parents were both the only children in their families.  They, too, had been spoiled as children, and so Mysti and her brothers were spoiled like them, by their parents, and their grandparents.  Her father's parents lived not too far away, and they would always be able to visit.  But her mother's parents lived a bit farther away. Mysti did know them, but not as well as her paternal grandparents.  When Mysti was five years old, during the rise of the Dark Lord, her maternal grandparents came across a few Death Eaters who wanted some items that they possessed.  Unwilling to give the items up, the Death Eaters used the Cruciatus curse. By the time someone was alerted, the couple was in a bad condition when they were taken to St. Mungos.  The damage was too bad and Mysti's grandparent's didn't make it.  The loss hit the family hard, and though Mysti wasn't quite able to grasp what had happened, she knew it was bad.

Growing up, she had lessons with her parents and her father's mother for her Metamorph ability.  Mysti's parents realized it before she was old enough to know what the ability meant. It had skipped a generation, and it was still a pretty rare ability.  It was also something that she would mostly have to hide, because it would separate her from others in her class.

Geraldine Ketteridge, Mysti's mother, is a healer at St. Mungos Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. Her mother's job was a good choice, considering that with her three children almost always on brooms, they got injured a lot.  Mysti has always looked up to her mother and has even had the aspiration to become a healer like her mother.  When she was little, and not at Quidditch matches with her father and brothers, Mysti would go to Mungo's and help out with small chores.  She would also go visit patients during the winter holidays and try to help cheer up the ones who had no family to visit them.  Because of the loss of her maternal grandparents at a young age, Mysti always wanted to be like her mother and try to prevent that happening to others.  Her main ambition is to become a great healer and help out those in need.

Of course, while that is a dream of hers, she still has a hope to play Quidditch.  Mysti knows that it's not easy to go pro in Quidditch, so she keeps her eyes on becoming a healer.  Given the opportunity, Mysti just might pick pro Quidditch over healing.  Both are things she enjoys, and would have a difficult time choosing, but she does like the sense of danger that comes with Quidditch.  There's still a part of Mysti that would love to be an Auror, but she doesn't think she's got as much talent in the classes needed to reach that goal.

Her family always knew she was going to get accepted to Hogwarts, but were still so excited for her when they got the official letter. Geraldine cooked Mysti's favorite meal that night and they made a big event out of it getting her new items for school. Her brothers both attended Hogwarts (one in John in Hufflepuff and Billy in Gryffindor) and were telling her all about it. Mysti remembered them talking about it when they first started, and she loved hearing their stories every break when they would come home. Now she was excited to see it all for herself.

And going back further in her history, Mysti is related to Elladora Ketteridge.  She's the one who first discovered the magical properties of gillyweed. Of course, she nearly killed herself doing so, but hey, still pretty sweet.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Mysti is not exactly brave, but will stand up for her friends.  She's always been loyal to her family and friends. Mysti is also a friendly person, despite her strong willed personality.

Writing Sample:
Mystique woke up with a yawn on a beautiful morning. And by beautiful, it was and overcast and most likely going to rain. That was Mysti's favorite weather, though she held nothing against sunshine. Oh... way  too early... Morning...  She slowly sat up in her bed and stretched her arms out over her head, and then back down to her side. She extended her back up and twisted it a bit, hearing some little pops from the joints. She sat there for a few minutes, thinking about the interesting dream she had. It was one of those dreams where you are somewhere you know, but it looks nothing like what it really looks like. Oddly enough, she'd been to this place before in her dreams.

Tossing her sheets down to her feet, she rotated herself around so her legs were now hanging off of the bedside. She wiggled her feet into her slippers that she always kept by her bedside. "Ahh, Halloween! I should go get some breakfast." She said this quietly to herself as she looked around the dormitory. It looked as though most of the other girls had already gotten up and went down to the Great Hall. Mysti wanted realized she should take a shower first, and went to grab her shower items from her trunk and closet. She slowly made her way to the shower area of the Hufflepuff tower.

