Wand: His wand is made from Elm wood with Demiguise Hair as its core. It’s pliable and have decorated shaft. The length is around 10 inches; he takes good care of it.
Physical Description: River carries a lot of his grandmother’s Chinese characteristics. He has black hair, thick eyebrows and pale, unhealthy white skin. These attributes makes his light brown eyes stands out than any other parts of his body. River is quiet short; he’s around 5’7”. Like most members of his family, his body is very slender and almost without muscles. His voice is deep, but fluid. River talks in whispers and likes to snort rather than to laugh. He looks polite and dresses properly when he needs to. Too bad he hunches his back; his posture is terrible and it makes him looks kooky.
River is often seen wearing his grandfather’s old glasses with chains attached to it. He says that it gives him a boost of confidence that he needs, but no one knows for sure.
Personality Description: At work, River is often mistaken as a robot. He’s calm and collected, but stiff as well. His words are polite and he always appears professional. He’s very serious about his job and known for his perfectionism. Most people like to work with him without knowing anything about him at all. However, outside his work zone, River appears to be more cheerful and more open. He listens to other people’s story and can be a good friend to hang out with. He has a maturity side of him, and thus makes him dependable in a sticky situation. But, that’s it. He wouldn’t let most people to get any closer than that.
Like a coin, River has another side of him, a side which he doesn’t feel comfortable to talk about. Inside, River is insecure. He ends up setting too high standards for himself and can be frustrated if he does something incorrectly. His mind is always picking and mumbling over small things, he couldn’t see the big picture. River is quiet clever, but when it comes to dealing with stressful emotional situations, he can be illogical and impatient. This gives his close-relationships a huge impact. He usually makes bad choices and ends up being hurt.
Growing up without a father was hard and it left a hole inside his heart. Although River is an Auror, he doesn’t really understand the word ‘justice’. River likes simple things and he keeps his thoughts to himself. So as long as he does his job right and get paid, he doesn't complaint much.
History: Markus Doyle was a well-respected healer. He saved a lot of lives during the first rise of the Dark Lord. Markus was also a strict father. He had a daughter named Anna Marie Doyle. She was quiet stunning, but also quiet rebellious. She ran away from home at the age of nineteen and met a man named James White. The two lived together in Dorset, away from Markus Doyle. James had a small business and his income wasn’t enough to both of them. Money started to become an issue and James became more violent. Still, Anna Marie loved him and wanted to be with him.
At least that was until Anna Marie knew that James was a wanted former Death Eater. James didn’t want his wife to leave, but Anna Marie felt betrayed and scared for her life. She owled her father and told him everything. Markus Doyle couldn’t be happier, he went out and picked up his only daughter and brought a group of Aurors with him. James was angry and lashed out. In the end, he had no choice and surrendered. James White was put in Azkaban for thirty years and Anna Marie went home with his father. No one knew that Anna Marie was two-months pregnant at the time.
When Markus found out that his daughter was pregnant, he was terrified. He tried to convince her to give the ‘bad seed’ away. His daughter was quiet young, she always wanted to become an Auror and she didn’t need a baby. But Anna Marie put her carrier on hold. She decided to keep her baby anyway and on December 1987, River Doyle was born. Markus changed his mind. He was happy, River was his first grandson. Anna Marie had no intention to told James and wanted to raise their child on her own. She had no difficulties with telling River about her former husband. The three of them lived in the Doyle Manor together. As a child, River was quiet and obedient. He spent a lot of time reading Markus’s books in the family’s library.
Years later, River went to Hogwarts. The year 1998 was a dangerous time for the wizarding community. The Dark Lord was on the rise for the second time and Harry Potter was the only hope. River was sorted into Ravenclaw. Markus and Anna Marie weren’t surprised, since most of the Doyle family members were sorted into the same house. He had good marks and showed talent in Transfiguration. River also joined a gang of boys. It was the geekiest gang ever, but he and his braces fit in. His mother was very proud of him.
