The Haunting Hour on August 07, 2013, 02:31:59 PM An ominous and enigmatic radio show that comes on the Wizarding Wireless Network in the wee hours of the morningWhat? It's late. You're slowly pecking away at that horrendous essay for Professor Storm or one of Zephyr's hopeless, bureaucratic reports. The kettle is whistling but the room is quiet... and the Wireless has been left on to mindless elevator music. Just as you're about to put on the third cup of the evening, static noises scrape at the speakers. You look up."It's a full moon tonight listeners. Welcome- to the Haunting Hour."How?Balfour Spectre may head the Ministry's Beast division as his day job... but once every two weeks, in the dead of night, he anonymously hosts the Haunting Hour. This is done with the technical help of a cousin working at the WWN and it is broadcasted from the basement floor of his apartment building. The show is a playful but sharp commentary on the media, Ministry and Wizarding society. Unlike his daytime persona, Balfour is bitingly critical of these subjects when he is on air. He also takes calls from listeners- who address their tuners (recent models only) or use modified telephones (landline only). Threads will feature call transcripts from listeners. Interested in calling in? Please PM Raine Almasy. When?Between 0200 and 0400, fortnightly with exceptions. Typically on a Wednesday or during the weekend. Why?Balfour likes the Daily Prophet, he likes that they criticise the Ministry. He also admits that printed media has its limitations- sponsors, politicians, censors. The Haunting Hour is intended to stir up a different brand of food for thought.