After her shower, Mysti wrapped herself in a towel and made her way back to the dormitory. She then threw on some jeans and a blue with a black sweater over it. After that, she put on some socks and her annoyingly bright colored converse. They were double layered, inside layer turqouise, and outside layer a bright blue. On top of that, the laces were a granny smith apple green. As it was the last day of October, it tended to be a bit on the colder side around the castle. Especially with this stormy looking weather, it would be a bit more chilly than normal. As she rethought the weather, she decided one of her black zip-up hoodies would be more comfortable, so she changed. She pulled out her brush and slowly started getting the tangles out of her still damp hair.

Quickly towel-drying her brown-blonde hair, Mysti grabbed her wand and put it in her wand pocket. She'd made a special wand-shaped and wand-length pocket on the side of her jeans so he'd be able to have it whenever she needed it. And it also served for not having to worry about it falling out. Before heading to the Great Hall, she put on some black bat earrings for festivity. After making sure she had what she needed, she started heading out the entrance to her dormitory.

There weren't too many people wandering around the castle yet, and Mysti enjoyed the emptiness. "Good morning!" she said to a few people she came across on her journey to the Great Hall. Not everyone she came across she knew, but since it was a nice morning, she was in quite a cheery mood. Besides her favorite weather, it was also her favorite holiday. She normally took a couple hidden pathways to get to breakfast, and did so this morning. "Oh,  crap," she said her foot got caught on one of the stones that cobbled the hallway, causing her to scrape her elbow on the wall. Mysti took a moment to clean up the small amount of blood with her wand, and sealed the wound.

Soon enough, and without much damage, she found herself at the entrance of the Great Hall. She made her way through the tables and took a seat at the Hufflepuff table. There, she was able to help herself to many of her favorites. Now... what to start with? Pancakes, sausage, and orange juice sounds good. Then she waited to see if anyone she knew came in, while she started on her food.

Sum up your character in one paragraph: Mysti is an outgoing friendly person who loves entertaining.  If she knows you well enough, she won't be afraid to be truthful with you.  Growing up with 2 older brothers, Mysti is a pretty strong person and loves playing Quidditch. She doesn't like to study, but still does well in classes. And she loves making new friends and making them laugh.

[How Has Your Past Prepared You For This Honor?:] Though Mysti has been involved in her fair share of trouble-making at Hogwarts, she does have a good head on her shoulders.  She has a strong personality and grew up with two older brothers.  She doesn't have too much trouble commanding respect, as she has the ability to be loud.  Also, people tend to be intimidated by her as she is quite tall.

Despite her having broken some of the rules, Mysti does know that rules are there for a reason.  Being put into a position of authority, she'll be more cautious in her schooling.  While she still may not be a perfect role model, she will try to best to be a near perfect prefect.  Besides, nobody is perfect, so why should she try to be?

[What Do You Think the Most Important Aspect of This Job Is:? Mysti thinks that being a good role model for other students as an important aspect of being a prefect.  As said above, she knows no one is perfect, and doesn't push other students to be such.  Mysti just believes that everyone should do the best that they can, and she wants to help them to do so.

[Tell a Story From Your Past That Has Proven Your Mettle:]
One day as I was walking along a deserted corridor, I came across an older Slytherin bullying a younger Hufflepuff student.  Well, I suppose that means that the corridor isn't as deserted as I had thought. But moving on, the young Hufflepuff girl was obviously upset and the elder Slytherin was being quite rude.  He was calling her names and wouldn't tell her the right way to the library.   She had gotten lost and he was the first person that she had run into.

Walking up to the two, I decided to interfere. "Is there a problem here? Because it looks as if this girl doesn't really need your kind of help."

The girl looked startled at first, and the Slytherin said he was just having some fun.

"Well, I don't think she's having too much fun.  So why don't you go find someone your size to bother." I said, waving him off.

Deciding he didn't want to cause any other problems, he just walked off.  Then, I showed the younger girl the way to the library and got her some ice cream on the way.

