Casper had a stack of papers under an arm that held his
coffee mug, pushing the button for the lift repeatedly. The meeting he had just gotten away from had been droning to say the least. Was it nap time already? Though the step increase for his Senior position was definitely nice and noticeable, he missed that he could just do his cases and get on with his life.
For all his grumbling, he actually
did enjoy learning the political game at the Ministry. Edwin seemed to do well for himself; perhaps some day Casper would be able to manage the department.
Right then, however, he really wanted to eat the lunch his wife had prepared for him. Thinking about it made his stomach gurgle in agreement. He pushed the button a couple more times before waiting impatiently for the lift, changing hands for the coffee to take a gulp.
Finally the doors opened and he stepped inside, hand moving to punch in the third floor. It was definitely a Monday.
A noise of someone calling out, for him to wait or hold the lift (maybe?) only caused him mild pause before he pushed the floor button. He had things to do; sharing a lift for a short time with someone who wasn’t familiar didn’t rank high on his list of things to do. Casper took another sip of his coffee.
And then there was a hand there, pushing open the partly closed grate. Blinking in surprise, he let his hand come down with the mug in hand, feeling a little sheepish all of a sudden. “Oh... I’m sorry, I-”
Didn’t hear you? Didn’t want to? Couldn’t care less? “-hands were full.” He juggled his coffee cup over to his other hand to help her with the door - now that she was
there, he had to help out.
Otherwise how would that look? He had to keep up some appearances. He gave her a grin, as friendly as he could muster, once she crossed the threshold. “No one else out there?” His finger found his floor once again, pushing it as a reminder to the lift to get going.
