Howl, Hogwarts, Howl

It finally happened - Figaro is in charge of something! He's taken over the Hogwarts Howler (no one is quite sure the exact chain of events that led up to it), and is rearin' to go.  We'll say it happened around March 1.

• Anyone can write silly articles for the Howler! You don't need my permission, but I'd be happy to lend a hand.

Just about anything is fair game for an article.  Teenage stuff, wizarding pop culture, class griping!  Just be sure that if you're taking a dig at anyone get permission from the writer first.  ^^

In-character, I'll say that the staff meets once a month and puts together a paper, and plans for the next one. 

Ignan would like to inform Figaro that if he sees himself in print in anything but a suitably fitting manner, he'll have him out on his ear. (He reads the Howler purely for moderation purposes, obviously )

Ambrose would be co-ersed into helping, certainly, but doubtful it would be any cracking editorial. (Cousin Theta used to write for the Howler up until last year.) The fact that Figaro is heading things up is a big plus for him, as I feel he has a certain respect for Sellaphix (enormous burps on dragon pox inspection day and all)

If he'd need prompting, Figaro could come and get him for legacy reasons.  "We've got plenty of salt, but not enough Pepper.  Get your quill, Amby!"

Connor wrote an article for the Howler, once! I've thought about having him write more, but I always got distracted. Now my excuse is that Connor was too busy bumming around and getting detentions, to stay in one place fer long and write anything~

ANYWAY. Now that Fig's Head Howler, (uh oh, sez Gracie) Connor's got more than enough time on his hands to commit his lowly self to the pursuit of truth! So you have him, should you want.

(OR, he's been with the Howlers for a while, but has published articles under a pen name unless he really wanted to piss people off. I dunno if you're keeping track of things strictly by articles actually written/submitted/posted, though, sooooo... whatever works for you!)


(AS FOR MY OTHER BBS: Gracie laughs at the articles, I think—sees them all in good fun until she reads something she doesn't like, anyway; Esther hrrmph's at them in public, and reads them in sekret; and Theo will come for Fig if he is portrayed or mentioned in a less than satisfactory light. :> )

I'm totally okay with anyone currently being on staff, or having been on staff, as they see fit! Figaro's not the exclusive type, so it works out just fine IC!  Feel free to add your name to the wiki or just let me know and I'll consider your char a member.    The Howler also excepts articles from anyone who submits one, 'member' or not.

CONNOR - Yea, works for me! If we get a 'meeting' or something underway, I'll definitely ping you.

THEO - Oh gosh, you know how much I loooooooove Figaro mouthing off.  Gosh, even little threats like that are incredibly tempting to me.  Eeee!

Past revivals with the student paper I've had Obderedria interested but never got around to what she would do. She's probably convinced herself it's not worth to try, even if she is interested.

As for other characters of mine, I could think of a few as sources for stories. Figaro talking the helm of the paper also brings a new dynamic to how Ligeia thinks of his irresponsibility vs responsibility, and thus look at the paper more.

I've posted a meeting! Any and all welcome.  We'll come up with crazy story ideas, probably argue, probably waste a bunch of time.  Whatever you'd like! Any challenges to Fig's authority are welcome too.

If your character isn't the type to come on their own, feel free to have it that Figaro convinced/bullied/ordered them to come.  Whatever fits!

I have half a mind to throw Poppy into this - she thinks she might make an excellent cub reporter, plus she really likes the idea of having her own by-line. I don't know WHAT she'd write, but it would have to turn out better than her average homework assignment...right?! Hehe!

Yes! Poppy'd be very welcome. I see the Sellaphix Era Howler being more quantity than quality.

Remi is a very good person to talk about about gossip and rumors... Since it's what he normally does when he's bored. Since he's so quiet and nimble he can easily find the scoop on topics are supposed to be secret or classified.

As for actually writing....not his thing.

Perhaps just as an anonymous source. A long time ago I was planning on having Remi make a business of of getting gossip and really secretive stuff but that idea never stuck with me. So I guess him snooping on other people for the Howler is just as good.

If you want I can have him join the thread, it's just that he REALLY does not want to have any of this end up biting him in the butt. So he probably won't write any articles.

By the way, CONGRATS ON YOUR 1000th POST!!! 

It's really what you want, not what I want. Just make yourself involved in any way that works for you! As I've said, Figaro's very open to whatever so he's kind of a 'do what you want' kind of editor, at least at the moment. 

If Remi wouldn't show up on his own, and you want to be in the thread, then just have it so Figaro shoved a flier in his hand or something like that.