Mysti has grown up around Quidditch. Her father works for the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Games and Sports and always took her and her brothers to Quidditch games. She knows very much about the sport and loves playing it. Having been on the Hufflepuff house team since her second year, she has been an active participant in her team's strategies.
Mysti is also a prefect for Hufflepuff, and is a good leader. She knows how to handle situations that might be less than attractive through this responsibility. Also, she is an outgoing individual who knows how to tell it like it is. If something is wrong, Mysti will do her best to figure out what’s wrong and fix it.  Though only in her 5th year, she is mature and good at leading.
[What Do You Think the Most Important Aspect of This Job Is:?
The most important aspect would be to keep the team together and playing to the best of their ability. Everyone must be able to get along get over differences when playing this game. It is very much a team sport, and if people aren’t getting along, it’s the captain’s job to remedy that.
[Tell a Story From Your Past That Has Proven Your Mettle:]
Mysti grew up with two older brothers and a father that were all into quidditch. She would have to work to outmaneuver them all at times when they would scrimmage. Every summer when she goes home, she’ll participate in family games, as well as ones with neighboring wizard kids. A lot of the time, Mysti was the one who would devise the strategies. They wouldn’t always win, but a lot of the time, it would be really close when Mysti’s team did lose.
Once, her father even brought home a guest, in the form of one of the stars from a professional quidditch team.  Though he didn’t play, he was impressed by the skills of the the Ketteridge kids, and Mysti’s ability to strategize. He even told her she might have a shot at going pro if she kept working at it. That gave her a boost of confidence and she has acknowledged that even with losses comes new things you can learn from.

At what age did your character gain this ability?: Birth
How did they learn or hone this ability?: As a baby, Mysti’s parents realized she had the ability of her paternal grandmother.  With the help of her grandmother, and having a healer for a mother, and father in the ministry, Mysti was given the best training to control her ability. Her parents believed that she should be able to control it and avoid any problems of people finding out about it at school.  At home growing up, she was expected to practice control to make sure she wouldn’t abuse this ability.
She isn’t an expert with the talent yet, and there are plenty more features she could alter.  If Mysti is alone, she might try experimenting.  The best thing she’s been taught is how to go back to normal if she’s made a mistake in changing. Of course, there are times she will get too frustrated and end up having difficulty changing back.  
Describe how the Special Ability influences their life.  What do they use it for?: Currently, Mysti doesn’t have a reason to use her ability. For the most part, she tries to keep it secret.  She has told a couple of her closest friends, but it’s difficult to keep it from some of the people she gets to know. Being an emotional teenager, despite her parents making sure she practiced, her training sometimes gets overruled by emotions.  Sometimes she’s able to get away with her slip ups, but a couple have led to her telling friends in order to explain what happened.
But also, Mysti has been taught not to use her ability for her own personal gain. There have been many times she would have preferred to hide herself from others by being someone else.  Of course, her parent’s and grandmother’s voice would be in her head, telling her not to.
If anything, for those who do know, Mysti has used it a few times to try and cheer them up.  She can’t stand to see her friends upset, and she’ll try to make them laugh by making weird faces.  This is a good she sees from this ability, and something she hides from her parents.  While Mysti doesn’t see that as personal gain, her parents might not like her using it in such a way.
Write a description of what happens when your character is exhibiting this Special Ability: The biggest change in Mysti that could be noticed is her eye color. Eyes, being the window to the soul, show how she is feeling. While normally blue, when emotions tug, the colors change.  When in a good mood, they’ll be a brighter blue or green.  If she is upset, the color can turn to a hazel or dark brown, depending on the intensity of her frustration.  
If she experiences a bigger change, Mysti can normally tell.  Then, it’s up to her whether she’s bothered enough to focus her energy on changing it how it should normally be, or just let it go.  If it’s on purpose, she is able to focus on what she wants to change.  Mysti can see it in her mind and it normally happens.  
If Mysti does end up in a bad mood and someone is able to look her in the eyes, it can be frightening.  That would be the one thing she most wished she could control when upset.  Any of her uncontrollable mood changes can make others a little scared of her if she isn’t able to hide somewhere until she can calm down. This is another reason Mysti likes to use her ability to make people laugh when she gets the chance, to make up for the bad.
