| History of Magic 1:30PM, Monday March 29th, 2010 Classroom Highs of 45°F/7°C by the Quidditch Pitch; you think it would be warmer than the Black Lake or something but you'd be wrong

OOC Reminders:
>>Assume your character is on time and present, as the class met at the classroom before heading to the Pitch. If you have story reasons for a character being late, alert the instructor via PM or owl, or possibly a message attached to a Golden Snitch, but good luck catching one. Also, given class started late (general study period meshed with overlapping class times by grade) that's another factor to you wants of possible lateness.
>>If you are a new member/student, assume your character has been present in classes. Don't be afraid to post!
>>There are NPC students but YOU are the stars of the show!
>>Be courteous to everyone's availability.
>>Above all, FUN!! (and don't destroy the classroom and while snacks are allowed, no littering the quidditch pitch please; think of the house elves in nothing but bath towels cleaning the pitch outside of the warmth of the kitchens!)
Between the castle walkabouts, group pensieve interactions and field trips amongst the castle grounds, Prof. Jowd's History of Magic Classes would be a top contender for 'Most Classroom Excursions Award' this year if Hogwarts had room for such an honor in the Trophy Room. Though the amount of excursions might take a hit if reports of Dementors ever came closer than the village.
Today's class took advantage of squishing the First and Second Year class periods together. It was also something of a delayed promise, at least to the First Years, as Sissel had prior plans for this kind of class before winter had hit. But gradual warming to the grounds made it just as well to have the class now.
Even if it was still going to be lecture based, unlike other involved demonstrative trips, there was something to be said for having it on location.
And who didn't like sitting on the pitch bleachers instead of school desks? Sissel would have almost made them a permanent fixture of the History of Magic Classroom if not for the design pains that planning goblin rebellion reenactments indoors brought.
"As you might have guessed," Sissel began, sitting on the edge of the stadium railing in a 'seriously don't try this during a match kids' fashion, "I figured we could do being outdoors for a talk about the history of broom sports. This might be a revisit for some of you second years. But can anyone fancy a guess as to an early element of quidditch? Or another broom sport that was a precursor to quidditch?"
