Leo was in a particularly foul mood today.

But at least he was allowed be away from the Hogwarts campus on Hogsmeade weekends, though it wasn’t like he could afford to buy anything. He usually spent his time window shopping, looking at things he was interested in but would never dream of purchasing. It was a sporadically rainy day, but the weather wasn’t as chilly as it had been during the winter months. His hands were tucked firmly in his pocket, and the collar of his coat was popped up to help keep his neck warm.
He wished that Corey or one of the other Beauxbatons students was around. Or at least someone he liked. That way he wouldn’t be so damned bored.

As Leonardo passed The Three Broomsticks he looked into the window casually and—was that—it had to be her! He tried to make eye contact with his old friend, to no avail. It seemed he had to get her attention another way. It seemed she ewas getting ready to leave, so he waited by the door.

As she exited the building, he snuck behind her in a way that he thought was sneaky. Leo attempted to cover her eyes.

"Haven't seen you in awhile, Addie." Leo said, trying to sound irritated when he was anything but. Seeing her had made his day. They were old friends growing up-- and he was taller than her now. Their mothers were friendly still, probably sending Christmas cards to each other. Leo hadn't seen or heard from Adelia in over a year.

He hoped their relationship was the sort that went on pause when they weren't around each other, instead of the kind that reset. It was much easier to pick up where they left off rather than starting over.

She had just finished with a pick up delivery for the workplace and it was firmly stuffed within her jacket. The walk towards Honeydukes to pick up the clearance St. Pat's chocolates were on the mind and so, Addie was absolutely taken by surprise when hands wrapped around her eyes. A squeak piped out followed by wrapping fingers against her wand's hilt - that is, until she heard Leo's voice. The squeak became a grunt and with it, squirming enough to escape the young man's arms.

"You - you!" she began, mimicking a sense of annoyance, placing her hands on hips, "don'cha know it's impolite to startle a lady?" Addie paused, lips pressed in a thin line before cracking into a grin. "Luckily though, I happen to be a lady that'll still knock your bum into mud." The young woman wrapped arms across his waist, beaming happily to Leo. "You've gotten a quite bit taller. Has Mother been feeding you plant feed again or did we finally relent in eating our asparagus and lentils? .... It's really good to see you, 'Nardo."

He couldn’t do anything  except laugh at her fake annoyance.

“Ah, but I don’t see any ladies here. Just you, Addie.”  Leo elbowed her mockingly, “I doubt you can take me on now. Didn’t you hear? I’m a champion!” Not only that, but his team had won the last task by catching the snidgit. He threw an arm around her shoulder casually. Seriously, he didn’t remember her being this short. Leonardo had gone through a growth spurt in the last two years. In his head, when he remembered Adelia, she was taller than him and pushing him around in the siblingesque way she did.

He had missed her.

“Like I would ever eat lentils and asparagus.” Leo scowled, “Preposterous. No, no. I just willed myself to grow taller, so I did.” Because that’s totally how it works. “It’s nice to see you—what’re you doing here?”

"You willed yourself to grow taller, Leonardo? Reallllly? If that's so, then you won't mind if you share some of that will power and help get me tall too, right?" Addie teased, jabbing the boy's ribcage playfully. It was honestly good to have someone around from childhood, even if the said someone was now taller than you. Shaking her head to dismiss those thoughts, Addie kept closely by.

"A champion? Ooh, congratulations, indeed! If you are one then, you won't mind taking me for lunch and maybe then after, I'll take us back to Honeydukes so I can buy you some fleur de sol caramels, hmm?" Addie played coyly, twirling her blonde locks while twinkling the sapphire eyes.

"Whad'ya say?"

“You heard me. I willed myself.” Leo insisted, the smallest of smirks dancing on his lips.

“Ah!” He put on the most wounded face he could as she elbowed him, “Are you trying to murder me to death, Addie?! That’s not how to treat a man you want to go on a spicy date with!” Spicy date at honeydukes? Dream on, Leo. Dream on.

Still, he was genuinely happy to see her—Leonardo wasn’t fond of most of the students at Hogwarts. In fact, he had gotten into a physical fight with one of them. Leo still a couple of nice bruises along his torso from that, though eh had taken great care to heal the ones that appeared on his face. He had always been very careful about making himself look good—and bruises very rarely enhanced someone’s appearance.