The situation in the wizarding world became more unsafe and Anna Marie didn’t want to risk anything, she brought River home just in time. The war broke. Markus hid his family into safety and joined the battle. James White escaped the prison along with other Death Eaters and went to Hogwarts. He killed three people before an Auror came and ended his life. The Doyle family didn’t lose any members, except one little dirty Death Eater. When Anna Marie found out that her former husband had died, she felt sad. It was clear that she still had some feelings for James White. Her health’s condition got worsen and she was forced to stay at home. River and Markus tried to comfort her during the tough ordeal.
River came back to Hogwarts and studied hard. He wanted to make his mother proud and happy again. Close relationships almost never existed throughout this period of time, but River had one particular experience. In his fifth year, River found himself in love with Knox Greyfiar, the History Professor. He thought he was mad. It was silly and he probably found Greyfriar as a father figure more than anything else. He kept his feelings a secret and didn’t tell his grandfather that he was attracted to men. Other than that, he managed to focus himself to his study. River continued to show talent in Transfiguration, some of his friends suggested him to study animagi.
After school, River told his family that he wanted to become an Auror. His grandfather was very happy and so, River joined the Auror training programs for three years. He worked hard and also studied animagi by himself. River’s perfectionism attitude became a boomerang; it held him back quiet often, but also helped him in many ways. After three long years, River got promoted. He was now a full-time Auror and ready to take his first case.

How did you get your current job? How does your past and abilities justify your current position?: Auror is a wizard who tracks down and capture Dark Wizards under the order of the Ministry. To be an Auror, a wizard have to undergo three years of training. River sent the ministry his resume in October 2005 and got accepted as an Auror in Training two weeks later. Although he’s not a very capable duelist, River is talented in transfiguration. He's an animagi, so he usually does espionage works and tracking rather than directly facing Death Eaters and criminals. River is also talented in doing paperworks, thanks to his perfectionism nature. His reports are usually detailed and neat.

Writing Sample: Show your character in a scene that illustrates their best and worst aspects of their personality. Include action, dialog and thought. River opened his eyes and looked at the old mirror in front of him. Do I look okay? Is this appropriate? Those thought came rushing through his mind. He glanced at the clock, it was already seven thirty. River fixed his clothes for one last time then grabbed his jacket and got out from his room. He didn’t make a sound as he walked down stairs. River could smell coffee. His grandfather was always a morning person.
His grandfather was sitting in the living room as usual. The old man looked up from his newspaper, “don’t forget to bring the flowers.” River stepped back and grabbed a bouquet of Lilies on the cheap glass table.
“Why don’t you come-”
His grandfather sighed and said, “I can take care of your mother.”
River bit his lip in frustration, but decided to drop subject. It was too early for an argument. His grandfather gave River a quiet smile, “just put the flowers and clean the tomb if you can.” River nodded wordlessly and walked out the door. The weather in Dorset was clear and sunny, but he still felt the cold wind brushing against his skin. River closed his eyes once more and apparated.
Sum up your character in one paragraph:River is quiet easy to deal with. His words are polite and articulate. He’s a simple man and small things makes him happy. His perfectionism makes him difficult to deal with and River comes off as stiff and too formal. Still, inside, he's curious and wants to know more about people. Describe how the Special Ability influences their life:River is known for his talent in Transfiguration since childhood. Learning animagi is his biggest and hardest challenge for him and he planned to use this ability to help him with his work.
Write a description of what happens when your character is exhibiting this Special Ability:River needs to put a lot of concentration in order to transfigure himself into his animal form, which is a robin. His animal form looks quite like a normal European robin (with red-orange breast and face), but it have light brown eyes instead of black eyes. He can hold his form for about two hours. If he does more than that, he’ll get an extreme headache and can be exposed to huge risks. In his animal form, River is not able to communicate with other robins around him yet.
