    Character Profile

    Basic Info
Full Character Name: Morrigan Letitia Blackthorne
    Character Birthday & Age: November 15, 1998 - Age 11
City & Country of Birth: Godric's Hollow, England
    Pureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn: Pureblood
    House & Year: Hufflepuff - 1st Year

Wand: Pine, Dragon Heartstring, 7 and 3/4 inches. Bendy with a spiraled shaft.

    Physical
Morrigan inherited her curly ginger hair color from her father and bright green eyes from her mother. Her build is average and she is no smaller than any other girls her age. Freckles cover her oval face and the rest of her fair-colored skin.
As probably one of the few students her age that keeps up with style, Morrigan is often clothed in the most fashionable get-ups...except that they are wizarding AND muggle styles. She likes to mix and match. Cute accessories are a must! Then again, Morrigan does have a horrid habit of getting into scuffs and she ends up tearing or dirtying up most of her nice clothes.

    Personality
Being a girl isn't always fun, in her way of thinking. She really enjoys playing with dolls, dressing up, and reading the latest issues of magazines for tips on beauty, health, and home... (and it's not easy to do it in a house full of people who play Dungeons & Dragons then wander around Diagon Alley to get some ice cream) But every once in a while, the appeal of digging around in the dirt and smelling the grass becomes overwhelming to her. She can't be a tomboy because she really is such a girl yet Morrigan gets an urge to join in on boy fun. Such are the problems of a heart torn in two.

She is highly persistent and helpful, too. The youngest of four children, she somehow got it in her head that she was a burden on her family (not that they ever thought that) and she quickly caught on to being a little more mature than they had expected. She followed in her older sisters' footsteps and grew confident in who she was. She is not a unique snowflake by any means; an average girl with not-so-average problems (alas! the need for a G.I. Joe!), but there are times when she can be a real handful. Her sassy nature can be entertaining. It's the sudden short bursts of a foul temper that can be hard for someone to handle.

    History
Morrigan was the only child of the Blackthorne's to be born on English soil and she was such named for her ancestor, the first Blackthorne. All her siblings were born in America. Her older sister Serenity grew up in Britain which meant that Morrigan was not the only one speaking with an accent. From an early age, she spent countless hours with her sister Serenity because the older siblings, Angerona and Romaine, were at Hogwarts. Their father took good care of them, often spoiling them with love and affection.

Serenity had a shadow from the moment Morrigan learned to walk. She tagged along behind her sister and went everywhere with her, copying and learning. Video games never really suit Morrigan's taste. She was too interested in the pretty girls in magazines to bother with watching a plumber hop around beating up odd turtles. Sometimes, she would sneak into her mother's room while she was away and pamper herself with make-up or try on her mother's dresses. Her father and Serenity got several good laughs out of it. Then the letter came and Serenity, too, was whisked off to Hogwarts.

It was only for a year. But that year changed a lot for Morrigan. She didn't have anyone to invite to her tea parties or giggle with her about their father's loud snoring. It was just her and her dad. He didn't know what to do with Morrigan; she was too girlie. They played Aurors and Azzies every once in a while. They were both shocked when she discovered how much she liked mud and dirt. During her year of individual growth out from under her sister's shadow, Morrigan started a garden. This invited gnomes into their yard and Romulus laughed whenever his daughter frantically scrambled around the back yard tackling them, screaming, "STAY OUTTA MY FLOWERS!" Then, her Hogwarts letter came and she went to Hogwarts.

    Summary
Morrigan has many good qualities to her name: dedicated, hard-working, stylish, and friendly. There are also some traits she is not so proud of such as a terrible temper and her over-eagerness to be helpful and make friends. Some call it desperation, others just think she's annoying. But Morrigan is always, always sincere about what she says and does. She is girlie and yet also takes some time to roll around in the mud when the need arises.

    Extras

    Wand

    Pine Wood
The straight-grained pine wand always chooses an independent, individual master who may be perceived as a loner, intriguing and perhaps mysterious. Pine wands enjoy being used creatively, and unlike some others, will adapt unprotestingly to new methods and spells.

Many wandmakers insist that pine wands are able to detect, and perform best for, owners who are destined for long lives, including Garrick Ollivander who had never personally known the master of a pine wand to die young. The pine wand is one of those that is most sensitive to non-verbal magic.

There is nothing about Morrigan that would suggest 'loner' or 'mysterious', but there is something intriguing about her character. A trendy girl who enjoys dress up that also likes to roll around in the mud? A helpful, responsible eleven year old with a wild imagination? And this is just the beginning of her development! Whatever Morrigan's qualities, the wand is surely destined for being used creatively.

    Core: Dragon Heartstring

As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend to learn quicker than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner.

The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental. It also tends to be lethally hazardous if combined with certain woods, such as Cherry or Yew.

Learning quickly is essential for a wand in order to be able to keep up with Morrigan. Flamboyant spells may be in her future for she has a tendency to be extravagant and flashy. Her love for fashion shows off that quality. The wand has a desire to show off its power and it chose Morrigan because, someday, she will be a good match for its potential. Accidents should be expected when a powerful, flamboyant wand is placed in the hands of a child that does not yet know the ways of magic.

    Length: 7 and 3/4 inches

If anyone knew as much about the Blackthorne family as Garrick Ollivander, they would understand why Morrigan's wand is a full inch shorter than her older sister, Serenity's. The reason behind this is absolutely fascinating, but only if one is aware of the fact that Morrigan has been following Serenity around ever since she could walk. The wand is not an inch shorter because of that fact nor does it suggest that she is fated to always be 'one step behind' Serenity. No, no, it is quite unrelated to Serenity at all! Her wand is, in fact, 7 and 3/4 inches long simply because she will grow to be exactly one inch taller than Serenity when they have stopped growing!

Handle: Bendy with a spiraled shaft.

Bendy: Divination. Flexible nature, open to new ideas and knowledge.

Spiraled Shaft: Quick witted and Open-Minded
