Mr. Bevans,
Working for the Ministry of Magic in any capacity is a worthwhile investment. That said, it is also a place of pride. Working in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes is fantastic: you get to see a lot of interesting situations, and you learn to use critical thinking and difficult spells to complete your assignments. I am partial to the Obliviators, and as a Senior Obliviator, it is my career goal to see my department succeed.
It is not without its faults, but we don’t generally advertise those. We do not often have the ego of Aurors or the lofty-mindedness of Hitwizards, but we do work within the law to keep Muggles unaware of our existence. In instances where they become aware, we go to clean up the damage and repair what we can. With their silly gadgets and enterwebs, it has become more of a challenge. If you are looking for challenge, adventure, and learning, then I would encourage an internship over the summer.
For those who cannot find adequate housing, each department takes it upon itself to find living situations for the summer. When the career fair comes to Hogwarts, I would encourage you to seek out our booth for specific information.
If you have further questions, or if I did not explain something easily enough, please do not hesitate to send another owl.
Sincerely,
Casper Bagman
