He had an essay to write but absolutely zero motivation.  And as much as he felt cozy in the common room, he was antsy and needed to get out into the castle a bit.  The Great Hall was perfect - there was lots of space, no one studied there who cared about quiet (unlike the common room or library) and you never knew who would be there.  He wandered in absently shuffling his pentagonal deck of Exploding Snap cards, worn and singed at the edges. 

"Doyle...!"  He spotted the Gryffindor who was known about the castle for being rather a git.  "Sitting alone, as usual.  It's sad, lovely lad like you.  What is that? Are you studying?"

Figaro sat down across the table from Aaron Doyle.  Naturally, they'd known each other since they were first years, but they weren't exactly chummy.  If Figaro had any shame he might have noticed that Aaron probably found him annoying, but it didn't really matter.  Fig was bored. And well, Aaron was here.  Lucky for all!
