[Feb 26] Oh Captain, Oh Captain! (OPEN)

Later after dinner, and the match...

Chloe was pissed.

No, pissed didn't cover it.

Chloe was livid.

They lost. Again. Was this a practical joke? It had to be. There was no way her team was sucking as bad as it was. There was no way! She was Captain Chloe! She was supposed to bring this team victory! And again, and again, they let her down. She didn't want to see anyone. She didn't want to deal with anyone. She was so done with this stupid school, and this stupid game, and her stupid team, and everything. Her nerves were shot. She was angry. She was hurting. It was not a good day.

Chloe trudged back into the Ravenclaw tower, grumbling, a stabbing pain still in her shoulder after the hit she had taken. Some stupid Slytherin hit her. Or was it a bludger? Either way, she was going to blame that stupid house, Slytherin. She had spent most of the game on the bench, screaming at her team to get their crap together, and kick some arse, but clearly, they were incapable of using those things on the sides of their heads. Oh, right. Their ears.

She slumped down on one of the couches, gently wrestling out of her ravenclaw sweater, leaving her in a white camisole, as she withdrew her wand, and started to undo the dressings of her shoulder wound. She wanted to use her own dressings. The ones she had custom made with some old ones, and some extra thread and padding. She was grounded from flying for a few days, until Nagade cleared her. Which was stupid. She wasn't going to sit out another game because of this stupid shoulder. That was what was not going to happen.

"Accio dressings," She casted, as her medical supplies flew out of her room, and to her hands. It was then that she carefully started wrapping her shoulder again, unable to get it over the trouble area. She groaned in frustration, throwing the supplies next to her, and resting her head in her hands. She wanted to shout. To scream until she couldn't scream anymore. She wanted to yell at someone. She just wanted a superhero to come fix her. And fix her team. And her grades. And her family. And her future. She sighed. Her plate was only so big.

He'd taken the long way back to Ravenclaw tower, sticking to all the familiar back corridors and secondary staircases in an effort to avoid the majority of students heading up to their dorms.  Sasha had been half-tempted to bypass the Ravenclaw dorms and continue up to his usual hideaway in the Astronomy tower but then he remembered, as Head of Ravenclaw, Professor Trishna was likely to share the house's somber, downtrodden mood.

Not even the riddle-locked knocker on the Ravenclaw door was immune.  "What flies backwards and and can't tell a quaffle from a cauldron?" the knocker asked, voice particularly flat and unamused.  With a deflated sigh, Sasha murmured, "we do."  Without the usual logical, debating banter, the knocker grunted and the door swung open.

Sasha started across the common room, determined to disappear in the boy's dorms behind a large stack of books.  Distraction was welcome.  But, when he spotted Chloe on the couch, he hesitated.  What were the chances the captain was going to kick him (or any of the rest of them) off the team at first sight?  Not that it was really any one person's fault they lost.  Sasha had been at the far end of the field when Harper had spotted the snitch.  Despite his best efforts, catching up would have required apparition.  Still, it wouldn't surprise Sasha if Chloe was more frustrated than the rest of them.

Sasha flopped on a couch near Chloe, leaning his head back against the cushion.  He sat in silence for several seconds, honoring a moment of simple decompression from the game before shaking his head.

"Scheiß," Sasha said, simply at first.  "That ... are you okay?" he asked, remembering that the captain's injury had contributed to their loss.

Any other person (and surely a few Ravenclaws) would have blamed Chloe for the state of the match. Peyton however blamed himself. He was a star player, he had been on the house team for years, he had once been Captain himself, but due to him inability to keep his marks up above an A he had lost his position as Captain and a fight with his half brother had landed him in detention, causing him to miss playing in the match. He had no idea if he would have been able to turn that match around bit not being able to anything, not even sit in the crowd and watch was tearing him up inside.

He had contemplated avoiding the common room, but after the detention he had just had, there wasn't many other places in the castle he actually wanted to be. He regretted his decision as soon as he entered the common room. The two most notable occupants were Sasha and Chloe, the team Captain was also in a state of undress while trying to fix the bandages on her shoulder. Although he had been unable to watch the match, he had a good idea what had happened just by walking through the corridors and listening to all the other students talking about it.

"Aww shite." He groaned looking at Chloe's shoulder, "Harris, I am so so sorry. I swear, no more fighting, lots more studying. I won't let the team down again, I promise."

Rosie was feeling a little down what with how the game had ended. She certainly wasn't a Quidditch fanatic, she enjoyed  watching the odd match once in a while, but she definitely had her Ravenclaw pride, and she was always up in the stands chanting her support for her team and donning blue and silver from head to toe. But when the team disappointed yet again, the usual smile and warmth Rosie sported, were a little a subdued and a little bitter.

She returned to the castle, sighing all along the way, prepared for celebration, the reality of the loss having her deflated and resigned to doing a little class reading, while laying down in bed. So she'd stopped by the library to pick up a few tomes and made her way back to the tower, clutching her books to her chest. When she entered the common room, her head was down, watching her steps and sighing, but when she raised her head to see three completely dejected Quidditch players, Rosie smiled a little sadly at the lot of them and nodded in greeting.

She made her way to them, dropping her books on a table nearby and rolled up the sleeves of her robe, then quickly cast a cleaning charm on her hands. "Here, let me do that" she said with a warm smile, leaning a bit over Chloe to delicately move the bandages from the girl's hands to her own and set to quickly and efficiently wrap her shoulder. "Are you in a lot of pain?" she asked softly when the silence was getting a little heavy. "I might have a little Star Grass Salve left in my chest... If you want, I could give it to you when we go to sleep" she offered, clasping the ends of the bandage with a little sticking charm.

"All done" she quipped, letting one hand rub soothingly at Chloe's arm for only a second, before she moved to take a seat on the other side of the couch, next to the Quidditch captain. After a few moments of silence, Rosie started fidgeting with the edge of her skirt, looking at her feet as she wiggled her shoes inside her boots. "The Slytherin bludgers were ruthless" she commented, with a little frown, dropping back into the couch, with a little sigh.
