Dearest Zeta,

Please pass on this letter to Eta when you see her in the morning before the newspapers arrive at breakfast, then to Ambrose and Tim. I am trusting you with the news alone first.

Dad has got himself in trouble with the Ministry. He made Ed's car fly, yes, no other than the Head of the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes! I don't believe he had permission, and he didn't get the invisibility charms correct, so he was, regrettably, seen my Muggles.

Mum is understandably livid with him for missing dinner, and for inadvertently making the BBC news. She popped round the neighbours to have a look.

He'll have to answer for what he was up to, but the main thing is he landed it safely, nobody was hurt, and he's being 'co-operative'. Well, you know Dad as well as I do.

I will try and keep you updated, but Uncle Francis has been over to see Mum too, and hopefully the pair of them can talk some sense into him.

Please don't worry yourselves, I just wanted to let you know before it was in the papers. Write to me and let me know how you all are, won't you? Would be lovely to pop up to Hogsmeade the weekend to see you and Ambrose at least.

I showed everyone the letter like you asked. Are you really sure we don't need to worry? What if Dad has to go to Azkaban? He's too old for that, and way too old for it now. Is Mum ok? Are you ok?

And Hogwarts is ok, I guess. There's lots and lots of new Professors to draw, I don't think I'll ever be finished and I'm almost out of good sketch paper. Dad was going to send me some. Ambrose and I are raising a little tree for class, I wrote Ianto to make sure we don't kill it.

Please please please come by for Hogsmeade. Everyone else is going to be doing Valentine's things, even Ambrose now that he has a girlfriend. So I'm going to be so bored and even Ambrose can find someone and I need to start looking or something.

Let's not go to Puddifoot's when you come by.

Don't panic, we're all fine. Mum's livid but tonight she started laughing at the conspiracy theories she'd found at work on the web-thing and inked onto paper. Some of them are alarmingly close - suggesting it is a marketing campaign! Perhaps next time Dad should trail a banner for Blue Silver behind it.

Dad is in a bit of hot water certainly, but he's being co-operative with Law Enforcement and he's not some dangerous dark wizard, so they're not keeping him too confined.

Good luck with the tree. I'm sure you two will do really well with it, team Pepper for the win! Ianto will give you excellent advice I'm sure.

Would be happy to pop along to Hogsmeade, think Chris and I will be celebrating Valentines but we'll stop our snogging to spend some time with my little sister. Joking, of course we'd love to see you.

Stop worrying about boys. I didn't find someone until after I left Hogwarts remember. Ambrose takes after Uncle Francis with the ladies - he's been brought up to be nice to them, those boys are hard to find. Is there anyone at all you have your eye on?

Send my regards to Professor Trishna, Hooch and all who are still there. I expect a full run down of the new staff when I visit next weekend!

But I'm good at panicking. And Dad's not very good at staying out of trouble. Look how his vacation went! I still worry about that, he's all gray now. Gray isn't a good color at all.

And the tree is still alive so we have to be doing something right. It hasn't even been knocked over or anything. It's getting the cutest little new tiny leaves on it now.

If you could talk while snogging I wouldn't ask you to stop, it's supposed to be fun, right? But I don't think you can and I haven't gotten to talk to you in forever already. And I'll try not to worry, but it's hard. Not sure how it's all supposed to work yet. And there's no one I like at all.

I'll give everyone your regards. And you'll get to see my new drawings, of course.

And yes paper thank you. Silly Dad. Maybe Eta was right this time, though. That'll go to her head.

See you 2:30 on Saturday 13th at the Three Broomsticks? Bring Ambrose and Cyhirae if they want to come along, but otherwise we'll see you there. Should be late enough to miss the lunchtime rush, and we can visit Honeydukes before you have to go back.

I'll press it on Dad that he needs to write you.

I'll be there! I can't promise anything about Cyhirae and Ambrose, they might want to be alone  all day apparently that's how a lot of people do Valentine's? Honeydukes would be good, though.

And Dad was gone for so long, wouldn't he want to write me? He'd better! Or else I'll just bury him in letters until he writes back. Or drawings. Drawings might be easier.
