Physical Description:
Lucius Malfoy stands a bit taller than most at just about 6' and weighs 165 lbs. He used to be in very good shape and has tried to keep in shape. He is starting to show his age. He has pale skin and his face is rather pointed. His complexion is flawless. He has extremely light blond hair that goes to just past his shoulders. He often has it in a low ponytail. His eyes are a cool grey.
His clothes are all well-made and expensive, often in darker colors. He has two noticeable marks: his Dark Mark on his left forearm that has fade to light brown lines and his Azkaban brand on his neck. He tries to keep those less-noticeable. He walks with grace and poise and usually has perfect posture. His voice is low, deep and silky, almost cat-like.
Personality Description:
Lucius over the years, especially after the Battle of Hogwarts, has changed considerably. He still has trouble not showing his dislike for non-Purebloods or those he thinks are below him, but he no longer tries to harm them. He generally is polite, even to those he dislikes, but is usually a bit cool towards most people. He used to have quite a nasty temper, which he still does but it is a lot more hidden and tempered now that he is older. And he is still rather arrogant and feels most people are beneath him, but he has gotten better at hiding it.
His time in Azkaban changed him the most. It has left not only physical scars but mental as well. Lucius still has trouble sleeping due to nightmares, though they are fairly infrequent anymore, most weeks only about once or twice. He still can have a haunted look in his eyes and a sadness and weariness that never really went away. His Dark Mark and Azkaban brand still bother him, though it is more of a ghost pain or irritation than the actual thing.
He is still a bit arrogant and smug and he still loves power and money, but that has tempered by the fact that he nearly lost everything, including his family, to Voldemort's reign. He has been in the odd place of being distrusted by most of the Wizarding World and also having the Death Eaters turn their back on him. He adores his wife and loves her completely and spoils his son. He does love Draco but for many years had trouble showing except through gifts and showing his approval or disapproval. Towards Narcissa, he is warm and affectionate, but keeps it to a minimum in public, though he's not cold towards her.
History:
Lucius Malfoy was born May 16, 1954 to Abraxas Malfoy and Celeste Flint, two Purebloods, at Malfoy Manor. He was the only child and grew up spoiled and not wanting for anything. His parents, with his father in particular, taught the ideals of Blood Supremacy, which he believed wholeheartedly. His magic came fairly earlier and it was no surprise when he received his Hogwarts letter.
At Hogwarts, he was sorted into Slytherin like both his parents and most of his relatives. It was there that he met his wife, Narcissa. He was a Seeker for the Quidditch Team and became a Prefect his fifth year. He was also part of the Slug Club. He was a good student, excelling particularly at Charms and Potions, though he did well at them all. Following his graduation, he and Narcissa married.
After school, he was heavily involved in the First Wizarding War, eventually becoming one of the Dark Lord's most trusted lieutenants. Yet he was very glad when the Dark Lord was defeated, since he and Narcissa had a child, Draco. In order to keep out of the Azkaban, he claimed he was under the Imperious Curse and was believed.
Time passed until he planted Tom Riddle's Diary on the youngest Weasley, unaware that it was a Horacrux. He went to the Quidditch World Cup, leading the attack on some Muggles as a Death Eater, though he fled when the Dark Mark was cast. Later he returned to the Dark Lord's side while still being a good, law-abiding citizen. All that came crashing down when he was arrested as a Death Eater after the Battle at the Department of Mysteries.
He escaped and returned home to find it being used as Death Eater headquarters, his son given the Dark Mark and tasked to kill Dumbledore, and his family belittled, all as punishment for his failure. He began to look for either a way to regain his place as a favorite of Voldemort or leaving His fold. And the time came when his wife lied to the Dark Lord and allowed Harry Potter to finally defeat Him once and for all. Lucius was kept out of Azkaban due to his wife's actions and the fact that he didn’t fight in the battle, instead searching for his son. He was made to pay heavy fines and had to go wandless for several months, as well as other restrictions. He also gave up his Dark Artefacts and also any information he had on Death Eaters.
The last decade has been spent keeping a low profile as well as generally trying to improve how people viewed him and his family. He remodeled the Malfoy Manor, mostly to help get rid of all the bad memories while it was the Death Eater's headquarters. He's mostly kept to himself, though he has not turned into a hermit. He knows that most people don't trust his family, and him in particular, so his interactions tend to be limited. Lucius generally tries to distance himself from radicals, having learned how dangerous they can be for those he cares about, and has quietly supported more conservative candidates for Minister of Magic.
Describe your job duties and how you go about them:
Although he does not have a job in the strictest sense, he has started to do some charitable giving, as well as hosted or attended charitable events. In terms of helping the Ministry, he'll answer questions about the Dark Arts when the Aurors ask, as well as some mild counter-Dark Arts research for them, though he mostly gives information when needed. He also spends a good amount of time investing in various businesses.

Writing Sample:
Lucius sighed as he regarded the news. It seemed that there were rumors of another Pureblood Supremacist group and the editors were speculating on who was part of the group. And guess who they considered: Him. It seemed his families changing of sides did not work as well as he had hoped and they seemed to think that he was liable to join such a group. Malfoy had had to deal with that sort of group and the danger they put his family in, and did not want that to happen again. It placed the newspaper on his desk and stood, pacing around the room.
It amazed him how easily people jumped to conclusions about him, often baselessly. They had over the years painted him as an evil monster, who cared for no one else, a claim that was extremely untrue. He was madly in love with his wife and always gentle with her. He might be a bit harsh at times with his son, but that was in the past. He rubbed his neck, over the brand on his neck, before he sat heavily in a chair. If only he hadn’t joined the Dark Lord. He towards the end had been regretting his choices but he had to deal with them. He just wished that his family hadn’t suffered for it like they had. "I wish for a lot of things." His voice was a whisper, not that anyone was around to hear him.
Sum up your character in one paragraph:
An ex-Death Eater and once one of Voldemort's favorites, Lucius Malfoy tries to keep a low profile, preferring to stay out of the spotlight. Despite the fact that he was in Azkaban at one point, he has more freedom than most due to his changing sides during the Second Wizarding War. Now he simply wants to regain people's trust in him and restore his family's name. He still helps the Ministry with knowledge about Dark Arts and finds that he enjoys that.
